Breakfast the next morning was quiet and awkward. No one spoke during the entire meal. The only sound was the occasional clink of chopsticks hitting porcelain bowls and plates.

Li Xueyue lost her usual appetite due to a night of restlessness. She was tired from playing with the braised egg in her rice. She raised her head lazily and saw Li Wenmin happily serving her favorite dish into Minghua's bowl.

"I don't like eggs." Li Minghua frowned slightly and said, "Have you forgotten?"

"Oh." Li Wenmin replied. He smiled. "This dish is so delicious. I think you will like it."

"No, thank you." Li Minghua muttered. "Eating too many eggs is not good for your health. We should eat more vegetables here." She pushed a plate of leafy vegetables to the reluctant twins.

Li Wenmin poked with disgust. What was he? A cow? A rabbit? He didn’t like vegetables, he liked meat.

Li Chenyang rolled his eyes. "Eat. What are you? Five?"

"Yeah, five minutes older than you." Li Wenmin retorted, and then pushed the plate to his brother. "Why don't you eat it?"

"I will, thank you." Li Chenyang said.

Li Wenmin frowned as he watched his brother finish his meal. He looked away and met Xueyue's gaze.

"Why don't you eat?" Li Wenmin asked. "You always race with me to finish my second bowl of rice."

"I'm not that hungry today." Li Xueyue said with a smile. She looked at his second bowl of rice and chuckled. "They wouldn't call you a piglet for no reason."

“Huh, at least I’m a cute person.” Li Wenmin snorted. He pushed the plate towards her. “Eat, you need some energy for training.”

Li Xueyue nodded slowly. She picked up the pickles and put a few in the bowl, but didn't eat. She was too upset and too tired to have an appetite. How did Li Minghua know her background? She bit her lower lip and poked at the rice.

"What training?" Li Minghua asked.

"It's none of your business." Li Chenyang sneered. "Eat your food."

Li Minghua frowned. "You are still the same. Such unnecessary harshness will only make you achieve nothing in front of the ladies."

Li Chenyang narrowed his eyes. "You have been in the palace for so many years, and you have not felt a bit of humility."

"Be quiet," Duchess Wang Qixing ordered. "Both of you," she added. She put some more side dishes into Minghua's bowl, smiling warmly.

"Eat, my little flower." She said gently. "You are so thin. The palace must have starved you to death. Come, eat more meat. I remember that this is your favorite food."

"Thank you, Mom." Li Minghua said happily. She stuffed the meat into her mouth. "I like your cooking better."

“Really?” Duchess Wang Qixing asked. Upon hearing the news, she was ecstatic, her eyes sparkling. It had been a long time since she last cooked for her daughter.

"I didn't expect you to remember." Duchess Wang Qixing gushed. "Will you stay home? If so, I'll make lunch. It's all your favorite food!"

"Mom, I like it this way." Li Minghua smiled brightly and swung her legs happily under the table.

When a foot touched Li Xueyue's calf, Li Xueyue let out a low hiss. She looked away and gritted her teeth, already knowing who had done it. The only person sitting opposite her was Minghua, who ruined the meal with a gloating expression on his face.

"What's wrong?" Li Minghua asked innocently, tilting his head.

Li Chenyang frowned, looking puzzled. He turned to Xueyue, whose eyes were burning with fire.

"Someone kicked me." Li Xueyue said expressionlessly. "I want to know who it was."

"Oh, no, dear sister, it must be me. If you hadn't stretched your legs and sat like a proper lady, perhaps this wouldn't have happened." Li Minghua shrugged and said.

Duchess Wang Qixing sighed softly. "Minghua, you shouldn't be like this."

"Mom, I didn't mean it." Li Minghua replied. "She is my sister, why would I hurt her on purpose?"

Duchess Wang Qixing's expression softened a little. She missed Minghua's voice. "You're right, pay attention to your behavior next time."

"I will, Mom." Li Minghua smiled shyly.

Li Chenyang has no chance. "Apologize."

Li Minghua's smile disappeared instantly. She turned to her brother and glared at him. "This wasn't intentional."

"Apologize now." Li Chenyang glared at her. His focused gaze seemed to bore a hole in her forehead. His voice was low and angry, leaving no room for argument.

"No." Li Minghua said angrily. "She bullied me in the palace, but you acted as if I bullied her!"

"That's because you, as a servant, have let you down." Li Chenyang shouted sternly. "If you had fulfilled your duties, you would not have been punished."

Li Minghua was startled by his harsh words. Her eyes were filled with tears. She looked as if the whole world had wronged her. She snorted, stood up from the table, and ran out the door.

Li Chenyang stood up in frustration.

"Sit down," King Li Chenyang finally said. "Your sister is just emotional. Leave her alone."

"She hasn't changed at all." Li Chenyang retorted. He sat down again and stabbed the egg angrily.

"Chen Yang." Duchess Wang Qixing sighed. "You should be nicer to her. She has finally returned to us. You were like this before the incident."

"What about Xueyue?" Li Chenyang asked. "She had been sitting there quietly, doing nothing but eating, and Minghua just kicked her."

Every pair of eyes fell on Xueyue who was sitting there. Their eyes were uncomfortable. She suddenly felt unwelcome here. She knew they meant no harm, but the atmosphere was strange - it was as if everyone didn't know what to do with her.
