Hogwarts: I am the White Lord
Chapter 408 Snape's Unique Technique
After dinner, Harry left the Great Hall and walked along the empty corridor towards the basement, calculating in his mind as he walked.
Professor Swann mentioned that Professor Snape was very powerful, and Malfoy also said that Professor Snape was good at Occlumency. So it seemed perfect to ask him for help.
The most important thing is that Professor Snape is one of his closest professors. If it is him, seeing some of his memories doesn't seem to be a big deal.
Harry's footsteps echoed softly on the stone floor, and the air around him became cooler as he walked deeper and deeper. Finally, he stopped in front of the familiar black wooden door, took a deep breath, then raised his hand and knocked lightly three times.
The door did not open immediately, but Snape's deep voice came: "Come in!"
When I pushed open the door, a mixture of the smell of herbs and potions hit me in the face. The ceiling light in the office was off, and only a magic desk lamp was on on the desk. The light was soft but revealed a hint of mystery.
Snape sat in a high-back chair, looking down at a magic book that looked quite old.
Seeing Harry come in, his facial features softened a lot. Although his voice was still as low as usual, it was much gentler than when he spoke to others: "What do you want from me?"
"Professor," Harry took two steps closer and scratched the back of his head sheepishly, "I wonder... could you help me practice Occlumency?"
"Oh? Haven't you been practicing with Sebastian?" Snape closed the book, smiled slightly, and pointed to the chair opposite him: "Sit down."
"It's like this. Professor Swan and I agreed on a six-month deadline. Now that the time is almost up, I want to ask you to give me some extra help."
"Half a year? I heard that you no longer have nightmares. Haven't you met Sebastian's requirements yet?"
"Not enough," Harry nodded. "Professor Swann said that the standard I have to meet is that even if I stand in front of Voldemort, he can't see through my true thoughts."
It's hard to tell what the mysterious man is thinking even when he's in person. The stinky swan's demands are really high.
Snape raised his eyebrows imperceptibly. "It's not easy to achieve this goal within half a year. Also, don't mention that name, he can sense it."
"Well, wait here for me, I'll make some preparations."
As he said this, he stood up, returned to the bedroom behind the office, put his wand against his temple, carefully pulled out some memories, and then put them into the Pensieve.
After doing all this, he returned to the office again and said to Harry: "Since you have already practiced the brain block technique, let's go directly to the attack and defense stage. Let me check your current level."
Harry nodded, took a deep breath, and silently began to work on his Occlumency, "I'm ready, Professor."
"Then count to three. You try to resist my attack first and test the strength of your defense." Snape raised his wand. "1-2-3, Legilimency!"
Strong and resilient, with solid basic skills.
"Try your best. Let me see your limit." As he said this, Snape began to increase his strength, violently breaking through the defense that Harry had built in his mind.
Harry concentrated and tried hard to resist wave after wave of attacks, and soon beads of sweat began to appear on his forehead.
The pressure was huge, and it was nothing compared to Malfoy's attack. It turned out to be the right choice to come to Professor Snape.
"Good resilience." After a long moment, Snape lowered his wand. "No loopholes. You have done a good job in this regard."
"However, you should know that this method is very time-consuming, so in most cases we only use it as a warning to detect others' snooping at the first opportunity."
"The key lies in the memory maze. We need to make it so that the enemy can't tell the difference between truth and falsehood."
"On the count of three," Snape raised his wand again, "and deceive me to your heart's content. Legilimency!"
In an instant, Snape saw some of the thoughts in Harry's mind:
Today's dinner was good, the chicken legs were delicious, and the borscht was also tasty;
What should I eat tomorrow morning? Will I drink milk again? I feel a little tired of drinking it every day.
What to eat at noon tomorrow?
What are we having for dinner tomorrow night?
Watching the scenes flashing through Harry's mind, the corners of Snape's mouth slowly curled up.
Not bad!
I can imagine myself packaging myself as a foodie in the maze of memory, and combining it with the memory of dinner to make everything in my mind extremely natural and seem like it was real.
Being able to achieve this shows that Harry has indeed put in a lot of hard work in this regard.
"Very good. You didn't just use false memories to deceive the attacker. Instead, you used some daily redundant memories to fill the memory maze. It seems that you have grasped the essence." Snape praised.
"Get ready. I'm going to start verbal stimulation and verbal induction on you."
It was not until this point that Snape discovered the flaw in Harry's memory maze.
That is, the other party's memory retrieval speed is always half a beat slower. After a little thought, Snape understood why this was the case.
To put it bluntly, it was Harry who was processing the corresponding memories, which caused him to be a step behind.
To be honest, Harry's performance completely exceeded Snape's expectations. If he had not been proficient in the art of Occlumency, he would not have noticed the subtle differences.
"Harry, your memory processing speed is a little slow, and every time you are half a beat late, it seems very deliberate." Snape began to explain Harry's shortcomings.
"When processing memories, don't think about replacing them completely with false ones, but make sure there are both true and false ones. In extreme cases, nine true and one false will suffice. The purpose is to speed up memory processing and make the reaction real."
"In addition, high-end brain occlumency is a test of your acting skills. You need to consider the personality of the enemy you are facing, and when they speak, what kind of language, actions, and thoughts you need to use to confuse them."
"You need to be more careful in this regard. Don't just let the other party look through your memory maze. Instead, take the initiative and control the situation."
Snape guided Harry patiently, and every word he said was precise, straightforward and without reservation.
He slowly and steadily imparted his experience, guiding Harry to perfect the art of Occlumency from an acting perspective.
This new approach opened Harry's eyes and he said he benefited a lot from it.
One of them was focused on teaching, while the other was absorbing knowledge eagerly. Both of them were immersed in this rare learning atmosphere.
Just as Harry was trying to integrate the techniques taught by Snape, a sudden knock on the door broke the silence in the office.
"Severus, are you there?"
