Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble

When Yu Zhen walked into the restaurant accompanied by Li Xueyue and Li Chenyang, the restaurant was silent. Li Wenmin's forehead was bulging with veins, the Duchess was stunned and speechless, and the Duke continued to drink tea, as if waiting for a good show to unfold.

"Well, this is really a...surprise." Duchess Wang Qixing paused here, looking for the right words to describe this unexpected encounter.

Yesterday afternoon, a few hours after his family returned home, Yu Zhen wrote a letter requesting to meet Xueyue. Duchess Wang Qixing had already received the meeting, but she didn't expect him to come as soon as the sun came out.

He followed her rules, which she appreciated. However, there was one thing that Duchess Wang Qixing saw that she certainly didn't like: her daughter's bright red lips were not the result of coloring them with lip paper. As someone who had experienced rough kisses, she knew exactly what was going on - and the densely packed men in the room, with the exception of Yu Zhen himself, didn't notice this strange detail.

"I don't mean to disturb you." Yu Zhen said calmly.

Duchess Wang Qixing frowned. "You didn't mean to break in. You came at dawn?"

“Yeah, I’m a morning person.”

"You can wait until the afternoon." Li Wenmin put down his chopsticks and said through gritted teeth. He was about to steal the eggs when suddenly his attention shifted to Yu Zhen. "No one asked you to come so early."

Yu Zhen's chin twitched, and his eyes narrowed in annoyance. He reminded himself to be patient with the Li family, they were the ones who raised Xueyue. But he could only tolerate so much rudeness. In Han, no one dared to disrespect the commander-in-chief, let alone the second prince who was known for his bad temper.

Li Xueyue nervously squeezed their intertwined hands, hoping to bring him comfort, but he seemed unaware of this small action.

"Let's start breakfast." Li Xueyue said, holding Yu Zhen's hand. He didn't move a step, but scanned the surrounding environment. There were only five chairs in total. He would have nowhere to sit.

Seeing the tense atmosphere in the restaurant, King Li Chenyang smiled. His family must have loved drama, didn’t they? He waved to the servant, who bowed in response.

"My Lord?"

"Bring a chair for the guest."

"Yes, sir," the servant replied. He left the room and within a minute he returned with a chair, and another servant came in with a bowl and a pair of chopsticks.

“Sit down.” King Li Chenyang patted the seat beside him and spoke out. Yu Zhen was unfortunate that he would be sandwiched between his parents and have zero contact with his little hamster.

Yu Zhen forced a wry smile. "I'm very grateful, Prime Minister."

Li Wenmin rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair. Li Chenyang said nothing. He tried to reach out and grab Xueyue’s wrist, hoping to pull her to her seat, but to no avail. Their hands were intertwined, visible to all, but no one realized how tight his grip was. He refused to let her go unless she volunteered.

Li Xueyue pretended not to notice his lack of patience today. She pulled him in the direction of a seat, but he led her to a random chair, then pulled it out and helped her sit down.

Everyone looked at him in amazement as he helped push the chair back, and nodded in satisfaction when they saw that she looked comfortable, until he finally took his seat, nodding his greeting to the Duke and Duchess.

King Li Chenyang smiled with satisfaction, with a playful gleam in his eyes.

Li Chenyang held back a sigh in his heart. How could he eat with such a tense atmosphere in the room? He chose not to express his concerns and sat in his usual chair.

"I'm surprised," Duchess Wang Chi-sing said thoughtfully, "that my piglets didn't fight today."

"Piglet?" Yu Zhen repeated with a frown.

Duchess Wang Qixing smiled slightly, with a doting smile on her lips. "You will see."

Li Wenmin felt his irritation dissipate slightly due to embarrassment. He did not like to receive guests at meals. Although he was proud of his appetite, he did not like to show off to the military brass.

With Yu Zhen around, how could Li Wenmin go out to eat today? His attention shifted to Xue Yue, and to his surprise, she ate without any hesitation like usual. Her chopsticks always moved faster than the blink of an eye, just like usual. And from Yu Zhen's doting smile, Li Wenmin knew that the former had seen her appetite. Apparently, Yu Zhen didn't care about it. In fact, the Cold Sword Commander seemed happy that she didn't feel uncomfortable around him.

"Wenmin, dig it up." Duchess Wang Qixing laughed. "Otherwise Xueyue will steal all your favorite things."

Li Wenmin immediately picked up the chopsticks. What if there are guests? He still has a reputation to maintain!

King Li Chenyang smiled when he saw his son return to his usual funny self.

Yu Zhen had a normal appetite, but his attention was not on the food. It was on Li Xueyue. He was making sure that she was eating normally, and seeing that she was eating well, he couldn't help but smile a little more.

Yu Zhen looked at her thoughtfully, not concentrating on eating. He loved her reactions the most. When she ate something delicious, her eyes would dilate and her face would be filled with pure joy. It was absolutely adorable.

Besides the lovebirds, the whole family noticed Yu Zhen's charming expression. He was looking at her, and the family was looking at him.

Strangely, everything was in order. The atmosphere was not as awkward as expected. In fact, there was rarely any silence at all due to the slight clinking of utensils. Breakfast was over, and there was not much conversation, except for the occasional quarrel between the siblings, but what was new? Everyone in the Li family knew that the siblings liked to tease and provoke each other, but it had no effect.

Yu Zhen knew that this was where she learned her fiery tongue. It was no easy feat to have two brothers bickering with each other, especially when they loved to tease her until she blushed with embarrassment. He laughed when it was appropriate and smiled when it was necessary. It was moments like these that made him question if this was how a normal family was supposed to function.
