Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble

Yu Zhen knelt in front of her and caught her shoulders before they hit the ground. She was not unconscious, though. She curled up, rocking back and forth like an alienated child.

"This isn't true, this isn't true, this isn't true!" She covered her ears and muttered under her breath.

Yu Zhen didn't expect her to react like this. He thought he would scare her before telling her the truth.

She kept shaking.

“Sunshine, what’s wrong?” Yu Zhen asked softly. He tried to stop her weird behavior, but it only got worse.

"This isn't real, this isn't true, monsters aren't real, Bai Xueyue."

Bai Xueyue? Yu Zhen narrowed his eyes. So they didn’t lie to him. He had the right target.

Yu Zhen needed to do something. Was this a panic attack? He had never seen one before. Not knowing what to do, he put his arms around her, but she struggled. She clawed, kicked, punched, she did everything she could.

"Don't touch me!" she screamed. "I'm not going to hell with you!"

Did she think he was a monster who was going to drag her to Diyu? Yu Zhen's face softened. He immediately regretted everything.

"My little sunshine," Yu Zhen whispered, his fingers digging deep into her shoulders, forcing her to stop. She continued to fight him, fighting for her whole life.

Although Yu Zhen scratched his face fiercely, he remained patient. He immediately grabbed the hand. She pulled her limbs hard.

“Monsters are real,” he deadpanned.

She froze, shocked by his words.

"Everyone in this world is a monster."

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" she screamed, clawing at her throat for air.

Yu Zhen also grabbed her other hand to prevent her from moving. "Are you afraid of them? Is that so, Yangguang?"

She didn't know who Sunshine was. She just wanted to escape from that room. She hated that room. It was dark and narrow, and there were strange noises coming from it. Her stomach was growling for food.

Li Xueye began to confuse the present and the past, and everything merged together to form a huge nightmare.

"Don't touch me!" she screamed, her voice almost shattering his eardrums. It was so loud that it reminded him of a banshee.

"Monsters could be real," he said, pulling her against him and hugging her. She struggled against his grip but was unable to subdue him.

"But I promise you, Sunshine..." Yu Zhen tightened his grip. A dark, sinister look flashed across his face. "Forever, I will kill every monster that dares to touch you."

Finally, she stopped fighting him.

"Those who hurt you will suffer a fate worse than death."

"You're lying. No one can kill them."

"I can, I will."

"No, my demons won't die because they don't live under my bed, they live in my head."

Yu Zhen took a deep breath. He hadn't expected her trauma to be so deep. "Then let's conquer those demons together."

"..."

"I swear on my life."

"Pinky...promise?"

Yu Zhen felt his heart tighten at the sound of her timid voice, like a frightened child. He thought of a little boy trapped in his room without a soul. A little boy who never smiled or laughed. When he wasn't studying or writing, he observed people. Watched them giggle. Then he would sit in front of the mirror and practice emotions, wondering what it felt like to smile and laugh.

"My little sunshine, you don't even need to ask." Yu Zhen was thoughtful, patting her head lovingly. She didn't respond. Instead, she moved closer and rested her head on his neck.

"Are we leaving?" he asked gently, ready to fulfill any of her wishes.

Li Xueyue nodded timidly and quietly. She stretched out her arms and hugged his neck, hugging him tightly. He didn't know whether she was completely awake.

Yu Zhen decided that he would show her his masterpiece next time. He hooked one arm around her legs and stood up easily, balancing their weight. He lifted her onto him effortlessly. She was held in his arms, safe and comfortable.

No one could take her away from him.

Yu Zhen would never allow it. Anyone who touched her would lose their hand. Those who hurt her would lose their life. He wouldn't have it any other way.

It’s not because she needs protection, but because she is Li Xueyue, the only woman he cares about.

At this point, he no longer cared what she had done to him. He didn't notice his broken heart. He pretended that she hadn't irreparably hurt him. He was a fool, but it didn't matter.

The important thing is Li Xueyue.

Hu Dengxiao paced back and forth outside the tent anxiously. "Tianbi, what should I do?!" He sniffed, "I'm too handsome to die young!"

Lu Tianbi opened her mouth, but then closed it again. "He's here."

"What? Are you saying that this is the day I die?" Hu Dengxiao wailed. "I don't want to see death so early! I'm only in my early twenties, and I still have so many reasons to live!"

Lu Tianbi ignored her chattering best friend. She straightened her back. "Commander."

Hu Dengxiao closed his eyes tightly and sobbed. Nothing happened here. He turned around and prepared to kneel down and beg for mercy.

"Zhenzhen, I didn't know she would run away--" He paused.

Hu Dengxiao's jaw dropped open in shock. Li Xueyue was safely picked up by Yu Zhen. The commander's face was cruel and sinister.

Han Jian commander Yu Zhen has never been a possessive person. He rarely shows kindness unless he has ulterior motives. The two have never seen him behave like this before. He hugged Li Xueyue as if the whole world revolved around her, nothing else.

Everyone was shocked by the commander's horrible behavior. Who would have thought that the god of death could have feelings?

Hu Dengxiao stepped back to let the commander pass.

Yu Zhen didn't even look at him. He passed his people without greeting them as usual. He strode away into the tent with the woman.

"Did you see that?" Hu Dengxiao whispered, fearing that his voice would draw the Grim Reaper out of the tent. "I've never seen our commander hug a woman, let alone one so cute."

"he's changed."

"For the best," Hu said. "It's a good thing. He's finally acting like a human being."

Lu Tianbi nodded slowly. "For a moment, I thought I saw someone else."

"Me too." Hu Dengxiao shuddered. "I didn't expect he had such a gentle side. I always thought his carefree attitude around Princess Li was fake."

"Now we know it's true." Lu Tianbi pursed her lips. "He won't risk his reputation in front of all the soldiers for anyone."

"The intention is very clear." Hu Dengxiao said. "Our second prince has officially found a princess."
