Just then, Li Xueyue suddenly noticed the situation around her. Fortunately for them, the corridor here was surrounded by a wall, which meant that if someone was watching them, that person was either on their left or right. She looked in both directions in panic, wondering if anyone had seen them. She was not ashamed of what she had done, but she was still a little hesitant about having a gossipy mouth.

"No one saw us. If they had, I would have noticed it too." Yu Zhen told her when he saw her peeking.

"You didn't come with anyone today?" she asked, remembering that he usually moved around with a few servants. She knew his guards were lurking somewhere, as they always were - hidden in the shadows, out of sight, out of mind.

"My servants are all outside. I didn't bring any guards with me today."

"Oh, why not?"

"I can handle my own affairs." Yu Zhen grabbed her hands and explained. He lowered his eyes and saw the topaz ring on her finger, and his smile became wider. He pulled her hand to his lips and kissed each of her knuckles.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" he asked again, intertwining his fingers with hers. He found it amusing how small her hands were compared to his much larger ones.

Li Xueyue enjoyed the heat radiating from his body. She clenched her fingers and pulled him closer. She wanted to tell him the truth, but she didn't want to blame Chen Yang.

She only spoke half-truths. "Well, breakfast is starting."

"So, you decided to run down the hallway like a mad woman looking for food?" he asked suspiciously.

She nodded.

A few seconds passed between them.

"It seems... very likely." He said cautiously, remembering the speed at which she had devoured the red bean and mung bean buns during her trip to the capital.

"Are you saying I'm fat?" She narrowed her eyes.

"Uh, I wouldn't call you skinny, would I?"

"Hmph, I bet you weigh more than me," she said, holding her chin in the air stubbornly.

"At least I'm all muscle, not - don't pull my face." He laughed, grabbing the hands that were trying to peel off his skin. The fact that there was no flesh to pull irritated her even more.

He knows this.

"It's okay, little hamster." Yu Zhen thought. "Chew food can exercise your cheeks."

"shut up."

“However, if you always exercise your jaw by eating, you won’t exercise your muscles.” Yu Zhen smiled and pulled her cheeks. She bit his fingers like an angry kitten.

"But it's okay," Yu Zhen added, "I really enjoy watching you eat." He was relieved that she wasn't picky about the food or hesitant about her behavior. Eating with someone who enjoys food is much more satisfying.

"Come on," he said, smiling.

Her eyes widened, wondering if he knew how dirty that sounded.

"—Let me fill you up. Okay?" he concluded, his smile turning into a smirk at her panicked expression. What did she think he meant?

"You'd better not have breakfast with us." A cold voice came from the corridor.

Yu Zhen didn't need to look back to know who was talking to him. Only the Li family was not afraid of his identity. They wanted to talk to him, and he allowed them to talk because Li Xueyue cared about them. If it were someone else, they would have been speechless.

Li Xueyue turned her head and looked in the direction where the sound came from.

Li Chenyang walked closer quickly, his face full of disappointment. He was not very happy that they were so close, especially since Xueyue shouldn't be so attached to him. Silly girl, what if Yu Zhen never comes back to find you?

Thinking of this, Li Chenyang felt heavy-hearted. Just imagining her heartbreak and disappointment was enough to make his scowl deepen.

"Okay, let's break up. You've ruined my appetite," he said. When his eyes turned to Yu Zhen, he added, "Uh."

Yu Zhen frowned. "Great, I don't have to watch you while I eat."

Li Chenyang's eyes narrowed into a thin line. "I think I'm recovering my appetite, just to ruin your appetite."

"Believe me, my appetite is gone."

"Okay." Li Chenyang gritted his teeth, "Let's break up now." He nodded at the intimate posture of the two.

Yu Zhen, however, shamelessly hugged her and brought her closer to him. When Li Chenyang's face twisted into a sneer, Yu Zhen rested his chin on the top of her head, just to further anger him.

"you-"

"I think the breakfast is getting cold." Li Xueyue said, stepping roughly on Yu Zhen's foot. In response, he tightened his arms and kissed her hair teasingly.

Li Chenyang sneered. "Excuse me, didn't you invite this beast to have breakfast with us?"

"I invited it myself."

“Can you be proud if you are shameless?” Li Chenyang gritted his teeth. “And I’m not talking to you.”

Yu Zhen ignored him. He grabbed Li Xueyue's hand and said, "Little hamster, I'll feed you."

“You nicknamed my sister after a rat?!” Li Chenyang frowned and turned sharply to Xueyue. “That’s it, he’s terrible. You need to find a better lover.”

Yu Zhen resisted the urge to roll his eyes into the next century. He pulled Li Xueyue forward. “It’s a cute nickname, right, Sunshine?”

“Look how quickly you changed it back,” Li Chenyang pointed out. “It shows you knew it was bad.”

“Your brother talks too much.” Yu Zhen clicked his tongue. “It would be a shame if he woke up the next morning with his mouth sewn shut.”

"Besides, it would be a shame if I influenced Dad and Mom not to give their blessing. Yueyue, don't you think so?"

Yueyue? Who exactly is Yueyue? Li Xueyue looked at her brother as if she had grown three heads. This was the first time he called her by a nickname. This was very unexpected.

Seeing her confusion, Li Chenyang smiled. "It's a great nickname, isn't it? Better than cheesy Sunshine or rude Little Hamster."

Yu Zhen narrowed his eyes in displeasure. He decided that this Li sibling no longer needed his tongue.

Li Xueyue squeezed his hand. "Or you know," she nodded to the two men, "just call me Xueyue."

"How boring." Yu Zhen frowned.

"Everyone calls you that." Li Chenyang sneered.

They said it at the same time. Neither of them seemed happy to be in sync.

Li Xueyue sighed helplessly. Breakfast had already been noisy, Li Wenmin always liked to bicker with her or Chenyang. Today would be even noisier, and there was no doubt that at least one of the siblings would be reprimanded for their behavior.

"Are we going to eat or what?" she asked angrily, getting hungrier by every second. Her stomach growled for food and none of them would be happy if she didn't eat in the next five minutes.

"Okay, okay." Li Chenyang sighed and moved closer to her. With a shove, he pushed Yu Zhen away from her. He happily put his arm around her shoulders and began to guide her forward.

"The chef made braised eggs today." He said. "What a pity." He paused and looked at Yu Zhen angrily. "It seems that people in Hanjiang don't eat braised eggs. You will starve to death in that country."

Yu Zhen angrily grabbed Li Xueyue and pulled her towards him. Li Chenyang grabbed her arm, and Yu Zhen continued to pull her, while Li Chenyang glared at her.

"It doesn't matter. I'll kidnap your chef and take them to Hanjian." Yu Zhen roared.

"The chef's family has worked with us for generations. If you kidnap him, I'll have him poison your food."

"Well, I'll slit his throat in front of his family."

"Oh yeah?" Li Chenyang sneered, "I'd like to see you try it!"

"Ladies!" Li Xueyue snapped, "You are all so beautiful!" She angrily threw the two men, or should I say, boys, away from her. "Now can we go to the restaurant or what?!"

Yu Zhen was stunned by her words. He made a secret note in his heart that he must not let her starve. This kitten might actually turn into a tiger.

"Okay." Li Chenyang chuckled, hoping to calm her annoyance. "Let's go." He tried to reach out for her hand again, but she crossed her arms.

Yu Zhen laughed evilly and put his arms around her - victory was his! But the next second, she shook him off.

Before any of them could try to assert their stupid alpha pride, Li Xueyue was already stomping through the hallway, ignoring their attempts to get her attention. If they wanted to argue and be petty, they should do it in their own free time. Not hers! Especially Piggy No. 1 Li Wenmin, who, unsurprisingly, wolfed down the braised egg before anyone could stop him!
