King Li Chenyang was the first to notice the distress in Xueyue’s eyes. Her face was paler than usual. His lips curled in a disapproving frown. He decided to see a doctor before going to work in the morning. It was time for her to get used to the bitter herbal tonic. At least she would sleep better.

“Your food is barely touched,” King Li Chenyang pointed out. His tone was gentle and reassuring. He didn’t want to overwhelm her, nor did he want her to seem angry that she had no appetite.

"I'm not hungry today," Li Xueyue said, trying to sound cheerful and not to cause any concern.

Li Xueyue put down her chopsticks. "I'm sorry, I had a rough night," she admitted. "Mind calling a doctor?"

"Of course." King Li Chenyang responded enthusiastically. "I was planning to do that."

Li Xueyue smiled appreciatively. "Thank you, father."

Hearing her politeness, the corners of Li Chenyang's mouth slightly raised. After so many years, she still hasn't changed. At least she knows how to cherish what she has.

"Child, you don't have to thank me." King Li Chenyang gestured for her to eat more.

“I’m sorry,” Li Xueyue said. It was a force of habit. She couldn’t help but express her gratitude to everyone. They had done so much for her. She wanted to find a way to make them proud.

"My dear, you don't have to apologize." Duchess Wang Qixing said.

Duchess Wang Qixing's attention fell on Xueyue's dark complexion again. Her dark circles became more and more serious, and her cheeks began to sag.

"How about I make you some chamomile tea, and then we can cancel today's training? A good sleep can relieve your fatigue." Duchess Wang Qixing said.

Li Xueyue nodded slowly. Her smile became even brighter. "Thank you, Mom." She replied in a low voice.

Duchess Wang Qixing patted Xueyue's hand lovingly. "Go and have a rest. I'll make tea after dinner."

"It's okay." Li Xueyue said. "I'll ask a servant to get it. You can eat it."

Li Wenmin's attention finally focused on her. When he looked at her, his eyes were full of worry. Seeing her like this, he felt very heavy.

"Xueyue." He said. "You have terrible bags under your eyes."

"Thanks for the compliment, Vin," she said with a smile. "You sure know how to charm a lady, don't you?"

Li Wenmin slumped in his chair. "You know that's not what I meant," he explained. "How about we use up all that energy so you can fall asleep faster?"

"No thanks," Li Xueyue said. She pushed her chair back and stood up without saying a word. Her eyes met the Duke's, and the Duke nodded in greeting.

"Excuse me," she whispered before leaving the breakfast table.

"Then there will be four." Li Wenmin said as he picked up a chicken leg.

“Thank you for pointing out the obvious,” Li Chenyang said sarcastically. “Without this contribution, the whole family would have been kept in the dark.”

Li Wenmin resisted the urge to throw the chicken leg at his brother's head. Where did he learn such a bad attitude? !

"What will we do?" Duchess Wang Qixing asked deliberately. She turned to her husband, who had also noticed the tension between the two sisters.

King Li Chenyang hummed. He drank his morning tea while thinking about his next decision. He didn't expect that his two daughters would dislike each other so quickly, but this was also expected, wasn't it?

"They don't like each other," King Li Chenyang said finally. "It's obvious, but I'm not surprised."

Li Chenyang sighed. He put down his cutlery while his brother continued to stuff food into his throat.

"Because Minghua feels that he has been replaced by Xueyue." Li Chenyang said.

"What?" Duchess Wang Qixing was annoyed. She was shocked by the news and her eyes widened.

"But we would never do such a thing to our Minghua," said Duchess Wang Qixing. "Taking Xueyue into our family is like having another daughter. A mother can never replace her children, and we love them equally."

King Li Chenyang pursed his lips. "I can understand why she would think so. Xueyue came at a convenient time for us."

"How are we going to solve this problem?" Li Chenyang asked. His mouth curved up as he saw Wenmin stuff a whole egg into his mouth.

"I'll go talk to Minghua myself," Duchess Wang Qixing suggested. "I know she'll listen to me."

King Li Chenyang raised an eyebrow. "Our daughter is a stubborn one. It will take more than one lecture to get through her thick head."

"Humph, I don't know where she got it from." Duchess Wang Qixing said through gritting her teeth.

"I won't lie," Li Wenmin said as he ate his food. "If I were her, I would feel the same way."

King Li Chenyang could not deny that he did see similarities between Minghua and Xueyue when they were asleep. This was what prompted him to bring Xueyue home from the forest on that fateful morning.

"Worst case scenario," Duchess Wang Qixing began. "If they still can't get along, I will force them into the same room and won't let them out until they hug each other and call a truce."

"No, don't do that." King Li Chenyang said firmly. "It will make them hate each other."

Li Chenyang didn't like this kind of talk, especially the light in his father's eyes. "So what do you suggest we do, Dad?"

"Let them resolve the conflict themselves. We shouldn't stir up anything unless things get out of control," said Duke Li Chenyang.

"So basically, let's just keep the awkward atmosphere going." Li Chenyang muttered. "Good idea. Thanks for your input."

"Don't lose your temper with me, son." Li Chenyanggong smiled. "Trust me. It's better for them to solve the problem themselves. If we force them to do anything or teach them a lesson, it will only make the problem worse."

Li Chenyang bit his nails. What his father said made sense. He couldn't deny it. He knew that Xueyue and Minghua were both stubborn and didn't listen. It would take more than one attempt to teach them a lesson.

"Okay," Li Chenyang said. "We'll let them handle it for now, but if the problem gets worse, then you have to intervene."

Li Chenyang nodded in response. "Breakfast is over, I have to rush to the court. There is no doubt that the court is in a mess now. Chenyang, come with me."

"Do I have any choice?" Li Chenyang muttered as he stood up. He looked down and found that Wen Min had not stopped sucking the food.

Li Chenyang was so angry that he slapped his brother on the head.

"Ouch!" Li Wenmin rubbed the spot and cried out. "What is that for?!"

"Chenyang!" Princess Wang Qixing frowned, "You shouldn't hit your brother."

Li Chenyang stared at his twins in annoyance. "Stop eating and try to contribute to the conversation next time!"

"The food was so good, I couldn't help myself. Also, I couldn't give good advice."

Li Chenyang was too lazy to respond. He walked to the door and was the first to leave, accompanied only by his father.

"Then there were two." Li Wenmin repeated.

"Or one," he added as Duchess Wang Qixing stood up.

Duchess Wang Qixing looked at her son's pouting face and laughed. "Eat. I'll go to the garden."

"Okay..." Li Wenmin's voice gradually lowered as he watched his mother leave the restaurant. "Well, I'm fine like this! Give me more food anyway.
