"Are you sure you want to teach me?" Li Xueyue asked, hoping that he would understand her hint. She wanted him to understand that Li Wenmin was probably planning something. If Yu Zhen taught her, Wenmin would definitely pester her to show her.

But she also couldn't throw Li Wenmin under the wagon and reveal his plan, because it was just speculation.

Sensing her hint, he didn't react. Instead, he touched her braids, running his fingers through her hair near her chest. He lifted her hair and played with the ends before his hands brushed across her chest.

“This is going to be fun,” he said, his eyes sparkling.

Li Xueyue isn’t sure if what he calls “fun” is what she means. “I’m a slow learner,” she admits. “It takes me a long time to understand a technique, but I’ll eventually learn it.”

"It's okay, I'm patient." He stood up, let her hair down, and offered her a hand. "Shall we begin?"

Li Xueyue nodded. When he immediately squeezed her fingers, she held his hand and stood up, smiling to herself.

He gently shook his interlocked hands, and his thumb stroked her skin from time to time.

Yu Zhen didn't know why, but holding the woman's hand gave him a strange sense of comfort. He used to think such little things were silly and meaningless displays of affection. Now that he had found someone to share these moments with, he realized that maybe things weren't so bad after all.

He nodded to himself when he noticed her occasionally glancing at their intertwined hands. It really wasn't a bad idea. He took her hand and raised it to his lips. He looked into her eyes and then kissed her knuckles, causing her to laugh.

Seeing her smile, he smiled too. Maybe she was right, he was too tacky.

Yu Zhen couldn't help himself around her. Everything he refused to do and hated, he found himself doing with her. When he was with Xue Yue, it was as if nothing else in the world mattered. No request was too little or too small, as long as it made her happy, it was his command.

“Aren’t you going to change?” Li Xueyue asked as they reached the back of the manor, heading towards the training ground she and the twins often used.

"No, are you?" Yu Zhen asked, nodding at her smooth hanfu.

Today, she was wearing a cool-toned outfit that matched her skin tone. He found that any color suited her, no matter how terrible it might be. Maybe he was a fool in love, but she was perfect in every way, even if she didn't think so.

"Well, I usually wear training clothes." Li Xueyue replied, pointing to the heavy tent.

Often, when she didn't feel like running back to her room to change, her maid would change her clothes in the tent, which was filled with clothes that needed to be washed and ironed, whether they were worn or not.

"Go change your clothes, Sunshine. You'll hurt yourself if you don't have the right clothes," he said, referring specifically to her pointy-toed shoes.

Li Xueyue nodded, loosened her hand, and took a step forward, but was pulled back. She turned her head, confused by his actions, and her eyes widened when he quickly leaned in and pecked her on the lips. Everything happened so quickly that she didn't even notice his kiss until it disappeared.

She touched her lips subconsciously and looked up at him in surprise. He just blinked and gently pushed her in the direction of the tent.

"go."

She didn't need to be told twice. She muttered to herself, hoping this was more than just a simple kiss, and she began to walk in the direction of the tent. The maids hurried after her, their steps quick and concise, not wasting a second.

They had dressed her so often that it was basically muscle memory at this point. Her braided hair was parted and gathered into a secure bun, secured in place with a ribbon and tied into a perfect bow. Bobby pins held everything securely in place so that no matter how fast her head turned, her hair would not fall out.

Her maids had dressed her efficiently in a form-fitting garment that allowed her to move freely, and her knee-high boots were held in place by tightly tied leather cords.

In less than ten minutes, she strolled out of the tent, feeling much more comfortable than before. She walked with pride, as if everything was under her feet. When she swung the sword in her hand, the calm light in her eyes was instantly replaced by a deadly sharpness.

Yu Zhen was nowhere to be seen. This was the first thing she noticed as she strode into the center of the vast field.

Where could he be?

Li Xueyue turned her feet curiously and looked around. Maybe he went to change his clothes?

Yu Zhen had just stepped half a foot into the training ground when he suddenly had the urge to curse the sky again. Standing there, the clothes tightly wrapped every part of her beautiful body, leaving almost no room for imagination.

Yu Zhen gritted his teeth, frustrated with himself and the maids who let her go out dressed like this. She was a sight that many people couldn't look away from. All she had to do was let her guard down for a moment and he could barge in and have a taste.

She slung the sword behind her back, her body swaying, a sight so mesmerizing and fluid that he wanted to pounce on her at the first opportunity.

Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to stay calm.

At the sound of his approaching footsteps, she turned sharply, her bright smile paralyzing his heart.

Well, the peace is gone – outside the window.

“Where are you going?” Li Xueyue blinked, puzzled by his clenched jaw and clenched fist. Why did he look so irritated?

“My guards followed me without my consent.” Yu Zhen snorted. No matter how they concealed it, he noticed their presence.

"Oh," she said, believing that this was why he was upset.

"Don't worry, you don't even know they are here." Yu Zhen frowned, his eyes resting on her clothes.

"Get lost, you damned villain," he thought to himself, taking one last look at her. He turned his attention elsewhere, focusing on the sword in her hand. It was thick and long, and he swallowed it deeply.

"Tell me what you know," he ordered, scanning the training grounds for practice mannequins.

"I don't practice with mannequins. There's always someone with me, whether it's an instructor, a guard or a civilian."

Li Xueyue wondered if she was going too far. She rarely won against Li Wenmin, who was about the same height as Yu Zhen, but her brother was not as big as Yu Zhen.

Yu Zhen was taller than she was. He was full of strength and muscle. His solid shoulders, broad chest, and angular figure were perfect. When his attention returned to her, she immediately looked away.

He was looking at her intently.

"Let's do it," he gritted his teeth for reasons she wasn't sure of. He didn't like fighting someone half his size. She was a young lady, and he'd be damned if he hurt her. As he was thinking about it, she slashed at his upper arm.

Yu Zhen chuckled. The punch did indeed tear his clothes, but it only bit his skin.

"Rookie mistake." He frowned and took aim at her with his sword while she let her guard down.

This is a trap.

When he thrust his sword, she dodged him, twisted it and thrust it at his throat. He was deceiving her, too.

They are all conspirators.

Just as her sword reached his throat, he turned and collided violently with her sword. She was caught off guard, eyes wide open. She lacked strength, but was fast, and easily jumped back, dodging his sword swing. He wasted no time. She rushed straight at her, dodging and aiming for the knee, but his sword blocked her at the critical moment.

He was very tolerant of her.

Li Xueyue gritted her teeth, swung her sword upwards, and shook his power away from her.

He did not fall into her trap. Instead, he pressed his sword against hers, pinning it to the ground, pinning it. She pressed hard against his sword, struggling against his weight, her wrist burning with pain.

"Tsk, that move was predictable," he chided her.

Who says swordplay is just about swinging a weapon?

She dropped her weapon and thrust out a leg, tripping him gently. She reached down and grabbed her sword seconds before he fell, then swung it and aimed it at his throat.

But he was ruthless.

He pressed his sword against hers, pinning her sword in place. Another clash, and he forced her to block the blow. Her knees were forced to buckle under his immense force, her muscles screaming. Sweat covered her forehead, and she was soaked from head to toe, but her body was still perfect. This was just a warm-up for him.

"Watch your position," he said, noticing her shaking arms.

She couldn't defeat his strength, but that didn't stop her from trying the techniques she learned from the book.

Li Xueyue let go of the sword in her hand and tried to use her own weight to fight him. She moved her upper body quickly, trying to avoid his sword, but it was no use. In an instant, he was overwhelmed by her. His movements were faster than she could blink. He held her wrist tightly and pressed her sword against her neck, while pressing his sword against her sword, pinning her to the ground.

For Xueyue, this was an inevitable failure.

As soon as she drank it, her throat would be slit.
