[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind
Chapter 042 Disgusting
In order not to arouse too much curiosity, Eleanor still pretends to be the same as before, and usually does not touch things in front of other students.
She still goes to class with Tom and Avery, and at night she wanders around the castle.Occasionally she would run into Peeves or a patrolling warden, but otherwise no one would interfere with her exploration of the castle.
After curfew, Eleanor lay on Tom's bed, leaning on her chin and watching Avery practice the Transfiguration Charm. He needs to turn a spoon into a fork.
But Avery tried and failed many times. He threw his wand on the bed in despair, "I give up."
"You're not doing it quite right," Eleanor said. "You need a little flick of the wrist, not a bang on that spoon."
"You're so smart, why don't you try?" Avery said impatiently.
Eleanor jumped off the bed, went over and picked up Avery's wand.
Avery looked at her in surprise, "You don't really want to—"
Before he finished speaking, Eleanor raised his wand and took a deep breath, pointing at the spoon.
The moment Eleanor was about to chant the spell, the door of the dormitory was pushed open.
It was Tom who came in.
He watched in amazement as Eleanor stood beside Avery's bed, wand raised. He stopped, frowned and said, "What are you two playing?"
"Eleanor is about to demonstrate magic to us." Avery said maliciously, then grinned at Eleanor, "Hurry up, we're all waiting."
"You know I can't do magic," said Eleanor, shrugging. "You just want to see my jokes."
With that, she threw the wand back on Avery's bed.
"Where have you been, Tom? It's long past curfew," she accosted Tom, and then sat back on Tom's bed without ceremony.
Tom walked to the side of the cabinet, rolled up the parchment in his hand and carefully put it back in the drawer.
"I'm under no obligation to keep you informed of whereabouts," he said slowly.
"I'm just asking casually." Eleanor didn't mind Tom's cold attitude at all, because she was used to it.
"What have you been up to lately, Tom?" Avery asked from the side, "I saw you getting very close to Carlo and the Parkinson boy. When did you get along so well?"
"I'm just having an academic exchange with them," said Tom dryly. He went to the bed and said to Eleanor, "Get up, I'm going to bed."
But Eleanor stayed on the bed and refused to move. She pretended to yawn on the bed and winked at Tom, "I don't mind sleeping with you."
Tom was sullen and looked about to lose his temper.
"Get up." He ordered again.
Eleanor turned her back on him, determined to annoy him.
They had hardly spoken since she had stopped following him.
After these three years, Eleanor is almost used to the life of chatting with Tom every day, although most of their conversations are meaningless. But since she got the ring, Tom began to avoid her consciously, often not saying a word to her all day, which made her feel a little uncomfortable.
"I thought we were friends, but it turned out to be my own wishful thinking!" She grabbed Tom's quilt, bit the corner of the quilt and said pretending to be sad, and then began to roll on the bed with the quilt in her arms.
Tom looked at some ghost writhing on the bed, and took a deep breath to force himself not to draw out his wand to cast a poison on her.He began to think seriously about why he had agreed to let her hold the ring in the first place.
He found himself wishing she had remained her ghostly form, even if it meant he would have no privacy from her again, but that was better than the present.Eleanor, who could touch things, was a nightmare for him.
He originally thought she was just a talkative guy, but now it seems that she is even more of a troublemaker.
He stared at Eleanor's back, and suddenly thought of a good idea.He quietly summoned the snake from under the bed.He could hardly wait to see the panicked expression on the ghost's face.
So he resisted the urge to laugh, and secretly put the snake on the bed.
"Eleanor," he said quietly, "I think I've found you a good partner."
When Eleanor heard Tom's words, she turned over in confusion, and just happened to meet the little triangular head with the bright red letter spitting out.
With a terrific scream, she seized the snake and threw it out.
The poor snake fell to the wall, and then slid limply to the ground, not knowing whether it was knocked out or died.
"It's despicable!" she said, jumping off the bed, still in shock. "You're using Nagini to frighten me!"
Tom quickly regained his composure from his surprised expression.
"Nagini died last month. The current one is not Nagini." He said coldly, bent down to pick up the snake from the ground, and sneered, "But it was killed by you just now .”
"What? Oh, I'm sorry." Eleanor apologized subconsciously, "I didn't intend to kill your pet."
Tom ignored her, but drew the curtain with his hands, completely separating Eleanor from himself.
"I said I'm sorry." Eleanor whispered, she sighed, walked to the side of the snake and kicked it.The snake remained motionless.
"Isn't it really dead?" she said to herself.Resisting the urge to turn and run away, she gently lifted the snake from the ground and walked over to Avery's bed.
"Hey, Avery, help me see if this snake can be saved." After she finished speaking, she quickly threw the snake on Avery's bed, and it hit Avery exactly s face.
Avery let out a scream and jumped out of bed.
"What are you doing?" He glared at Eleanor.
"Sorry. I didn't mean it." Eleanor held back a smile and said solemnly.
Tom opened the curtain and shouted at Eleanor almost at the same moment as Avery: "Get out!"
A minute later, Eleanor was sitting alone by the fireplace in the common room, playing a game of wizard chess.
"Did I really offend them?" she said to the little queen in her palm, who looked up at her with contemptuous eyes.
Eleanor sighed.
"Okay, I get it. I'll give them a good apology tomorrow, okay?"
