How to say this, Ryan Hardaway has no discrimination against gay people.Just ask his brothers—four of them, two comrades.

But that doesn't mean he has to be in his apartment, on his lot, smiling at the latest guy his best buddy has dated.

Ryan cleared his throat and the couple bounced away from each other in shock.Jamie's face was flushed, and his eyes were darting here and there, but he didn't meet Ryan. The red-haired man, on the other hand, looked a little smug.Ryan tightened his jaw.

"Hi, you're Ryan, right?" said the idiot. He took a step forward and held out his hand. "I'm Paul Lambert."

That hand was sweaty, Ryan squeezed it hard, and the other flinched.

"Thank you for letting us have a date at your place," Lambert said with a smile. "I'm so glad to finally meet Jamie's best friend. I hear him talk about you all the time."

"He didn't mention you to me," Ryan said, looking the man over from head to toe.

Lambert looked at Jamie uncertainly, and gave a short laugh, revealing the thin gap between his front teeth. "It hurts," he joked, then put his hand on Jamie's waist and pecked Jamie lightly on the mouth.

Ryan opened the door. "Nice meeting, Paul." He pretended not to see Jamie glaring at him.

"See you another day," he said, opening the door a little wider. "Sorry, I'm not in the mood to make friends today."

"Okay, I understand." Lambert showed that annoying smile again. "I wouldn't be happy if I came back from a busy day and found a stranger in the apartment."

"Glad we got it right," Ryan said, with a matching smirk. "goodbye."

He closed the door in front of the man, locked it, and sat down on the sofa.

"What—" Jamie panicked. "What the hell are you doing? Can you explain?"

"I'm not feeling well today." Ryan said, closing his eyes. "I'm not in the mood to talk to a fool with a smirk on his face, his hands are still sweating."

"A fool—what the hell do you think of Paul?"

"He looks mean," Ryan said. "I don't trust him."

"You don't know him at all!"

"I don't want to know either. Come here."

silence.

"Why?" Jamie finally asked.

Ryan couldn't help opening his eyes. "Because I'm not happy today." He spent two fucking weeks on that design, but Party A changed his mind, it was a subversive change, and he still gets angry when he thinks about it now. "I'm so angry and tired, I just want to hug my best friend - if he's still my best friend now."

Jamie's mouth fell open. "What do you mean by that?"

Ryan stared at him firmly. "Don't pretend you don't understand, Jamie."

Jamie looked down and bit his lip. "Are you complaining that I've been too busy lately?"

Ryan sneered. "Is it 'busy' to ignore a best friend for a month?"

"I didn't ignore you," Jamie said. His pale eyebrows furrowed.

"Let's do the math," Ryan said slowly. "We've only been out together four times this month. Two of them ended quickly because your dad told you to do something. The third time you left early because you had a date with Paul." He didn't bother to soften his voice.I'm really upset today.

"You have Hannah now," Jamie said, taking out his phone and playing.

"Hannah's my girlfriend," Ryan said.Jamie is still keen to work on his phone.

Ryan gritted his teeth. "I fucking want to kill my best friend, and that person is you."

Jamie paused for a while before slowly raising his head.He swallowed his throat and looked over guiltily. "Ryan, I—"

"I don't want to hear your explanation," Ryan said. "I just want my best buddy back."

Jamie's jaw twitched, his expression seemed to be mixed with different emotions. Finally, he spoke. His voice is calm and even. "It's natural for people to grow up and find a significant other and drift away."

He chuckled and said, "Everyone laughed at the two of us, saying that we always stick together."

"I'm having a fucking day," Ryan said. "Who cares about their nagging, I say hug if you want." He didn't expect that the words would rhyme a bit, so he couldn't help laughing, and opened his arms, "Come on, Baby Jamie Bear."

Jamie rolled his eyes, the corners of his mouth curled up.He walked over and fell on top of Ryan. "You're such a giant baby," Jamie said, putting his face on Ryan's shoulder, "If your brothers know you're in a bad mood and hug me like a teddy bear, they won't Let you go."

"You're not going to tell them," Ryan said.He wrapped his arms around Jamie tightly, closed his eyes, and the anxieties that had been building up deep inside him for the past month had washed away like a tide. "You won't tell them. Because you like me the most in the world."

Jamie could only sigh, and buried his face in the crescent of his neck.He didn't admit it, but he didn't deny it either.

"Don't do this again." Ryan opened his eyes and put his hands on Jamie's neck, "OK?"

Jamie didn't look up, fingers casually playing with the buttons of Ryan's black shirt. "You have Hannah, I thought you would have no time to accompany me in the future."

"What?" Ryan frowned, and he gently lifted Jamie's chin with his thumb. "Don't be stupid." He loved Hannah, her smile, her flawless fair skin, her golden hair. Hair, love her soft body.Ryan was absolutely sure they were meant to be.But she can't replace her best friend.Ryan had been having a fucking weird time last month, feeling so out of place for the first time in his life. His longing to see Jamie, to be enveloped by Jamie's warm smile, was always lurking in his mind.It didn't sound very masculine, but Ryan didn't care, he loved Jamie more than his siblings—he loved his brothers very much.

Ryan caught Jamie's eye. "We both have jobs, we're in relationships, but it's okay. You and I— nothing can shake our relationship, understand? You can't get rid of me. You Don't think I'm going to let you leave me for your dad or that idiot. You're mine first."

Jamie's pale cheeks flushed a little. He lowered his eyes, then met Ryan's eyes and laughed. "Could you be more mature? We're not kids anymore."

"I don't fucking care," Ryan said, pinching Jamie's nose.Jamie made a face and laughed.Ryan smiled too, feeling relieved and happy—just what he needed after a stressful day.

Jamie's company always works wonders.Even Hannah couldn't make him feel better so quickly, but Jamie could.

Jamie sighed, resting his head on Ryan's shoulder. "If Paul sees us like this, he probably misunderstood, you know."

Ryan snorted contemptuously. "As if I cared a lot."

"Come on," Jamie said, playing with Ryan's shirt buttons again. "Paul's a nice guy. I like him."

"I can't trust him," Ryan said bluntly. "I'm worried about handing you over to him."

He could hear Jamie rolling his eyes. "Hey, I can take care of myself. I don't need you to look after me."

"You need it," Ryan said. "Although we are not related by blood, it's not like you don't have brothers to take care of you."

Jamie was silent for a moment.

"I really like him," he said. "We got on really well."

Ryan looked at him, "Okay." If Jamie really likes this man, then he can only do his best to treat this man well. "I'll just be nice to him. But you have to make sure he doesn't—" He suddenly thought of something, staring sharply at Jamie. "Did you fuck him?"

Jamie's face flushed. "None of your business. But if you ask, I'll tell you, yes." He looked almost defiant.

Ryan opened his mouth and closed it again.Honestly, he didn't know what to say at all.The fact that Jamie had agreed to do that with the slob was vaguely...repulsive, but it really wasn't his business.

So he could only sigh and said, "Don't mess with him here. If you do, I'll burn this place down."

Jamie gave a heartless smile, "Who says we haven't had sex here?"

"You lied," Ryan said bluntly.

"We did it in your bed," Jamie said, laughing. "God, your expression!"

"You little—" Ryan flipped Jamie over and started tickling him.Jamie tossed and turned under him, gasping for breath with laughter.

It didn't take long for Jamie to beg for mercy. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry—stop it! We haven't done this here, can we?"

Ryan stopped. "Asshole, I almost threw up."

Just laughed, Jamie's face was still flushed, and he smiled at Ryan and said, "Don't worry, no one messed up your baby bed. Well, I slept on it for a while after I came, and I Too tired. Paul wanted to lie down too, but I told him the bed was 'off-limits'."

"Give me back the house keys." Ryan's face was distorted.

Jamie's expression became serious, "Besides here, Paul and I have no other place to date, other places will be seen by others. His house is not good either, it is under renovation."

"Your parents don't know about this yet?" Ryan said.

Jamie shook his head, making a small grimace.

Ryan looked at him probingly: "Are you still planning to come out?"

"Plan, let's do it later." Jamie bit his lips. "Will you accompany me when I'm ready? Give me some moral support?"

Although Ryan didn't understand that Jamie and Lambert were going so smoothly, why didn't they seek Lambert's moral support, but it was undeniable that Jamie still couldn't do without him in major matters, which made him very satisfied.

"Of course." He returned a lazy smile. "I don't want to miss the look on Arthur's face when that happens - nothing misses this."

Jamie patted Ryan on the head, "Can you be serious?"

Ryan stopped smiling. "I'm serious right now," he said, looking Jamie straight in the eye. "You know, I'm always there for you. No matter what happens, no matter what time, whatever you need, I'm here for you, always."

Jamie's eyes sparkled, and he smiled and said, "I know."

"If Lambert hurts you—"

"I'm really on good terms with him, Ryan, really." Jamie smiled wider.

Ryan looked at him suspiciously.Maybe his displeasure with Paul was just an error of judgment, but he still couldn't believe Jamie was telling the truth.

Paul Lambert is no match for Jamie.
