Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 198 Collecting Information
Li Wenmin looked at her. It was not difficult to see that she regretted everything she had done.
Li Xueyue wishes she wasn't so stubborn and stupid. What does she want in her life? Her plans revolve around the Bai family and their downfall. Along the way, she forgets her goals and wishes and just wants to live a simple and happy life with her family. She has already got what she wanted. What to do?
What on earth was she going to do with the Bai business after she got it? Yes, it would be great if she could make a profit from it, and even keep the business going for generations, thus ensuring that her family would continue to be wealthy and comfortable for years to come.
"Xiaoyue, it's not too late now." Li Wenmin finally said.
"What do you mean?"
Li Wenmin swallowed. "We can still find Yu Zhen. If necessary, I will drag him to your room. If you admit that you regret it now, it's not too late for you to want him back."
Li Xueyue shook her head. “No, I wouldn’t do that to him. He’s moving on. I’m the one who broke his heart. How can I ask for it back? That would be too horrible for me.”
Li Xueyue closed the book and put it beside her. It had been open for the past hour, but she had not read a single line.
"I'm too selfish, Wen Ge," she admitted. "Before Yu Zhen, there was Wen Jinkai. I didn't like Wen Jinkai's desire for a harem. I found him controlling and too unstable. When he couldn't tell me clearly how he felt and what he intended for me, I got impatient and decided to end it all between us."
"Xiaoyue——"
"Then there was Yu Zhen, whose intentions were clear and who was full of love and adoration for me - that's what I wanted. Compared to Wen Jinkai, Yu Zhen gave me everything I wanted in a relationship, but I rejected him. You know? Isn't this situation ironic?"
Li Wenmin realized that she was blaming herself. In a way, it was understandable. She was the one who did this to herself. Still, he couldn't help but feel guilty. All along, the whole family emphasized that her voice was important. They gave what they thought was the best advice for her, but it turned out not to be the case.
"So what should we do now?" Li Wenmin asked, "You can't wither in this room."
"I know…"
"You've also neglected your training. It's time to stop hanging around here." Li Wenmin said, holding her hand. "Let's do something to distract you from these things. For example, why don't we practice archery? You're great."
Li Xueyue was heartbroken. This room was very comfortable for her. It isolated her from the outside world.
"Come on," Li Wenmin pestered. "The air outside will be good for you. Maybe we can even go hunting in the forest. I'm sure Black Moon will like it."
Li Xueyue finally gave in, smiled slightly, and said, "Okay, let's go."
Li Wenmin's eyes lit up when he heard her words. "Great! Hurry up and get dressed. I'll wait for you in the stable."
Li Xueyue nodded.
Li Wenmin left the room and turned to the maids outside. "Put on her training clothes."
The maids bowed. "Yes, Master."
"It's so fast." Li Wenmin said as he walked to the stable.
"Hmm," she snorted.
Hearing the sharp voice of his master, Black Moon immediately neighed impatiently. He raised his front legs and began to step hard on the door. He paced back and forth in the stable impatiently, eagerly waiting for her.
His ears twitched at the sound of something breaking. A soft hand stroked his mane, familiar and gentle. He responded immediately, leaning into the touch.
"What a treasure." Li Xueyue whispered, and patted her horse for the last time. She took out a sugar cube from her pocket and threw it into his mouth.
Black Moon caught it in one swoop, happily chewing up the delicacy. He nudged her for more, and she gave him a piece of carrot.
"You're too fond of your horse," Li Wenmin snorted. He walked toward his stallion, a thoroughbred that was built for speed.
said the man who was feeding the horse with apples. Li Xueyue chuckled and stepped back while the stable boy secured everything. When everything was done, she climbed onto the saddle effortlessly, holding the reins in her hands.
“It’s a healthy treat.”
"That's it."
Li Wenmin stuck out his tongue at her. He jumped on his horse and they began to ride out of the stable.
Servants approached them with archery equipment.
Seeing that this was her favorite bow and arrow, Li Xueyue nodded with satisfaction. She stretched the string to test its tension. Since the bow was well kept, there was nothing to complain about.
"Are we going hunting today? Or just practicing archery?"
"We could go for a walk in the woods."
"That seems like a plan to me," Li Xueyue agreed.
"No fair, that was my shot!" Li Wenmin complained after 15 minutes of running in the forest. He glared at his sister who had secretly taken the photo.
Li Xueyue rolled her eyes. "Then you should shoot faster." She said as she dismounted.
Li Xueyue approached the direction she shot the arrow from. Heiyue turned around in confusion, not knowing where to go.
"Heiyue, wait a moment." Li Xueyue replied, although she was not sure if he understood.
Sometimes she found it amusing that Black Moon only responded to her. She knew that his loss of sight had forced him to rely on his other senses, but his hearing was simply incredible. The smallest snap of a branch in the distance was enough to alert him.
"Xiaoyue, your horse is stupid." Li Wenmin saw the horse chasing after him, but it crashed into a tree and screamed.
“Heiyue is not stupid.” Li Xueyue frowned and looked for the animal she had shot. How strange. She was sure that things would develop in this direction.
"He can't see, so it's hard for him to know the direction without me." She glanced back and whistled softly.
In an instant, Black Moon's body shook and he rushed towards her effortlessly.
"You see, he responds very well to me." Li Xueyue pondered, "He is really smart and understands my orders."
Li Wenmin sighed. He still envied the horse's physique and strength. In two and a half years, Black Moon had changed dramatically. Originally he was a dishevelled, skinny, abused horse, but look at him now. He had effortlessly become one of the fastest horses in the country.
Li Wenmin had never seen such a deadly combination of stealth and power. To be honest, he was jealous. What Black Moon lacked in vision, he made up for in intelligence and hearing.
"That's weird, Brother Wen. I can't find my prey." Li Xueyue crossed her arms. "I'm pretty sure I shot in this direction. It was less than five minutes since I shot. There's no way a predator could have stolen the prey from me without any of us seeing it."
Before Li Wenmin could turn his horse around, he heard her scream. His heart was beating violently in his chest.
"What's wrong?! Xiaoyue?!" he shouted loudly and found that she suddenly disappeared.
Li Wenmin stepped on the horse's back, urging her forward. "Xiao Yue?!"
Li Wenmin urged the horse towards the direction where she got lost, her heart beating so fast that she couldn't blink.
"Wen, Brother Wen..." Li Xueyue covered her mouth in horror and screamed.
Li Wenmin was so shocked that his jaw dropped open. The Yaya standing in front of them was a bloodthirsty tiger.
