After breakfast, Li Xueyue felt that Li Wenmin was right. She had been neglecting her beloved horse. So she decided to take Heiyue for a long run in the endless fields behind the Li Mansion.

Li Xueyue had set out when the sun was high in the sky, and now it was setting. She rested for a while in the forest, and Heiyue was happily drinking water from the river.

"It's so beautiful." Li Xueyue couldn't help but sigh as she watched the smallest waterfall flow into the stream next to it. The clear water seemed cool and attractive, allowing her to jump off the Black Moon and reach out to touch it.

"You must be hungry," Li Xueyue muttered as she reached into the small bag at her waist. She pulled out an apple and a carrot. "That might be too much for you," she commented, but fed him the candy nonetheless, deciding that she needed to give him healthier food.

When Heiyue finished eating the apple, he bit the air for a moment, thinking there would be more. Li Xueyue chuckled and put her hand on his head, so that his mouth was facing the carrot. Heiyue finished eating quickly, and when he took the last bite, his head suddenly tilted back.

"what happened?"

Heiyue stamped her feet and turned her head to look behind her. Li Xueyue looked back, but found nothing.

"Black Moon, there's nothing." Li Xueyue said, but she still reached for the dagger tied to her leg. "What is it?"

Heiyue snorted and pushed her.

Just then, Li Xueyue heard a faint discussion in the distance. Who could it be? Perhaps those farmers who wandered too far? That was impossible. This forest was specifically forbidden to outsiders. It was heavily marked as the territory of the Li family.

"Let's go." Li Xueyue said as she jumped onto the Black Moon. "I think we have reached the border of our territory."

Heiyue tilted her head, she didn't know whether she agreed or not.

"There shouldn't be any activity in this forest." Li Xueyue said, "Heiyue, let's go home."

She spurred her horse forward and began to follow the path they had taken, until Black Moon neighed and lifted his front legs.

“Black Moon!” Li Xueyue gasped and held the reins tightly. She almost fell off her horse! “What’s wrong with you?” She took a breath in shock.

Black Moon let out a protest whine. He craned his head in the direction where he heard the distinctive whirring sound of something flying toward him.

Li Xueyue turned her head and was surprised to find that there was an arrow stuck in the tree. It was fresh and brand new, which meant it was just shot. She took off the dagger and wished she had brought a sword with her.

Then she heard it. The familiar sound of an arrow being shot. In the blink of an eye, she flicked her wrist and the arrow was cut off and fell beside them.

"Who's there?" Li Xueyue said in a loud and stern voice. "Come out quickly!"

When they came out, she immediately regretted it.

To her surprise, the people who appeared were fully armed soldiers with complete equipment. Moreover, the clothes they wore were somewhat familiar, but they obviously did not belong to the Wuyi Army.

Their swords were raised, and not far away she could see their bows and arrows shooting at her and Black Moon.

"Which country do you work for?" Li Xueyue asked. "This land is the property of Prime Minister Wuyi. You have no right to trespass."

"Silence!" the leading man roared. He flicked two fingers in her direction, and suddenly the soldiers surrounded her.

"We're here to ask questions," the man said angrily. "How did you find us?"

"What are you talking about?" Li Xueyue hissed, "This is my father's land. I didn't find you, you found me."

"Since you've seen us, we can't let you go." The man nodded to his men, and the soldiers immediately stepped forward.

Li Xueyue's face darkened. "Touch me or my horse, and I promise you'll lose that hand."

"Why did you say that?"

"I am the daughter of the Prime Minister of Wuyi. You can't escape."

The person in charge paused. The Prime Minister's daughter? Why did he feel that this title sounded familiar?

“Who do you work for?” Li Xueyue asked. She would never give in to these men. It would be foolish to pretend to be timid and weak.

"It's none of your business."

Li Xueyue narrowed her eyes. None of these men wore the insignia of their country. “What are you doing on my father’s land?”

"You have enough problems already. Whether you are the Prime Minister's daughter or not, you must come with us." The man nodded to his soldiers.

"Stay away from me - Black Moon!" Li Xueyue gasped when a soldier threw a rope onto Li Xueyue's horse.

Black Moon protested immediately, turning his head the other way before the noose grazed his neck.

"Wait, what is that?" Li Xueyue suddenly said, her face frozen in fear. She pointed at something behind the person in charge.

"As if this would work for me—"

An animal roared loudly.

"Lieutenant!" the soldiers warned.

The man turned around in confusion, and sure enough, he was facing a proud and mighty tiger.

"Let's go, Black Moon!"

Hei Yue didn't need to say it a second time. He raised his front legs, scaring the soldier in front of him so much that he took a step back unconsciously.

"Stop! Do you want to die?!" the man asked. "If you run now, the tiger will chase you."

Li Xueyue reluctantly admitted that the lieutenant was right, because the tiger's attention was now focused on her.

"This tiger is on our side anyway," the man said, nodding to his soldiers. "Catch her first, this one likes to run."

"You-!" Before she could finish her words, the noose was placed around her neck without warning.

Li Xueyue gasped, but she didn't react fast enough. Like an animal caught by the neck, she was pulled off her horse. She fell heavily to the ground, her whole body in pain.

She struggled against the rope tightening around her throat.

Li Xueyue couldn't breathe. Black spots obscured her vision, and the more she struggled, the more dizzy she felt.

"It's futile to fight it. This is the particular knot that our country knows. The more you struggle, the tighter it gets."

It was not until her wrists and legs were tied that the rope around her neck finally loosened. She gasped and her vision returned to normal.

"Be a doll and shut up," the lieutenant said, and before she could answer, he stuffed a ball of cloth into her mouth.

Her eyes were wide open.

How did this happen? Did she learn nothing from all these years of training?

"You're beautiful up close, aren't you?" the lieutenant commented. He gently stroked her face. "Don't worry, in our country we don't violate women unless you're a war conqueror."

Li Xueyue glared at him, wishing he would die on the spot.

"You're a lovely sight," the lieutenant smiled. "But you're so annoying. You see, we're decent people, but if you continue to annoy us, we won't hesitate to slit your throat--" He paused.

"Sir!" his soldiers shouted, but it was too late.

Black Moon rushed forward with the rope. He didn't care about the noose tightening around his neck, nor did he care about the man dragging behind him.

"You fool!" the lieutenant roared as his men let go of the rope.

Black Moon has already run away.
