Chapter 59 Little Hangleton

Hangleton Township.

This is a small town in the southeast of England, specifically in Surrey.

It is famous for its traditional agricultural life and isolation. After the Industrial Revolution and two world wars, this remote town has not been affected much and has maintained a relatively closed and traditional lifestyle.

The English accents in different parts of the UK vary greatly. The unique southern accent here makes it sound more like another foreign language to outsiders, and also makes the locals more cohesive and xenophobic.

There is a stream here that divides the town into two parts: Little Hangleton and Big Hangleton. Although there is a small word in the name, Little Hangleton is the place where the residents are more concentrated and prosperous, while Big Hangleton is more remote and desolate.

The Gaunt family values luxury and ostentation, and in order to maintain their noble bloodline they constantly engage in inbreeding. As a result, their ancestors' wealth had long been squandered by previous generations who were equally rude and arrogant.

So in the 1920s, the last member of this pure-blood family, regarded as crazy vagabonds by local Muggles, could only live in a shabby house four miles from Little Hangleton, closer to Great Hangleton.

The two old people led the children and walked in the thick weeds, one step deep and one step shallow. It was a bit difficult to walk. No one had passed by here for a long time, and there was no road anymore.

Finally arrived at the old house of the Gaunt family.

Half hidden among the tangled trees and tall, dense nettles between two steep hillsides was an abandoned house - Alison actually preferred to call it a collapsing shed.

The walls were covered with moss, the tiles on the roof were falling off, and the innermost rafters were exposed in some places.

The nettles outside the house grew all the way to the windows. The windows were small and covered with thick, old dirt, making the little sunlight that filtered through the eerie, abandoned house appear fragmented and blurry.

On the broken door was nailed an S-shaped dead snake, symbolizing the pure blood of Slytherin. The house had three very small rooms, and the large room in the middle served as both kitchen and living room. It was full of dust, mildew, and even weeds growing vigorously from the cracks.

The original owner of this place, Morfin Gaunt, was knocked unconscious by Tom Riddle, who was looking for his origins. Tom took away his wand and killed the entire Riddle family of Muggles. He also implanted false memories in Morfin and framed him, making everyone believe that it was Morfin who killed those Muggles.

The Gaunt family's ancestral ring, the Soul Resurrection Ring, was also taken away by Voldemort at that time.

Dumbledore once found Morfin in Azkaban and found the modified real memories. In exchange, he bailed Morfin out.

However, Morfin died of physical weakness due to his long years in Azkaban. Before he was released from prison, this self-proclaimed noble descendant of Gaunt died without anyone noticing.

Standing beside the nettle bush, looking at the dilapidated house, Dumbledore, who was leading the way, spoke softly.

"Here we are."

Alison raised her hand, and the dirt around her quickly condensed into a tall clay golem.

The stone demon was controlled by the summoner to loyally open the creaking door and carefully search the interior of Gaunt's old house bit by bit.

The knowledgeable old headmaster was surprised by this new magic, but then he and Gellert kept a close eye on the old house, secretly alert.

The soul-restoring stone ring is actually quite easy to find. It is placed in a not-so-remote location and is well protected by black magic.

After all, Voldemort himself seemed to have inherited some of the Gaunts' characteristics. Even if they did not acknowledge each other, some similar things were still passed down through their blood.

He likes to collect souvenirs, objects with powerful magic and historical significance. Arrogant, crazy, cold, with a sense of superiority and determination to gain status...

The soulless stone demon was unmoved by the protective black magic around the ring, and the huge hand of earth simply came out holding the ring.

Dumbledore and Grindelwald immediately noticed something was wrong.

The ugly big gold ring was inlaid with a black diamond-shaped gemstone engraved with the Peverell coat of arms. One of the three Deathly Hallows that was made into a Horcrux was now emitting an indescribable evil and dark aura, desperately tempting people around to wear it.

Dumbledore felt an indescribable urge to pick up the ring and revive his lost family. Grindelwald was better, but not so sober and calm.

It was Alison's freezing spell that interrupted this desire.

The ice that instantly condensed under the huge magic power formed an ice wall as high as a person's shoulder, completely blocking their contact with the stone demon.

The sudden chill sobered people's fanatical minds a little.

As Alison said, she was the only one who was not affected. Alison, who had no need to revive the dead, stared at her parents with her blue eyes.

The two parents came to their senses, took a deep breath, and with serious expressions, two different voices reminded their daughter in a deep voice at the same time.

"Be careful not to be affected by it."

"Don't touch it."

Alison pursed her lips and smiled to reassure them: "Of course, after all, there is no one I want to resurrect."

The two nodded, silently observing the young wizard dealing with this, ready to stop Alison if she fell under the influence of the evil thoughts of the Horcrux.

Alison first lit the Fiendfyre and burned it towards the Horcrux held by the Golem. The Fiendfyre burned the ring held by the Golem, and even gradually spread along the Golem's arm to the whole body. The clay Golem just remained quiet and motionless.

The black diamond-shaped stone remained intact even in the fierce fire. This ancient one, one of the three deathly holy vessels that was even related to the god of death, was indeed strange.

The ugly gold ring setting began to char and break, oozing out a black and sticky substance like old blood, accompanied by distant and faint screams.

Even though it was filled with dark magic traps and protections, and was the most evil dark magic item, the Horcrux, it had no resistance to Fiendfyre, who was also a dark magic.

The three of them stared at the ring setting being burned to ashes - Alison was originally a little nonchalant, but was influenced by the parents and had to become serious.

The clay golem was also gradually burned in the red flames, and the black diamond-shaped stone fell lightly onto the grass.

The traces of dark magic on the Soul-Returning Stone are so complex that they are difficult to accurately identify.

Alison was still looking at it cautiously at this time. She took out the half-conscious goblin from her pocket and threw it accurately, hitting the Soul-Returning Stone to prevent the deadly curse from still existing.

The goblins and the stones are fine.

Then, the fierce fire python curled up next to it swallowed this magical creature that should not appear in the Muggle world.

She was still a little hesitant and picked up the stone with her white-gloved hands.

Dumbledore and Grindelwald came over and looked at the palm of their daughter's hand, which was one of the three Deathly Hallows that they had studied and longed for when they were young.
