[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind
Chapter 088 Sensitive Emotions
"Yes." Eleanor replied hoarsely. She silently stared at those beautiful dark eyes, and couldn't help reaching out to touch the other's cheek.
But Tom reached out and grabbed her wrist, and put it down slowly.
"I'm glad you're back." He said dryly, looking completely out of place with what he said. "Then excuse me."
The smile on Eleanor's face froze instantly. But Tom stretched out his hand and pushed her shoulder away, and walked towards the bedroom without looking back.
"What happened to him?" Abraxas came over and asked in a low voice.
"I don't know." Eleanor replied, her mood suddenly fell to the bottom. She hesitated for a moment, then walked quickly to the boys' dormitory.
This was not the first time she broke into the boys' dormitory, but her appearance still surprised a boy who had just walked out of his room and was wearing only a pair of pajama pants. The moment he saw Eleanor, he froze for a moment, then screamed like a little girl, and slammed the door shut.
"Sorry." Eleanor whispered.
The sound caught Tom's attention. He turned around, stared at Eleanor silently for a few seconds, and then suddenly sighed slightly. He stretched out his hand and pushed open the door of his bedroom, and gestured to Eleanor to come over.
Eleanor walked over quickly. She stood at the door and looked around, but she heard Tom say coldly, "Come in, Lestrange is not here."
"Okay," mumbled Eleanor, entering the room.
Tom was sitting on a chair, tapping his fingers on the armrest, and said impatiently, "Don't close the door, unless you want people to think we're doing something."
Eleanor's hand towards the door stopped immediately, and she cleared her throat in embarrassment, "Okay, close it if you don't." She turned around and looked into the other's dark eyes, "Aren't you going to tell What the hell happened to me?"
"If you have enough discernment, you can tell," Tom said flatly, slowly, as if explaining an academic question, "I'm mad at you."
"I'm sorry." Eleanor replied immediately. No matter what, it's always right to apologize first.
Tom stared at her for a few seconds, and suddenly a sneer appeared on his expressionless face, "Okay, I forgive you. Goodbye, Eleanor."
Eleanor half opened her mouth in surprise, "...what?"
"I said I forgive you. You can go now." Tom continued to speak in that cold tone with an unemotional smile on the corner of his mouth.
"But you still look angry with me," said Eleanor, frowning.
Tom looked ahead in silence, but did not meet Eleanor's eyes.
"Well, I know I shouldn't have left you and rushed into that house that day." Eleanor said, carefully observing Tom's face, "I thought you were probably worried about me, so I—"
Suddenly a strange smile appeared on Tom's face, "Probably?"
"Uh, yes, I made a slip of the tongue." Eleanor quickly corrected herself.
Tom stood up abruptly from his chair. He walked to Eleanor's side, lowered his head and stared at her fiercely, and at the same time reached out and slammed the door behind her.
"You don't know anything, Eleanor." He approached Eleanor and whispered in a slightly hoarse voice, the tips of their noses were almost touching, "When I saw you, I once thought...you died."
Eleanor opened her eyes slightly.
Tom let out a piercing sneer, "Do you know what it's like, Eleanor dear? To see someone...a person who least wants to leave him lying there, cold and lifeless and covered in blood. I'm sorry, that kind of thing is enough for me to go through it once."
"I'm sorry." Eleanor finally found her voice, and she leaned weakly against the door panel behind her, "I'm sorry, Tom, I know you're worried about me."
Tom's warm breath filled all her consciousness, and it made her feel a little dizzy. She forced a smile and continued in as cheerful a voice as possible, "Well, I'm back and unscathed, so let's pretend this never happened, shall we?"
As soon as Eleanor finished speaking, she realized that she had said the wrong thing.
Tom stared into her eyes in silence, and the cold look in those deep eyes frightened her a little.
"Don't look at me like that." Eleanor frowned and whispered, she put her arms around Tom's neck and tried to kiss him, but was pushed away by the other side.
The back of Eleanor's head hit the door panel behind her hard, causing her eyes to stare immediately.
"Oh, damn it, Tom!" she said, a little annoyed. "That hurts!"
Tom stretched out his hand and pulled Eleanor away, then opened the door of the room.
"I think you should go." He said coldly. "Lestrange will be back soon. You probably don't want to meet him?"
"What do I have to do in order for you to forgive me?" Eleanor gritted her teeth and said trembling slightly, partly because of anger, partly because she was at a loss.
"Nothing." Tom replied indifferently.
"Well, so you're not going to forgive me, no matter what I do, are you?"
Tom didn't answer the question, but quickly closed the door of the room in her presence.
The door nearly hit Eleanor in the face. She took a step back, staring angrily at the tightly closed door.
"Okay, I understand, I'm leaving! Let's go!" She said angrily, and then hesitated at the door for half a minute.
But in the end Tom didn't look at the door anymore, so she had to turn around and leave resentfully.
The boy who was only wearing pajama pants showed his head and shouted angrily at her back: "This is the boys' dormitory, don't come here again!"
Why is he so sensitive, like a girl?Eleanor lay on her bed, thinking indignantly.
She had begged his forgiveness, but unfortunately he had no intention of accepting it.If he was really worried about her, he should be happy that she got better, but he didn't look happy at all.And when he was in the hospital, he never visited her once, not even once.
Thinking of this, Eleanor groaned, pulled up the quilt and buried herself.
The feeling of arguing with Tom was not pleasant at all, but it did not affect Eleanor's sleep problems at all, and she still slept until dawn.
And she couldn't help noticing that Tom seemed to have a little more dark circles under his eyes, which made her feel more balanced.
For two whole weeks, the two of them hadn't spoken a single word—except in Potions class, where, since they sat next to each other, there would inevitably be necessary conversations, such as "pass the cauldron tongs to I" or something.
Eleanor gradually became restless, and at the same time found that it was difficult for her to concentrate, and she would be distracted no matter what she did.
——Well, she has always been such a half-hearted character, but at least she used to not be in a daze when eating.
At dinner, Avery had to stop Eleanor from sprinkling pepper into her tea.
"That's not sugar, Eleanor!" he exclaimed.
Eleanor was looking at Tom at the other end of the long table from the corner of her eye.Startled by Avery's voice, she accidentally knocked over the black tea with her elbow.
"Oh, what a fool I am!" exclaimed Eleanor in chagrin, and frantically dabbed the stain with her napkin.
Abraxas held out his wand and said, "Clean up.
The black tea on Eleanor's body was immediately cleaned up.
"Thank you." Eleanor sighed and sat back on the chair.
"What's the matter with you?" Avery said, looking at her amusedly, "you've been in a daze all day, like you've got a confusion spell—well, you're not really a confusion charm, Right?"
"I don't know what's wrong." Eleanor said helplessly.
"The exam is less than a month away." Abraxas pointed out the matter cruelly, "Have you made up all the missing courses?"
"Oh, no!" Eleanor exclaimed, and the students around immediately looked at her curiously. She quickly lowered her voice, "Damn it, I completely forgot about that!"
"What did Professor Slughorn say before?" Avery asked. "Perhaps you can ask to postpone the exam, such as after the holidays."
"It's a good idea, but Professor Slughorn asked me to ask my study group for help," Eleanor said.Thinking of the study group, Eleanor felt her heart be pulled.
She couldn't help but picture Tom and Holliday in the Room of Requirement, working on homework together.
Damn it, she thought moaning.
"I can help you," Avery said suddenly, "except for Transfiguration, of course."
"Thank you." Eleanor said with a smile.
She couldn't hide her frustrated expression. But Avery seemed to think she was just worrying about the exam, so he kindly lent her his lecture notes.
She finally decided to try her luck with Professor Slughorn, who might be able to get him to postpone the exam.
After Potions get out of class, she asked Professor Slughorn about it.
"Well, boy," sighed Professor Slughorn, "in your particular circumstances we may make an exception for you. But I'll have to discuss it with the other professors."
"Great, thank you, professor!" Eleanor excitedly hugged the venerable professor.
"Hmm...very good." Slughorn patted Eleanor's back unnaturally, forcing out a smile, "If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'm usually in the office at night."
"Okay, I will." Eleanor grinned.
When she left the Potions classroom, all the students had already left.Because this is the last class, the corridor outside the classroom is empty.
She walked around a corner, and suddenly heard the sound of arguing in a stairwell not far ahead.
"I've had enough of you, let me go!" It was a girl's voice.
But Tom reached out and grabbed her wrist, and put it down slowly.
"I'm glad you're back." He said dryly, looking completely out of place with what he said. "Then excuse me."
