Li Xueyue cheered silently in her heart. If Heiyue did not have a master to return home, Ma Tong would remind everyone immediately. There would be a large-scale search operation.

The lieutenant sneered. "Let the horse go. He's blind. I doubt he can recognize the way back."

Li Xueyue felt her hopes dashed in an instant. Did Heiyue know the way home? She hoped he did. Her horse was smart, so it wouldn't get lost. But then again, it was the first time they had ridden so far.

She had a bad feeling about this.

"Sir, what should we do with the girl?"

"Blindfold her."

"Yes, sir."

With her eyes tightly covered by the cloth, Li Xueyue didn't even bother to protest.

"Kick her out."

Her eyes widened. Before she could react, she was hit hard on the head. The force was so strong that she felt her entire brain vibrate inside her skull.

It wasn't long before her body collapsed to the ground.

"What about the tiger?" said the soldier.

"He's gone, probably to his master." The lieutenant sighed and glanced in the direction the tiger disappeared. He couldn't believe his leader would let it run around like that without a chain.

No one knows how their leader tamed the tiger, but it may have something to do with his raising the tiger since it was still a cub.

"Please forgive us! We didn't know!" There were wailing sounds in the distance and loud crashes could be heard.

There was a sound of dragging clothes and the men fell to their knees.

Li Xueyue felt her world spinning. She lay on something soft and warm, but she didn't know what it was. Her head was no longer buzzing, but it hurt.

She closed her eyes and rubbed the spot that bothered her. Everything was fine until it wasn't. The memory of what had just happened flashed through her mind.

Immediately, she opened her eyes suddenly and heard the sound of a sword being unsheathed.

"How dare you touch her?!" A voice roared like a beast.

Li Xueyue had never heard of such a terrible thing. She looked around nervously and realized that there was no rope binding her together. She opened her eyes wide and looked at the scene in front of her.

"I should chop your hand off for this," he said in a low, dangerous voice.

Familiar back, familiar posture, familiar black robe.

She was dreaming. This had to be a dream.

What is he doing here? He's got a man by the throat. The lieutenant is being strangled to death.

Lu Tianbi leaned against a pillar supporting the tent, focusing her attention elsewhere. She couldn't bear to see the commander's anger.

Hu Dengxiao sighed, knowing that things would get tricky. When the Second Prince got angry, no one could stop him. Not even a group of men.

There was no point in trying to stop him. He would just kill those who got in his way. That was how the Second Prince was. That was what the soldiers had to accept.

Hu Dengxiao stood beside Lu Tianai. He patted her on the back, but she slapped his hand away.

"Yu Zhen...?" The words came out of Li Xueyue's mouth before she could cover her tongue.

Just two simple words caught the commander's attention. Just his name, but she was able to calm his anger. Perhaps, it wasn't the two words that were magical. It was her voice, terrified and hesitant, like a nervous rabbit.

What would have taken dozens of men a long time to calm him down took her only a second.

Commander Yu Zhen dropped the person he was holding. He turned around, his face full of murderous intent. But this did not scare her. He would never scare her. That was all she knew.

He would never hurt her. But she hurt him.

"What do you want?" he snapped.

Li Xueyue opened her mouth and closed it again. She had never seen him like this before. He had never treated her like this before. After what she had done to him, what else did she expect? For him to greet her with a smile and hug her like before?

Li Xueyue wished she could be stronger than this. She wished she wasn't weak. Her eyes were wet and her throat was tight. She missed him. Even if the red flag was flying ahead, she didn't care. For him, she was willing to pretend to be color blind. Red flag, green flag, they didn't matter. She didn't know what she had lost until she lost it. And the days without him were tortuous.

Yu Zhen looked into her wet eyes and his face became serious. "Everyone get out," he said angrily.

Lu Tianbi glanced at Li Xueyue nervously, wondering if she would be okay.

No one knew what happened on the training ground. No one knew that their great commander was rejected for the first time in his life.

But even if Lu Tianbi was a friend, she could only obey her superiors' arrangements. Pulling Hu Dengxiao's wrist, she left the large tent that was almost the size of a cabin.

The soldiers and the lieutenant also rushed out of the tent and moved far away from it.

"Speak." Yu Zhen stared at her expressionlessly. He was angry with himself and also with her.

Li Xueyue broke his heart, but he disciplined his men for her. He shouldn't have stolen the decree. He should have quietly left Hanjian. So why did he do this? Why did he waste resources and manpower for her? Was it to see her one last time? Was it to give her a reason to go to Hanjian with him? Was it to see her faint smile?

He had so many things he wanted to say and do, but he held back. For her, he swallowed his pride and dignity.

Yu Zhen still stood firm in his position, even as his broken heart longed for her. She was on the verge of tears. He could have predicted so much. Every part of him wanted to rush to her side and wipe her eyes dry. He wanted to reassure her that everything would be alright. He would destroy her demons if she just asked.

But the thing is, she never asked. He did it anyway. At his own expense.

"You're wasting my time," Yu Zhen growled. He turned his back to her and walked towards the tent door.

Li Xueyue panicked. The familiar sight of his disappearing figure frightened her. She never wanted to see it again. She never wanted him to leave.

Everything inside her told her to look away. To turn her back on him, to ignore him, to do nothing but run after him. Yet, she did the opposite. She got out of bed and ran towards him.

Li Xueyue didn't dare to touch him. The day she played with his heart, she lost this right. It was all her fault, seducing him, teasing him, expecting him to understand where everything came from.

So she grabbed his sleeve.

It was just the lightest touch, but it was an irreversible pull. Yu Zhen stopped for her instantly. He couldn't take another step forward. It was as if an invisible force was restraining him.

Yu Zhen cursed himself for stopping for her. Why would he do that? His heart had been broken once, and it had not healed yet. But like a moth drawn to a flame, destined to burn, he waited for her to speak.

Damn it, his heart skipped a beat. He hated himself. If he knew, she would hate herself even more.

He said one thing and did another, not listening to her pleas, and was heartbroken for the rest of his life.
