[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind

Chapter 043 Eleanor's Gift

The next morning, Avery woke up late and missed breakfast. He had to go to the kitchen and ask the house-elf for something to eat.He went to the hanging picture and scratched Lizi, who giggled and opened the door.

The moment the door opened, he heard voices coming from inside the door.

"...No, no, don't thank us!" said the high-pitched, thin voice of a house-elf. "We'd be happy to serve you, Miss Alford!"

Avery walked into the kitchen, and he was surprised to see Eleanor standing at the long table. The moment she saw Avery walk in, Eleanor hurriedly hid something in her hand behind her back.

"What are you doing here, Eleanor?" Avery asked curiously.

"It's nothing." Eleanor replied blankly, "I'm leaving. By the way, what are you doing here? Are you stealing food?" She said with a smirk on her face.

"Of course not stealing!" Avery said dissatisfied.

"Would you like some gingerbread?" A house-elf enthusiastically brought over a large plate of delicious-looking gingerbread.

"Oh, of course." Avery took it and popped a piece into his mouth.

He raised his head and found that Eleanor was looking at him with a teasing smile. He almost choked, coughed a few times and said, "I just missed breakfast!"

"Yes, I understand." Eleanor said, and at the same time enthusiastically stuffed a plate of grilled red sausage into his hand, "Come on, get some more!"

Avery stared at her suspiciously for a few seconds before finally turning and leaving the kitchen.

Seeing Avery leave the kitchen, Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief. She squeezed the bag tightly in her hand, which contained the surprise she wanted to give Tom.

In the afternoon, Tom finally came back from the outside.Apparently he went to Hogsmeade alone.

Last week, Professor Slughorn finally agreed to sign Tom's form, allowing Tom to visit Hogsmeade village - since Tom has no guardian, he has not been able to apply for the qualification to go to Hogsmeade village, so He could only turn to the dean of his own college for help.

Tom was sitting in the armchair talking with the Slytherin boys at the moment.Eleanor didn't like the boys very much, because she often saw them treat other students with arrogance.

Eleanor had seen the Lestrange boy curse a young Hufflepuff girl in the corridor, just because the girl accidentally spilled ink on his foot.

However, they all seem to respect Tom, which can be seen from the way they look at Tom.

Eleanor waited a little while, but Tom seemed to be enjoying the conversation with the boys, and had no intention of leaving his seat.

Eleanor finally decided to just let it go.She came up behind Tom and cleared her throat.

Almost everyone looked up at her at the same time.

Lestrange lazily leaned on the sofa and said, "Tom, your ghost boy is here."

Tom was the last to turn around. He frowned slightly and said, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm not his horse." Eleanor looked at Lestrange coldly and said, "Please pay attention to your language."

"Oh!" Lestrange let out a false exclamation, repeating in a fake Eleanor tone, "Pay attention to your language!"

The other boys suddenly giggled.

Tom didn't smile, he just stared silently at the coffee table in front of him.

Lestrange continued with a smirk, "I'm sorry, Muggle lady, maybe I need to kneel down and kiss your hand and beg for forgiveness? However, I'm sure my mouth will be covered in mud (Muggle's) Homophone)." Lestrange laughed contemptuously.

Everyone giggled again.

Eleanor suddenly felt angry. She sneered dryly, "Haha, so I saved my hand. If you really dare to kiss my hand, I will dip it in sulfuric acid. Also, wash your mouth, you use this Dirty mouth to kiss your mother?"

Lestrange didn't seem to expect that Eleanor would strike back like a cannonball. His face flushed with anger, "How dare you talk to me like that, Muggle!"

"Yes, I'm talking to you like this." Eleanor folded her arms and said, "What do you want?"

Lestrange jerked his wand out and jumped off the couch.

At this moment, Tom suddenly spoke.

"Sit down," said Tom dryly to Lestrange. "You know your spell won't work on her."

Lestrange stared at Eleanor for a few seconds, and finally sat down resentfully.

"You have to learn to control your emotions," Tom told him. "She's just a ghost."

"That's right, it's just a ghost!" Eleanor exclaimed angrily.Maybe it was because of Tom's attitude, or maybe it was because Tom didn't look at her again from the beginning, but let those people insult her face to face, Eleanor felt angrier than before.

She picked up the bag in her hand and threw it on the coffee table in front of them.

"Here's a present for you," she said coldly to Tom, and turned away.

At this time, a snake slowly came out from the opening of the bag.

Suddenly the boys yelled in horror.

"Snake—snake!" They all jumped up from the sofa.

Tom raised an eyebrow in a little surprise. He whispered something to the snake, as if to stop the snake from attacking the boys.

But the snake didn't seem to hear it, and slid straight in the direction of Lestrange. It opened its mouth and bit Lestrange's cuff, and Lestrange screamed like a pig.

"Get it out of the way! Get it out of the way!" cried Lestrange, dancing and trying to shake the snake away. But the snake was biting his cuff tightly, which is really strange for a snake.

Almost everyone in the common room looked over. They pointed at Lestrange, and some snickered.

After half a minute, Tom lazily said something.

The snake let go of its mouth obediently, and fell at Lestrange's feet.

Lestrange angrily raised his foot to kill the snake.

"Don't." Tom stopped aloud, his eyes fell on the snake, "I'll deal with it."
