Li Xueyue swallowed. Who let him into her room first? If her guards couldn't keep guests out, what were they doing? But then she thought about Wen Jinkai's terrifying aura and the powerful guards.

The soldiers of the Li family could never bear the pressure from their commander.

"What an impudent, bold, irritable fellow he is." She cursed him at the stars, and then again. She laid the pendant on the table and tore open his letter, not caring how ugly it had become.

"I won't start with a title or a greeting because that would be a waste of your time. First, I apologize for the way I treated you. I've realized my mistake and if you give me a chance, I promise I will correct it. I promise I will. I'm a man of my words. Just so you know I mean no harm, I'm returning your pendant to you.

It's not something I can take away, but I have no other way to get your attention. It's the only thing that binds me to you. I don't want to give it up, but my moral conscience tells me it's the best option.

I hope you can forgive me for what I have done to you. If I have offended you in any way, I did not mean it. I rarely apologize, fawn. I am too honorable a person, so please consider the meaning of my words.

Li Xueyue wanted to tear the letter into pieces. He apologized but asked her to accept it. It wasn’t like that. But she couldn’t ignore the weight of his apology. It must have been a big deal for him to put down his huge ego and bow his head to write this.

Li Xueyue held the pendant tightly in her palm and looked down at it. She put it back on the table, thinking that it needed a proper cleaning.

"Poor thing, you must have suffered." Li Xueyue murmured as she stroked the pendant. It had endured enough. This time, she would protect it for the rest of her life. She would never allow it to be stolen. Never again.

Li Xueyue didn't know whether Wen Jinkai heard the last words she said before she fainted.

Li Xueyue wondered about the impact of the word "Yuzhen" before she fainted.

This must have irritated him. But what could he do?

"Li Xueyue, you are the biggest fool of the century." She gritted her teeth. "Why are you still thinking about him? Why can't you erase him from your mind?" She sighed.

"Li Xueyue, I hate you, I really hate you." She crossed her arms and muttered, hoping that such self-blame would wake her up from her stupidity.

Morning finally approached. Li Xueyue did not continue to sleep until morning, but spent time by the window. She was reading a book, and half of her attention was on the outside of the window.

She admired the rosy color of the sky as the sun rose high in the sky, radiating its light. She reached out and caught the warmth of the sun. It was comforting, but also painful, as memories immediately came flooding back.

Li Xueyue withdrew her hand and sighed. Every little thing reminded her of Yu Zhen, but what could she do? She was the fool who pushed him away.

"He's never coming back, is he?" Li Xueyue asked aloud, suppressing a melancholy sigh.

"I guess it's my turn to break into the twins' room," she said.

Jumping down from the windowsill, Li Xueyue thought about putting on her clothes quickly. When she lived in Bai Mansion, no one paid attention to her. The clothes in Bai Mansion were always simple and plain, just a layer of cheap cloth.

Her clothing at the Lee residence, however, was richly layered and colorful. It required expertise to perfectly match each layer so that it complemented the next. Eventually, she found herself blindly putting on the clothes in anger—she didn’t care if they didn’t match.

Li Xueyue walked slowly along the corridor, knowing that she was still early. She found the silence in the corridor strangely soothing. There was no sound except for her light footsteps and the hollow sound of the wind.

Since Yu Zhen left, the wind has been blowing hard. She didn't notice or anything...

As she passed, Li Xueyue could feel the gazes of the guards, who never left her. It was strange. Did they always stare at her longer than necessary?

She looked around. "Maybe it's because I'm the only one here," she muttered.

"Are they awake?" Li Xueyue asked as she stopped in front of the door of the first victim - her dear old Brother Wen.

The guards looked at her, then suddenly looked at her again. "Yes, Miss." They said in unison.

Li Xueyue was puzzled by their expressions. Why were they so surprised to see her? She didn't look like a ghost.

Li Xueyue ignored them. Maybe they were just surprised to see her in this part of the house. She rarely ventured over to the twins’ side anyway, and the twins rarely had visitors. She shrugged their reactions and pushed open the door to go into her brother’s room.

As expected, she heard the loud snoring of "Piggy". She chuckled. This nickname was very suitable for Wenmin.

Li Xueyue tiptoed into the room until she was close to his bed.

"One...more..." he moaned in his sleep.

Ah? What's the next one? Training set?

Li Xueyue bent down, trying to hear clearly.

"steamed stuffed bun…"

"Poof!" Li Xueyue covered her mouth, trying to hold back the laughter that was about to burst out. Another steamed bun? Of course this glutton would dream about food in his sleep!

"No more bread for you," she cried.

His eyebrows knitted together. "Baozi... No, why are you running away from me?!" His hand shot up, fingers reaching for the food in his dream.

Li Xueyue couldn't hold back her laughter any longer. She chuckled, but the slightest sound startled Li Wenmin.

"What is this--!" He cried out, pulling the blanket up to his collarbone like a girl in a thin nightgown.

"Xiaoyue, what are you doing here?" he asked, placing a terrified hand on his chest. "Oh my god, this must be a nightmare," he added, sliding back under the blankets.

"Hey, that's rude!" she shouted, grabbing the edge of his blanket.

"Go away you evil spirit!" he groaned, kicking at the part she was trying to pull at. "Once I get a few more hours of sleep, you can haunt me."

"But I'm not a ghost!" Li Xueyue snorted. She pulled hard and pulled the blanket off him.

Li Wenmin screamed. He rolled his whole body into a ball and groaned. "Please wait a few more minutes."

"It's already morning, wake up you sleepy little pig!" Li Xueyue hissed and threw the blanket to the other side of the big bed.

"I'm not a pig!" Li Wenmin burst into tears. Finally, he opened his eyes and rubbed away the tiredness in his eyes. He found it difficult to open his eyes so early in the morning.

"The way you snore." Li Xueyue was angry.

"Don't let me be one of them!"

"And you dream about food..."

"So it was you who stole my buns." Li Wenmin said angrily. "I should have known it earlier!"

Li Xueyue rolled her eyes. "It's not like you can actually eat bread. Come on now!"

"Uh, where are we going?" Li Wenmin groaned and turned over.

Li Xueyue saw his muscular body. She wondered how he could eat so much and not get fat. "We need to go scare Chenyang."

Li Wenmin rushed upwards. "Oh, that sounds interesting! Let's go, let's go!" he said excitedly.

Li Wenmin's eyes lit up. He couldn't wait to get the payback for all the teasing and bullying from his brother.
