That Alien Feeling
Chapter 20
Harry noticed that the waiting time passed extremely slowly. He sighed.
"Is there something wrong with your coffee, Xiaohu?"
Harry glanced at his untouched cup of coffee and shook his head. "The coffee is good," he smiled at Samantha. She lost her temper when she first met him ("You disappeared like that? I was so worried, asshole!"), but, thank God, she had forgiven him.
"I just..." Harry couldn't finish.Samantha glanced knowingly, and he moved uncomfortably.
"My God," she beamed. "You finally slept with him."
Doorbell rang.
"I—" Harry was about to speak, but realized that Samantha was looking away.
"Oh god," she murmured to herself, looking somewhere behind Harry. "Look at that handsome guy, Xiaoha."
Harry turned his head curiously—
Then froze.
A tall man with broad shoulders stood at the door, his silver eyes scanning the interior of the cafe indifferently. His long hair tied back was the blue of the night sky, but it did nothing to soften the sharp and firm jaw line. His pale pupils met Harry's gaze, hard and cold.
Harry tried to shrink himself into a small ball.
"He's looking at you, Harry!" Samantha whispered to him excitedly. "How did you get so lucky? First Adam and now—"
"He's my brother." Harry sighed, watching Keza walk toward him resignedly.
Keza was on fire.Maybe he was acting nonchalantly, but Harry knew he was furious. It wasn't because he could read K'za's mind—he never could, and, even with his greatly enhanced senses, he still couldn't penetrate K'za's spirit shield, which was a bit of a surprise to him.He didn't try too hard, though, because technically, that would be illegal.
But he knew Keza.He didn't have to read his head to know that his brother was upset with him.Of course, that's a bit... an understatement.
"Brother?" Samantha yelled just as Keza walked up to them.
"Harry." Keza was careful not to call out his Kaluvia name.
Harry thought this was the first time Keza had called him by that name.Just as he expected.Keza may be quite obsessed with Kaluvia's various traditions, but as the chief judge of the Department of Intergalactic Affairs Management, he is also very good at following the customs of the country and will never do things that reveal his true identity.Even his clothes are completely in the style of earthlings, without any flaws.Harry didn't know anything about terrestrial fashion, but Keza was wearing a super-expensive-looking dark suit, similar to the one Adam wore.
The thought of Adam gave Harry a little anxiety. It's almost time for Adam's lunch break, and he might be here in a second.
"Hi," Harry greeted Keza, his mind racing over what to do next.Introduce Adam to him? This is absolutely not going to work. But he couldn't just go with Keza, he promised Adam to wait for him, and besides, he was very afraid that if he went with Keza, he might never see Adam again. He didn't doubt that Keza would teleport him back as soon as he was out of sight of the earthlings.
Samantha cleared her throat suggestively before Harry thought of etiquette.
"This is Samantha, my ex-colleague," he said, gesticulating between her and Keza. "My brother, Keza."
Oops.Should he make up a more Earth-like name for Keza? Does "Kaza" sound a little too Earth-like?
Keza glared at him disapprovingly, but nodded politely to Samantha. "Nice to meet you," he whispered.
Blushing, she stroked her hair, and instead of looking directly at Keza, she looked at him fondly from under her eyelashes. "I'm happy too." Her voice sounded a little strange.
For the first time, Harry understood what it meant to be "I'm embarrassed for you".He had already figured out a little way about Samantha's behavior, and he knew that Samantha had taken a fancy to Keza.He really wanted to persuade her to save it.
I wondered if Keza had noticed her flirting with him, but he didn't respond, his eyes returned to Harry. "Where is he?"
"Who?" Harry asked reluctantly.Did Keza know about Adam?
"Xion." Keza gave him an "inexplicable" look.
Oh, right.
Before Harry could answer, the doorbell rang again, and several guests entered the cafe.
"Sorry, I have to go back to work," Samantha said regretfully.
"I'm here to help!" Harry answered quickly, and wanted to slip away.
But Keza tugged at his wrist, forcing him to sit down.
"He's not available," Keza told Samantha. His tone was a little apologetic, but his expression was completely different.
She nodded and walked away.As soon as she left, Keza said in a low voice, "Be honest, Hachter."
Harry leaned back in his chair in resistance. "how did you find me?"
Keza glanced at him lightly. "You really think I can't find it?"
"But Sean took out our identification chips." Harry knew that his family would find him one day, but he didn't expect it so soon.
A certain emotion flashed across Keza's eyes.He shrugged. "Didn't you ask your mother to return to Terra? So there is no suspense about your whereabouts. Besides, our sense of kinship has been broken again. Obviously you are on a distant planet." Keza's lips floated a trace of contempt sneer. "I know that Sean guy is reckless, but I thought you could be better than him. Is stupidity contagious?"
"Don't be so mean," Harry frowned at Keza's harsh, acid tone.He never understood why Keza looked down on Sean so much, and never concealed it.Keza was usually calm, but he was blatantly mean to Sean. "That's not kind to say about your consort."
Annoyance flashed across Keza's face.Apparently he didn't like being reminded that Sean wasn't just Harry's buddy, he was his mate.
Harry understood for the first time why Sean was so determined to sever his bond with Urza.Harry would not want to be tied to such a person who despised himself for the rest of his life.
Moreover, their bond is obviously not quite right, it is not normal for a bond that hates each other.Generally speaking, bond will put an end to this kind of thing.Even if they can't get them to have a good impression of each other, it's really the same situation.
"Honest? I'm not a kind person, Hacht." There was a hint of ridicule in Keza's voice. "You are the only one who has this illusion."
"It's not an illusion," Harry said. "I know that you are pretending to be cold, but you have a good heart."
Keza just shook his head, looking at him like the stupidest person in the world, but couldn't help showing a bit of affection. This just confirmed that Harry was right!right?
"It's unbelievable, you bastard is bleeding the same as my mother and I." Keza curled his lips. "It felt like a chick had hatched from K'Heller's nest."
"You're talking mean things again, don't say that about yourself, and about your mother," said Harry.Yes, their mother and Keza had stern and ruthless sides, but they were nothing like K'Helle, Kaluvia's highly venomous predator, Terra's snake, except More wings.
"I'm just telling the truth, not being mean," Keza muttered, and then his sharp eyes met Harry's again. "What are you doing here? Why do you want to return to Earth?"
Harry's lips were dry, and he stuck out his tongue and licked them. Before he could speak, the doorbell rang again, and Adam came.
Harry stiffened.
Adam smiled at him, and then his eyes flicked to Kza - who was still holding Harry's wrist.Adam stopped smiling, his shoulders visibly tensed.
He walked toward their table, his eyes fixed on Keza's hand.
Keza seemed to notice something, and when he turned away, Adam happened to walk beside them.
"Harry, who's this?" Adam walked past Keza on the shoulder, putting a hand on Harry's back.
The two big men exchanged a hard look across Harry.Adam's expression was slightly hostile, while Keza was a little hesitant.
Harry bit his lip, eyeing them warily. They are about the same size.In case of a fight, it's hard to say who would win, Harry thought.
He tried to extend his spiritual shield to Adam to prevent his mind from being invaded by induction. He didn't think Krsar would do it—it was illegal, after all—but he had to be careful.Keza is unscrupulous when he sees it necessary.Harry knew his brother, and in that regard, Keza was a bit of a sanctimonious, inconsistent man: he insisted that everyone obey the rules and the law, but he didn't hesitate to throw the rules behind him to make things easier.
Harry hoped that Keza would not try to hack into Adam's mind.If he did that, Harry's spirit shield would definitely attract his attention, and it was not as simple as "hesitating".Harry's sense is supposed to be level 1, and a level 1 sense cannot extend his spirit shield to others.
"This is my brother, Keza," said Harry.
Krsar's questioning gaze made Harry suddenly aware that his body had inadvertently nestled against Adam's touch. He straightened up quickly.
"Brother?" Adam asked.
"Xander," Keza corrected succinctly. "Alexander. Are you?"
Adam glanced at Harry, then looked back at Keza. "Adam Crawford." His voice was still cold.
"He's my roommate," Harry answered hastily.
He felt Adam's body stiffen, and at the same time he felt Adam's heart throbbing. He had to explain it again.
"Roommate," Keza repeated Harry's words, his eyes flicking over Adam's hand on Harry's nape, his expression enigmatic.
"Yes." Adam said seriously.
"Renting is expensive in London." Harry broke the tense silence.
"That goes without saying," Keza muttered, showing a friendly smile. It's kind of scary. It was rare for Kesak to smile so kindly for no reason. "But now that I'm here, you don't need to worry anymore. Leave it to me."
Harry felt Adam's anger rising. Before he could speak, Keza stared at him and said, "Mother is very anxious, she is waiting for you to go back. Let's pick up Sean and leave."
Adam gasped.
Harry took Adam's hand and sat still in his chair.
"Harry," Keza's pale eyes seemed to pierce him.
Harry took a deep breath, looked at Adam's irritable expression, and shook his head. "I'm not going," he said, looking at Adam.
Adam's clenched jaw loosened a little.
"What did you say?" Keza said in a bad tone.
Harry stood up, looking directly at Keza.Seeing the expression on his brother's face, he almost flinched. "I want to stay," he said hesitantly, taking a step closer to Adam and resting his back on Adam's chest.Adam wrapped his arms around him, resting his hands on his crotch.Suddenly Harry had a backbone and a lot more composure.
"I want to stay here." This time, his tone was firmer.
Keza stared at him for a moment, and then his gaze moved slowly to Adam's hand on Harry's crotch.Harry felt his face burn. The intimacy between him and Adam was so natural that if Keza had doubts about their relationship, he would surely have the answer by now.
Then Harry felt it - a strong sensory contact that shattered his spirit shield in seconds. He had never felt this way before, so he could only stare at Keza helplessly. Not only is this a huge invasion of privacy; it's logically impossible for it to happen. After the bond disappeared, Harry's sensory ability had reached at least level 3; and now all Kaluvians should be below level 2.Keza should not have such a strong ability. This should not happen.
"Where's your bond?" Keza's voice echoed in his mind, cold and stern.
Harry shook his head dazedly. He was completely confused about the situation. How did Keza do it?Keza made a bond, his induction should not be so strong.
"Answer me, Hachter."
Harry had a terrible headache and shivered. "Stop, I hurt," he said to Keza in his head.
The pressure faded then, but Keza continued to stare at him.
"I'll explain later," Harry spoke to Urza telepathically. "I promise."
"There's no 'later'. Right now. Get rid of that Earthling, or I'll drag you from here by force."
Harry looked at Keza pleadingly, but his brother was unmoved.
Harry sighed and turned to Adam. "I have to take my brother back to your apartment first," he said, looking down at their intertwined fingers.Adam's complexion was much darker than his, and Adam's fingers were almost brown against the backdrop of his snowy muscles. And his hand looked so small in Adam's.This gave Harry a strange feeling. He wanted to hide his hand in Adam's hand, he wanted to hide himself in Adam's body and never come out again. "He wants to see Sean. He's his fiancé," he reminded, playing with Adam's fingers.
"Harry," Adam called him.
Harry bit his lower lip and looked up at Adam.Adam's face was calm and expressionless, but he felt weird. "You won't leave me," he stated flatly. "Is it right?"
Keza cleared his throat impatiently behind Harry's back.
Harry ignored him, just met Adam's eyes.
He really wanted to tell Adam that he wasn't going anywhere and just wait for Adam to come home tonight.
But... can he guarantee it?According to Calluvia's laws, he cannot do as he pleases. He will not be allowed to reside on a planet like Earth.Kaluvians are not allowed to live on the former TNIT planets, only visit occasionally. The law prohibits them from intervening in the development process of emerging civilizations, and prohibiting them from sharing advanced knowledge and technology with these new civilizations.Harry understood that such rules were necessary. Before this law was introduced, there were many catastrophic precedents-some emerging civilizations caused great disasters due to their inability to properly control advanced technology. So, yes, Harry understood.
But that doesn't mean he accepts it all.
"Me," he said. "I..." He wanted to say something, to reassure Adam—and himself—that this wasn't the last time they'd see each other. But he glanced at Keza, whose grim expression made him speechless. There was no way Keza would allow him to stay on Earth. As much as Keza loved him, Harry couldn't hope to convince him to help him.Keza would never understand.K'za would probably grab him and Sean and send them back to Kaluvia, where the shaman would restore his bond with Raylan 'Heaney' Gul.
It can be said that there is no hope.
"Me," Harry choked out.He looked into Adam's dark eyes, and his throat tightened with some terrible emotion he couldn't name.
"Harry, that's enough." Keza's tone was rather ruthless. "Come with me."
Harry swallowed, looking at Keza's impatient and displeased face.He looked at Adam again, his vision gradually blurred.Panic struck, as if strangling him by the throat. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't breathe.
"Baby," Adam's grumpy expression turned concerned. "How are you?"
A scream escaped Harry's throat, and he slammed his face into Adam's chest, hugging Adam as tightly as he could, silent tears running down his cheeks and soaking Adam's shirt. He couldn't breathe.
Keza's voice seemed to be coming from far away, but it felt like some kind of white noise. All he could hear was Adam's low, soothing voice whispering love words in his ear.Adam's hand stroked his back to help him calm down.
Harry tried to calm down, but he couldn't because—because he finally realized that this was the last time he had Adam in his arms, the last time he heard Adam's voice, the last time he smelled Adam, Surrounded by Adam's strength for the last time, clinging to him.
Another wave of crushing panic hit him, and he hugged Adam even harder, never wanting to let go.
It was a while before Harry realized he was muttering something. "I don't want to go, don't make me, I need you—don't make me go—I need you—"
"Hacht," Keza's voice rang in his head. "Stop now. You're speaking Kaluvian."
Harry kept his mouth shut, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't stay calm. His heart was pounding in his chest, and his fingers gripped Adam's shirt tightly, refusing to let go.He won't let go.No.never.
"Baby," Adam ran his fingers through Khalifa. "Look at me. Please. Come, let me see your beautiful eyes."
Adam held his face and Harry lifted his head obediently from Adam's chest.Tears blurred his vision, and he could barely see Adam. Then, after a while, he realized that Adam was looking at him with a strange look.
"Harry," he said. "Your tears are pink."
Harry blinked, trying to figure out why it mattered. He heard Keza sigh behind him.
"The tears of people on Earth are colorless, Hacht." Keza's voice sounded in his head. "Good job. Go ahead and explain, and good luck."
But Harry had no time for that.He could only feel the pain, the longing that seemed to tear him apart, and the despair of losing everything.
"What the hell..." Adam murmured in bewilderment, touching Harry's cheek to wipe away his tears. "Are you bleeding?"
Harry turned to kiss his fingers.
"Hachter," Keza snapped in his head.
Harry didn't respond to Keza, just rubbed his cheek against Adam's hand.
"Harry," Adam didn't withdraw his hand, but caressed Harry's cheek and held his face, letting him continue his little movements.
Harry looked up into Adam's bewildered black eyes. Then, he said softly, "I love you."
Adam took a deep breath.Harry heard Keza make the same sound, but he ignored it, still looking at Adam. The longer Adam was silent, the more Harry's chest hurt.
"Habbo, you can't just be like that... you've got to give me an explanation—fuck—" Adam leaned down to kiss Harry, his lips so hungry and moist, so perfect. "Me too, baby," he murmured between lips and tongue. "I love you."
Harry was melted by the kiss. His ridiculous body tried desperately to embed itself inside Adam.Everything is gone, the whole world is Adam, but it's not enough—
He was ripped away from Adam.He opened his eyes and found himself facing Keza's stern face. "Let's leave now." Keza's voice was extremely steady.
Harry flinched.A seemingly calm Keza is far more terrifying than an angry Keza.
Before he could speak, Keza dragged him towards the door.
Harry looked back at Adam, hoping that he would stop him.But Adam didn't, he just stood there and didn't move.He looked odd: his eyes were unfocused and confused, as if he didn't know where he was or what was happening. He didn't even look in Harry's direction, rubbing his temples with a pained expression on his face.
A wave of fear filled Harry. He realized what Keza had done to Adam.
"What did you do to him?" Harry struggled desperately to get out of Korza's grasp. "What did you do?"
Keza didn't answer him, and he dragged Harry to a taxi, looking terribly ugly.He pushed Harry into the car and gave Adam's address to the driver in a stiff voice.
"How do you know Adam's address?" Harry looked back at the cafe. "Let me go back! Please, Keza."
The driver looked at them uncertainly. "Drive," Keza said.Of course, his strong aura made the driver obediently follow suit.
Harry opened his mouth, wanting to ask another question, to ask Keza to let him go back to Adam. But the look Keza shot at him made him silently give up.The intense anger and blame that radiated from Krsar made him feel sick.
He folded his hands in his lap and turned away.Anger and resentment burned him inside and out.He didn't know how to deal with his emotions. He had never been so angry, especially at his brother.
But there is another emotion stronger than anger.A deep sense of loss.
He felt a part of himself was lost in that café.Since then, he has been incomplete.

But... can he guarantee it?According to Calluvia's laws, he cannot do as he pleases.
