[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind
Chapter 087 She deserves it
In the ward of St. Mungo's Hospital, the soft light from the magic bubble floating near the ceiling illuminates the girl's face on the hospital bed.She closed her eyes tightly, her face was as pale as a piece of paper.
The light-haired boy stood beside her hospital bed, looking down at her quietly.
At this moment, the door of the ward was suddenly pushed open.
Abraxas turned his head, and the boy who rushed in nodded.
"You look fine." Avery said, closing the door behind him. "They say you'll be out of the hospital soon."
"Oh, yes." Abraxas replied, although he looked tired, but his cheeks were rosy, and he looked much stronger than the girl lying on the hospital bed.
"How are you feeling?" Avery asked, walking up to him.
"I'm recovering very well, and I don't have any scars. Their burn ointment is very effective," Abraxas said.
Avery shifted his gaze to the girl.
"She still hasn't woken up," he sighed.
"The therapists said that the wound on her body was not serious. It took them only one minute to stop the bleeding from the wound. Now the wound is completely healed." Abraxas said in a low voice.
"But why is she still unconscious?"
"The therapist doesn't know why." Abraxas replied heavily. "They have checked carefully, but no one can find the reason for her coma. They say that she is very weak now, like a long time It’s like recovering from an illness.”
Avery stared at Eleanor in silence for a while, then suddenly said, "Do those therapists know about her special situation?"
Abraxas knew what Avery was referring to.Eleanor was miraculously "resurrected" and perhaps that event had some effect on her body.
"They know." Abraxas murmured, "Even so, there's nothing they can do."
Eleanor felt herself floating lightly in the air, and looking around, she realized that she was standing on the little Hangleton lane.
The surrounding fog was heavy, and the surrounding scenery was covered by a vast expanse of whiteness. She could barely see the scenery within a few meters.
She floated forward slowly. The mist is gradually dissipating until the familiar old house is revealed. This is her parents' house, where she was born and raised until the day her parents died.
She suddenly felt that all this seemed familiar, but she did not stop, but continued along the path.
Finally, she saw another familiar building appear in the thick fog.Red brick walls surround a cool gray house that belongs to Uncle Tim.
She stood in front of the house door for a few seconds, hesitated for a moment, and continued to float forward.
The fog ahead suddenly became thicker again, and she could hardly see the fences on both sides of the road;
At this moment, she suddenly saw something appearing in the thick fog.
It was a crimson carriage with new blue cushions.Strangely, it appeared exceptionally clear amidst a vast white fog. What is even more strange is that there is no horse pulling it, and it just stops alone, as if waiting for something.
Eleanor walked over, stroked the smooth paint on the carriage seat, and then raised her legs to climb up.
"...Don't do that." A vague voice suddenly sounded in her ears.
Eleanor turned around abruptly in surprise, there was still a thick white mist behind her, and she couldn't see anything.
"Don't get in that carriage." The voice suddenly became much clearer.
"Who is it?" Eleanor asked, but found that she didn't need to speak.
"Don't get in that carriage," the voice repeated, and it became much more indistinct again, "...now is not the time yet."
Eleanor always felt that the voice was unusually familiar, but now her mind was in a state of confusion, and she couldn't remember where she had heard that voice.
"Ahead is not where you should be," the voice continued. "Turn around... go back, Eleanor."
"Who are you?" Eleanor asked in her heart.
"...you will know," the voice replied. Then, the voice became more and more indistinct, and Eleanor could hardly hear what it said.
"Go back...wait...you will..." The voice came intermittently.
Finally, that voice died away.
Eleanor glanced at the carriage reluctantly, then turned around and drifted in the direction she came from. She felt her body gradually become heavier, and finally her feet finally stepped on the solid ground.
She thought she would see Uncle Tim's house again, but she didn't.All she saw was a vast white mist.
The white mist in front of her suddenly became dazzling, and she couldn't help squinting her eyes.
"...Wait, her eyelids are moving." A strange female voice said.
Eleanor narrowed her eyes and found herself staring at a group of glowing bubbles floating on the ceiling.
"Thank goodness she's awake," the voice continued.
Eleanor turned her head and saw a woman in a green robe looking down at herself with concern.
"Who are you? Where the hell am I?" she said, only to find her voice hoarse as if she hadn't spoken in months.
"You're at St. Mungo's, dear. I'm your therapist, Ruby River." The older woman said, smiling. "How are you feeling?"
Eleanor shook her drowsy head, "It feels like I've been asleep for a century... Besides, I'm starving to death."
"I'm going to get you something to eat right now," the therapist said.
Eleanor ate almost two servings and found that her stomach was finally not so uncomfortable.
"Your appetite is good," the therapist jotted down in his notebook, "that's a good sign."
"How did I get here?" Eleanor asked with a frown.
"Oh, don't you remember, dear?" said the therapist softly. "Don't worry, you will remember. Well, rest now. I will give you a full physical examination later." .With luck, you'll be out of the hospital soon."
Eleanor lay back on the bed and recalled what had happened before. She remembered being with Avery and the Three Broomsticks. She heard voices coming from the men's room, and then she was attacked from behind by a man.
She suddenly remembered the smell of decay, the dark basement, and the cold sharp knife on her neck...
"Oh, damn it." She cursed secretly, feeling her body trembling slightly. She seemed to be able to vaguely smell the sweaty smell of the man named Thomas.
At the moment when the blade touched her neck, she thought she was going to die soon.
What she thought she had forgotten long ago, the fear of death swept over every inch of her body. The only magic she could remember was the Freezing Fire Charm...
Finally, she remembers being rescued and managed to get out of the house.
She also remembered Tom coming towards her through the smoke. She's never been so happy to see him, yes they all came to her rescue, she's finally safe...
But she couldn't leave Abraxas alone, the only thought left in her chaotic mind...
Eleanor opened her eyes suddenly, and she finally remembered the last thing that happened.
Did she successfully put out the magic fire and save Abraxas?
Thinking about it, she fell asleep again in a daze with worries and questions.
At this moment, in the Slytherin common room, Tom was sitting in an armchair in the corner with his eyes closed, seemingly asleep.
After some time, a person crept to his side.
"What are you doing, Cloures?" he said suddenly.
Cloris immediately froze in place, "Uh, it's nothing."
Tom opened his eyes slowly, his eyes were not chaotic at all, which meant that he hadn't fallen asleep at all just now.
"What do you want, Cloures?" he said, staring at Cloures firmly, while reaching out and lazily closing the diary on the desk.
"I said, it's nothing." Cloris said, pretending to be calm and raising his chin slightly.
"Do you want to peek at this?" Tom waved the black note in his hand, with a mocking smile on his face, "but I'm sorry, I never record my privacy on it."
"I don't want to read your diary." Claudius said stubbornly. She noticed that Tom was showing doubts, so she coughed lightly to change the subject, "By the way, is Eleanor still in St. Mungo's Hospital?"
Hearing Eleanor's name, Tom's expression suddenly darkened.
"As far as I know, yes," said Tom dryly.
"Is she still unconscious?"
Tom frowned slightly, "I don't know."
"You didn't visit her?" asked Cloris.
Tom suddenly became furious, and Cloris had never seen his face change so quickly.
"Since you care so much about her, why don't you go and see her yourself, Cloris?" he said coldly, and then he stood up and walked towards the exit of the common room.
"Every time dear Eleanor is mentioned, he will become very irritable." Lestrange walked to Cloris's side, lowered his head slightly and whispered in her ear, "It seems that he still Really obsessed with that Mudblood."
"I won't pry into Tom's affairs for you anymore." Cloris turned his head away in disgust and said, "He almost found out that I was peeking at his diary just now."
"But you haven't heard anything yet, dear Cloris." Lestrange said, carelessly stroking Cloures' hair with his hand.
Cloris pulled his hair out of his hand, and said angrily, "Listen, I don't want to listen to you anymore, Lestrange. Besides, Tom has no interest in me. I did it a long time ago. I told you!"
Lestrange sneered, "Yeah, I've noticed it a long time ago. Your femininity is not as good as that Mudblood."
"Shut up, Lestrange. And now I'm…" She said, breaking off abruptly, swallowing nervously.
Fortunately, Lestrange didn't notice her uneasiness. Instead, he raised the corners of his mouth and showed an evil smile, "Don't worry, Cloris, I won't let you do that kind of thing again. Don't forget Now, our parents are discussing our marriage..."
As he said, he stretched out his hand and squeezed Cloris' chin, "I don't want you to be touched by another man before you get married... Oh, yes, I forgot that you were once infatuated with a handsome school doctor , do you still like him now?"
Claudius's fair cheeks flushed instantly, and he slapped Lestrange's hand off, "If you dare to speak to me in such a frivolous tone, I'll tell your father what you did."
Hearing that Cloris mentioned his father, Lestrange's expression immediately became vicious.
"If you dare—" he hissed in Cloris' ear, "involve my father, I'll make you suffer, Miss Parkinson . . . let everybody know Have you ever had a session with the school doctor?"
Cloris immediately turned pale and bit his lip.
After he finished speaking, he loosened the collar of Claureus, and calmly straightened the folds of the robe.
"Wait for my next instruction, Cloris." He whispered hoarsely, and then walked away quickly.
A week later, Eleanor was finally able to leave the hospital.
She had heard from the therapist that the Malfoys paid for all her hospital bills.Sadly, she hadn't seen any of the Malfoys come to thank her, even though she had saved their precious heir.
She doesn't care about that. She was more concerned that she had heard that Tom Riddle had not been on the list of people who had visited her during the two months she had been in a coma.
Abraxas came to see her three times, Avery twice, and even Professor Slughorn once.
Why hasn't Tom been here?
This made Eleanor feel vaguely very disturbed. She always felt that Tom should be angry with her, because she didn't listen to him that day, but got into the burning house in a crazy way.
"If it were me, I would be angry too. Just apologize to him, and he will understand." She comforted herself.
But until the day she was discharged from the hospital, she did not see Tom.Her mood slowly turned from guilt to annoyance.
After returning to Hogwarts, the first person she saw was Professor Slughorn.Looking at the thick pile of homework in front of her, she suddenly realized that she had missed a lot of classes, which made her feel very depressed.
Professor Slughorn saw Eleanor's concern.
"Don't worry, you're in a study group, aren't you? Your group members will be more than happy to help you." He flipped through the roster on the table and said, "Your group member is Miss Holliday—oh, yes. Great, and Tom! I think they will be willing to help you make up the missing classes. Of course, you can also ask me or other professors if you have any questions."
"Thank you, Professor," Eleanor said.
"By the way, Mr. Malfoy—it was Abraxas' father who asked me to give this to you." Professor Slughorn suddenly opened the drawer and took out a small velvet box.
Eleanor took the locket, and when she opened it, she was surprised to find that it was a very beautiful emerald pendant attached to it by a thin silver chain.
"This is..." Eleanor raised her head in confusion.
"Take it, boy, this thing is worth a lot of money." Professor Slughorn said with a smile. "You saved their child, and you deserve it."
A few minutes later, Eleanor left Professor Slughorn's office with a pile of homework and gems in her arms.
She felt better after returning to the familiar common room. She took a deep breath, her nostrils filled with a familiar smell, even seeing Lestrange with a smirk didn't make her mood worse.
As soon as she put the things down, she heard a familiar voice behind her.
"Oh my god, it's good you're all right!"
Eleanor turned around, but was hugged tightly by the other party.
"Uh...you're strangling me, Abu," she said.
Abraxas let her go quickly.
"So your injuries are all healed." Eleanor looked at the other party up and down, and said with a smile.
"I'm fine." Abraxas said immediately, but he looked much thinner than before the incident, and his cheeks were a little sunken. "But you, how do you feel, Eleanor?"
"It couldn't be better." Eleanor smiled, "By the way, where's Avery?"
When Avery was mentioned, Abraxas suddenly looked a little gloomy, "I don't know, maybe it's in the library."
"Did you quarrel?" Eleanor said, observing his expression.
"What? Oh, of course not." Abraxas said quickly. At this moment, he suddenly looked straight ahead and said in a low voice, "...it's Tom."
Eleanor turned quickly, just in time to see Tom walking in from the entrance of the common room.
The moment he saw Eleanor, he immediately stopped stiffly.A complicated expression quickly flashed across his face, and then he immediately returned to calm.
Eleanor didn't notice the change in the other party's expression at all.She only saw the familiar face in her eyes, and she didn't want to care about other things at all.
The moment she saw Tom, Eleanor realized how much she missed him, and all the anxiety and annoyance before it disappeared in the blink of an eye.
She stared straight at him, then walked quickly towards him.
Tom stood motionless, like a statue, presumably waiting for her to pass.
"Hi, Tom," she said with a big smile.
Tom looked down at her silently, without any surprise in his eyes, but with some kind of cold rejection.
"Long time no see, how are you recently?" Eleanor said, she finally noticed that something was wrong with Tom's expression, which made her feel vaguely uneasy.
Tom's Adam's apple rolled, and he let out a short chuckle, "I'm fine, Eleanor, very well. It looks like you're fully recovered."
"Yes." Eleanor replied hoarsely. She silently stared at those beautiful dark eyes, and couldn't help reaching out her hand to touch the other's cheek.
But Tom reached out and grabbed her wrist, and put it down slowly.
"I'm glad you're back." He said dryly, looking completely out of place with what he said, "so please excuse me."
The light-haired boy stood beside her hospital bed, looking down at her quietly.
At this moment, the door of the ward was suddenly pushed open.
Abraxas turned his head, and the boy who rushed in nodded.
