After breakfast, Li Chenyang followed his father into the private study to discuss the morning's palace affairs. Only Duchess Wang Qixing, Li Wenmin, Li Xueyue, and Yu Zhen were left in the dining room.

After dinner, Yu Zhen moved his seat next to Li Xueyue, and Li Xueyue didn't mind being close to him.

Li Wenmin looked at Yu Zhen with a sour face as she pinched Xueyue's chin and wiped her mouth with a valuable handkerchief. He wondered if his Xiaoyue realized that such a handkerchief was only used to show off her status, not to wipe her mouth.

Seeing Yu Zhen's actions, Li Xueyue smiled gratefully. When Yu Zhen leaned close to her ear and whispered something, her eyes lit up.

Tsk, this could be some stupid promise or something. Xiaoyue, don't believe his nonsense! Li Wenmin screamed in his heart, wishing he could say it out loud. If only his mother wasn't in the same room.

Speaking of the Duchess, she looked at the couple with wide eyes like an excited matchmaker.

“Mom, you should keep them at least six feet apart!” What about our Xueyue’s reputation? ! Li Wenmin muttered in his heart, Duchess Wang Qixing clasped his hands together, and he rolled his eyes; Yuzhen playfully patted Xueyue’s nose, and he nodded in agreement.

'Great, great! She's already planning the wedding. Let me guess, she's also thinking about what color would look best on her first grandchild. Tsk! Li Wenmin thought bitterly, hating his mother for being so easygoing.

"Xueyue," Li Wenmin finally spoke, "You haven't practiced swordsmanship and martial arts recently. Today I decided to train you personally."

"Oh, but Wenmin, don't you have an important tactical meeting today?" Duchess Wang Qixing said, confused by his change of plan. Is there something else she doesn't know?

"Uh..." Li Wenmin scratched the back of his head. "It won't start until later."

"Well, you won't have time to train Xueyue and rush to the meeting. You don't even have time to take a shower, and you can't attend the meeting if you are sweating all over." Mrs. Wang Qixing said firmly. He is a general now. She can't tolerate him being late for his work, just because he doesn't want to leave his sister to a man.

"But, Mom," Li Wenmin said angrily, "Xueyue hasn't trained for a while! If we don't take care of her, her skills will get rusty and everything will be in vain."

"I can train her," Yu Zhen replied.

Li Wenmin glared at him fiercely. He didn't expect his plan to backfire! Originally, he was going to use training as an excuse to kick Yu Zhen out of the house. He shouldn't let the damn commander stay to accompany Xueyue more.

“Commander, I won’t embarrass you.” Duchess Wang Qixing finally realized that some things were unforgivable. What if someone walked in while the couple was practicing intimate postures? She had no doubt that this cunning commander must have a conspiracy.

"As for Xueyue, I will send the maid to inform her teacher that the class will start later than usual. My son is right." She nodded, "Our Xueyue hasn't had any classes recently because she's too busy."

"Are you busy staying in bed?" Yu Zhen asked.

Li Xueyue kicked him under the table, knowing that he had only pointed it out because he was being petty. He grabbed her thighs, and when she suddenly jumped up, his mouth curled up into a sly smile. Her eyes snapped to him, but his attention was focused on the Duchess.

Li Xueyue looked around nervously, thankful that no one had seen them. Her eyes flicked to his fingers, spread out on her thigh. She stared at the thin veins bulging on his hand, thinking how much easier it would be to swing the sword if her fingers were as long as his.

"Yeah, busy staying in bed." Duchess Wang Qixing crossed her arms and frowned. What on earth did he want to do by irritating her like this?

"In that case, Xueyue should move her body around," he said.

"That's why her usual tutor is here."

"With the master here, there is no need to ask for an instructor." Yu Zhen said shamelessly.

"Absolutely not." Duchess Wang Qixing shook her head. "You are not allowed to teach Xueyue anything. You will destroy her form."

Li Wenmin didn't want to admit it, but this time, his mother was wrong. If there was someone more qualified to teach than Li Xueyue, it was Yu Zhen of the Hanjian family.

Li Wenmin has not forgotten Yu Zhen’s nickname of “Death of War” on the battlefield. With a swing of the sword, the head flew out effortlessly. His precision is perfect, and nothing can be more perfect than his movements. If he teaches it to Xueyue, her swordsmanship will definitely be excellent.

"Miss," Yu Zhen groaned, "I swear on my honor that Xue Yue's body movements will definitely improve under my guidance."

"No." Duchess Wang Qixing shook her head. "She is already used to the instructor's methods and doesn't need such external influence."

"If she gets used to their techniques, it means they have taught her everything they can," Yu Zhen pointed out.

"Well, she can practice with the instructor."

"I can teach her all the different moves of the Han sword. The more she knows, the better."

Li Wenmin's ears perked up, and his attention immediately shifted to Yu Zhen. Did he hear clearly? Marshal Han Jian was willing to share their military tactics?

Each country is always tight-lipped about how to train soldiers, and many technologies are forbidden to be passed on. If a soldier reveals the secret, he will be sentenced to death immediately, and seven generations of his family will be slaughtered.

No one dared to reveal this secret unless they were the instructor himself. Even then, the instructor would not share it.

Li Wenmin was very happy to see Yu Zhen so willing to sacrifice his secrets. Perhaps he could steal these secrets from Xueyue, evaluate them, and then inform his soldiers. It would be great if he could catch the Cold Sword soldiers off guard when they used their own methods against them.

perfect.

Li Wenmin forced a smile on his face.

"Mom, why don't we let Xueyue learn from Yuzhen? I hate to say this, but he's right. The more she knows, the better. Xiaoyue, don't you think so?" he asked, urging his sister to answer.

Li Xueyue narrowed her eyes suspiciously. Her overprotective brother Wen softened so easily? He must be planning something. And judging from his bright smile, he definitely had bad intentions.

"She doesn't need to know more than she already knows." Duchess Wang Qixing sighed. "Our Xueyue won't go to war. She already has enough tricks."

"But mom, knowledge is power."

“You are so persistent. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought you were Yu Zhen’s wingman.” Duchess Wang Qixing frowned and asked tentatively, “What exactly do you want to do?”

Li Wenmin suddenly put his hand to his chest, looking stunned. He pretended to be offended. "I just want my sister to know as many self-defense techniques as possible."

He wiped away imaginary tears and sniffed. "My poor Xiaoyue, she is so thin and small, I am worried about her health!"

Duchess Wang Qixing rolled her eyes and sneered. "You can't fool anyone, my idiot son."

"Oh, Xiaoyue, you poor thing! Why were you born with a weak body and a pretty face? Just imagine, those men will take advantage of you! Alas..." Li Wenmin grabbed his sister and sobbed loudly.

"It's okay, Xiaoyue, you have your brother by your side! I will make sure you learn everything! It's only natural for such a weak woman to use as many skills as possible to protect herself."

His saliva splashed on Li Xueyue's cheek, and Li Xueyue was startled. She wiped it off angrily.

He uttered a little "Oopsie~" and then returned to the best performance of his life. "My dear sister, it is so pitiful that you are deprived of the opportunity to learn! Don't worry, our mother can be cruel in this regard, not allowing a princess the right to protect herself - humph!"

Duchess Wang Qixing stuffed a bun into his mouth and forced him to shut up, for the love of all that is holy!

"Alright, alright, you crybaby son," she snapped, "Xue Yue will train under Yu Zhen, but only for today."

Li Wenmin devoured the buns at an astonishing speed. "But one day's study is not enough!"

"Don't talk back to me." Duchess Wang Qixing grabbed his ear and hissed.

Li Wenmin howled in pain, his eyes trembling and his lips pouting. "Mom, Mom, please!"

"As a reward for your performance, I will give you a one-hour lecture." Duchess Wang Qixing gritted her teeth angrily and pulled his ear up.

"Ouch! Ouch! Now I can't hear it from my end!" He yelled, hopping up and down on his feet in the hope of alleviating the pain, but she twisted it away.

"This is what you get for speaking out against your mother," she huffed, dragging him toward the door. She paused and turned sharply.

"What about you!" She pointed at Yu Zhen and he straightened up. "You'd better stop bullying my daughter. I was a girl once and I know exactly what you did to her."

Yu Zhen raised his eyebrows. The tone of her words was so firm that he felt like a son being scolded by his mother.

"Don't touch Xueyue, or I will personally make you receive the punishment you deserve. Second Prince or not, I will still scold you." She hissed. "Do you understand?"

Yu Zhen didn't know whether the formal greeting would please her. He simply nodded.

"And Xueyue." Duchess Wang Qixing paused and turned to her daughter. Her eyes and voice softened, "Dear, remember what I said, okay?"

Li Xueyue nodded quickly.

“How could she get better treatment?!” Li Wenmin complained, “Mom, this is so unfair and so biased!”

“Because she’s not as naughty as you, my son who loves to lose his temper.” Duchess Wang Qixing snorted. Finally, she dragged her son out of the restaurant.

And then there were two.

In the end, only Li Xueyue and Yu Zhen were left, and no one disturbed them.
