Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 239 Redeem yourself
"Father." Li Chenyang screamed. "Did you really let Wen Jinkai leave with the hairpin?"
King Li Chenyang just turned back to his son. "He will treat the hairpin fairly."
"What if he gives it to the Queen?" Li Chenyang frowned. "We can't let him leave like this."
"He won't hand it over," King Li Chenyang said firmly. "I believe this boy is more trustworthy than we initially thought."
Li Chenyang gritted his teeth. He stared at the open door and decided that if his father wasn't going to take action, then he would.
"son-"
Li Chenyang ignored his father. He grabbed the diary from his sleeve and ran out the door, chasing after Wen Jinkai.
Li Chenyang shook his head slowly at the two impatient teenagers who had fled the private study. "My silly son, if you show him the diary now, he will collapse."
King Li Chenyang walked to the chair and sat down, sighing deeply. "I have done everything I can for Minghua, the rest is up to you."
"Sir, sir?!" he shouted as the stable boy was halfway through brushing the commander's horse and came face to face with the demon king.
Wen Jinkai pushed the stable boy off the horse. He quickly jumped into the saddle and started to walk out of the stable.
"Wen Jinkai, just stop!" Li Chenyang asked as he stood at the door of the stable, blocking Wen Jinkai from leaving.
“Don’t block my way!” Wen Jinkai’s voice was so loud that it almost shook the walls of the stable. Seeing his fierce expression, there was nothing to say. His eyes fell on murder. His eyes were full of threats and full of vows of death. No one could escape his anger today.
"Just as my father said." Li Chenyang gritted his teeth. "The person who set the fire might be your mother!"
"I don't need you to act like a damn parrot today," Wen Jinkai said. "Go now before I crush you into a pulp."
"Do you want to know how Minghua feels about you?"
At this point, Wen Jinkai fell silent. "How do you know how she feels?"
Li Chenyang held a book in his hand, which was weathered and old. "Did you know that my sister has the habit of writing a diary?"
Wen Jinkai stiffened. He didn't know. He didn't quite understand what she did with her free time. Whatever she decided to waste her time on was none of his business.
Li Chenyang frowned. "If you still doubt my father's words, please read this article," he said, stomping over to the horse and handing it over.
Wen Jinkai looked down at the notebook. Reluctantly, he snatched it from Li Chenyang. "Thank you," he said gruffly.
Li Chenyang stared at the ground. Hearing his words of praise meant nothing to him. “You must return it after reading it.”
"It's as if the Li family will always welcome me back here."
Li Chenyang looked up at Wen Jinkai. "If you want to make up for what you did to my sister, you'd better start choosing sides as soon as possible."
Wen Jinkai did not respond. He did not need to. The answer was already clear.
Li Chenyang watched angrily as Wen Jinkai rode away on his horse, raising a cloud of mud behind him.
Li Chenyang walked out of the stable quickly, only to see the horse staggering out of the house and disappearing into the distance. Wen Jinkai was walking towards the palace.
Li Chenyang predicted that this result would not be favorable to many people. He sighed, looked up at the sky, and found that the sun was hidden behind a dark cloud.
There will be a storm today.
palace.
"Your Majesty, I have checked according to your instructions. As expected, the Marshal has returned from his trip." A maid knelt down in front of Queen Wuyi and said.
Queen Huiyun looked up from where she was embroidering. The proud words of Wen Jinkai's name were spelled out in front of her. She was embroidering the sword part, and she smiled at the thought of giving it to him as a gift.
"How long has he been home?" Queen Huiyun held up the embroidery, looked at it from a different angle, and asked softly. If only every day could be as happy as today. She missed doing small tasks like this. Despite this, she was still happy that her embroidery skills had not declined.
When was the last time she did something like this? Customized handkerchiefs. She didn’t know if Wen Jinkai would like it. It had been almost three years since the Queen had embroidered it.
The servant bowed his head. "It appears the Commander has been back for at least an hour. He was last seen heading toward his chambers."
Empress Huiyun nodded slowly and inserted the needle into the silk. She showed it to the servant, who took a look and quickly lowered his head.
"The design and workmanship are truly magnificent, Your Majesty. The Commander will surely enjoy this gift."
Queen Huiyun nodded. She was in a really good mood today. Many of her concerns were dispelled. Well, there was still Li Xueyue at large, but as long as that girl didn't leave the palace, Queen Huiyun would be satisfied.
The palace is her territory. Whoever dares to be her enemy will be defeated.
"It's here, everything is over." Queen Huiyun touched the embroidered name of Wen Jinkai and sighed.
"Prepare tea and snacks and send them to his room." Queen Huiyun stood up and slowly took the silk off the embroidery frame.
"Yes, Your Majesty," the servant said. She stood up dutifully, slowly and carefully avoiding turning her back to the Queen.
Queen Huiyun snorted. Her smile widened when she saw the handkerchief was intact. Not a single thread was loose. His favorite color. She found it strange that a man like him would like blush, light purple, and sky blue. But none of this mattered. Everyone has their own preferences.
Queen Hye-un wondered if the color of the handkerchief was a little too girly, but then shrugged it off. Only the clouds and the sunset were that color, and the rest, like his name and the sword, were sewn in a darker hue.
"I'm so tired," Queen Huiyun muttered, rolling her sore shoulders. Maybe she'd ask one of her servants to give her a massage later.
The same servant gasped as the tall man opened the door.
Queen Huiyun’s eyes lit up. Her son came to see her voluntarily? This was indeed a surprise! She turned around happily, delighted to see him.
"Mother."
Queen Huiyun's vibrant smile began to fade. She had never seen him like this before. Even the storm outside was no match for his thunderous expression. A dark cloud enveloped his perfect features.
Wen Jinkai was furious.
