HP Princess bravely enters Hogwarts
Chapter 6: The Quarrel with Weasley
The Hogwarts Express whistled slowly and finally stopped at the platform.
When Segnus stepped out of the train, his eyes were immediately drawn to a three-meter-tall figure.
He was a burly man wearing a worn leather jacket and a beard that almost covered half of his face.
This is not a real giant, but the height of a half-giant still caused the freshmen to exclaim in surprise.
He just stretched out his huge hands and waved to the freshmen, his movements were clumsy but full of enthusiasm.
His eyes sparkled with a friendly light, and the corners of his mouth were raised, revealing a row of neat, large teeth.
A loud and deep voice came from his throat: "Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Hagrid, responsible for welcoming you new students."
"Come on, freshmen!"
Hagrid's voice was like thunder in the distance. He turned and walked towards a path at the edge of the platform, his steps heavy but steady. "We need to walk to the Black Lake and take a boat to Hogwarts Castle. This is a journey that every freshman must go through."
Segnus looked at the half-giant curiously, her mind full of questions.
Theodore leaned close to her ear and whispered, "You know, Hagrid's mother is a giant and his father is a wizard."
This sentence made Segnus open her mouth in surprise. She couldn't imagine a love story between a giant and a wizard.
Harry Potter had just got off the train. He was searching for something in the bustling crowd. When he saw this scene, he couldn't help feeling an indescribable loneliness in his heart.
After all, he and Segnus had only met once.
At this time, Pansy walked through the crowd towards Cygnus, her steps light and a bright smile on her face.
As she walked, she said, "Signus, I wanted to come to you alone, but I didn't want to leave Daphne behind. After all, one box can't accommodate six people."
Walking to Sensei's side, Pansy gently took Sensei's hand and rested her head on Sensei's shoulder.
Segnus smiled and consoled him, "Now you see it, don't you?"
At this moment, Daphne came from behind. She took Cygnus's other arm and said with a smile, "That's right. I don't want Pansy to stick to you alone."
Seeing the freshmen chatting in groups of two or three, Hagrid couldn't help but clap his hands vigorously, making loud applause that attracted everyone's attention.
His voice was like thunder: "Okay, freshmen, stop chatting and follow me closely. Don't get lost! The beasts in this forest will not show mercy just because you are freshmen at Hogwarts."
Everyone immediately stopped joking upon hearing this and followed Haig's steps nervously.
Harry Potter walked silently behind, his eyes occasionally looking at Sigmathe, watching her talking and laughing with Pansy and Daphne, feeling a little uncomfortable.
He tried several times to muster up the courage to go up and talk to Cygnus, but each time he closed his mouth and lowered his head at the last moment.
At last they came to the Black Lake, where the water glowed faintly in the moonlight.
Hagrid stood by the lake and shouted, "Get on the boat in groups of four. We are sailing to Hogwarts Castle."
Pansy immediately hugged Cygnus coquettishly and said with a smile: "I couldn't be with you on the train, and now I can't let you run away."
After saying this, she held Segnus's hand tightly, fearing that she would suddenly disappear.
Draco was not to be outdone, so he strode over to Cygnus and said proudly, "My father said I have to follow Cygnus."
He glared at Pansy, as if to assert his sovereignty.
Daphne was not willing to fall behind, she quickly held Cygnus's hand tightly and said with a firm look in her eyes: "I want to sit with Cygnus too."
Everyone was talking at the same time, and the atmosphere was as lively as a market.
Finally, after a lot of discussion, a decision was made: Daphne, Pansy, Cygnus and a reluctant Draco would share a small boat.
The boat was swaying on the lake. Draco looked at the deep water and felt cold all over.
His hands were tightly grasping the edge of the boat, his face was pale, and he obviously had an inexplicable fear of the lake.
Cygnus noticed Draco's uneasiness and she gently squeezed his hand, telling him not to be afraid.
She knew that as the young master of the Malfoy family, Draco had always lived in a wealthy environment, and this was the first time for him to have such an experience.
"Don't worry, Draco, we're all in this together," Cygnus said gently.
Then, she raised her wand and chanted the lighting spell: "Lumos!"
A soft light appeared at the tip of the wand, illuminating the surrounding lake.
Draco's mood also eased a lot with the arrival of light.
He loosened his grip on the edge of the boat and his face gradually returned to normal.
Seeing this, Pansy couldn't help but teased, "Oh, our Master Draco, is he afraid of the dark?"
Draco glared at her and tried to retort, but in the end he kept silent.
He knew that he did look a little embarrassed at the moment.
The boat slowly sailed towards Hogwarts Castle, creating ripples on the lake.
Under the moonlight, the ancient castle gradually revealed its outline, majestic and mysterious.
Segnus stared at the castle intently, with a determined light flashing in her eyes. She knew that this was not only a place for her to learn magic, but also a stage for her to realize her ambitions.
Her fingers unconsciously stroked the wand, her mind already planning the future.
She wants to cultivate her own talents in this magical place to help her reach a higher position in the future.
The boat glided on the lake for a while and finally slowly approached the shore.
The side of the boat rubbed gently against the rocks by the lake, making a low friction sound.
The stone steps were winding and slightly undulating, smoothed by time. The freshmen walked up the steps carefully.
At the end of the stone steps, a figure stood out.
She was a witch wearing a tall wizard hat and a green wizard robe. There was an imperceptible kindness on her serious face.
Cygnus immediately recognized it as Professor Minerva McGonagall, the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts.
"Hey, kids, welcome to Hogwarts!" Her voice was serious but gentle, "You are about to walk through this door and spend a wonderful time with your new friends.
But before that, you have to be sorted into a house - Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin."
Draco couldn't contain his excitement and turned to glance at his sister.
"Okay, freshmen, listen up!" said Professor McGonagall, waving her wand.
"During the time you have been on the land of Hogwarts, the academy will be your warm haven. Every shining point of yours will add dazzling brilliance to it.
Any misconduct will naturally tarnish its luster. At the end of the year, the house with the highest score will take home the house cup."
"Riffle!" Suddenly, Neville rushed to Professor McGonagall's feet, holding his little pet toad Riffle tightly in his arms.
He blushed, nodded sheepishly to Professor McGonagall, and quickly slipped back into the group.
The little wizards around couldn't help but giggle and covered their mouths with their hands.
Professor McGonagall did not comment further on this and continued to say to the students: "The Sorting Ceremony is about to begin. Now please split into two teams and go to the Hogwarts Great Hall."
The team quickly split into two teams, and the children were as excited as a group of birds, chirping non-stop.
There was curiosity and anticipation in their eyes.
"Hey, what do you think the sorting ceremony will be like?" a voice sounded curiously.
"My brother said we have to fight the troll!" Another little wizard waved his fists, his face full of excitement.
"If it's really an exam, then I'm not afraid. I've read all my books to pieces before coming to school!" The third child patted his chest, full of confidence.
"Hey, did you hear? The rumors on the train are true! Harry Potter really came to Hogwarts!"
Amid the freshmen's whispers, the small group of pure-bloods led by Draco searched the crowd and finally saw the black heads moving among the crowd.
That was Harry Potter, the legendary boy whose presence always seemed to attract the attention of those around him.
Draco had met Harry once before, so this time he walked towards Harry confidently, with the pride unique to the Malfoy family on his face.
He held out his hand, with graceful confidence, and said to Harry:
"We meet again. The last time we met was too hasty and I didn't introduce myself clearly. I'm very happy to be your friend. I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy."
However, a sneer of contempt broke Draco's joy.
He withdrew his right hand awkwardly, his eyes instantly turned cold, and locked onto the red-haired boy with a look of contempt.
"Red hair, old robes, who else could you be but the pure-blood traitor of the Weasley family? Is your father's pitiful income enough to support your whole family?"
He turned to look at Harry Potter, "You have to understand that some people are born superior. I can help you figure out who your true friends are."
The Weasley boy's face instantly turned red, and it was hard to tell whether it was anger or shame.
Harry Potter remained expressionless. Even though Draco Malfoy could be considered his first friend, he would never allow his friend to be insulted like this.
"I think I still have the ability to distinguish right from wrong, thank you." Harry answered calmly and firmly.
At this moment, Draco was visibly stunned, obviously not expecting Harry to respond like this.
He originally thought that their friendship was indestructible.
Cygnus walked forward lightly, took Draco's hand, and glanced at the red-haired Weasley calmly.
"If I'm not mistaken, you were the one who started the ridicule, and it doesn't seem very gentlemanly to laugh at someone during an introduction, don't you, Mr. Weasley?"
She then turned to Harry Potter and said jokingly, "Mr. Potter, next time before you defend your friend, perhaps you should use your brain first, instead of blindly supporting him. If I see someone disrespecting Malfoy again, I can't guarantee the consequences that will happen."
Everyone always thought that she was a kind witch with no sharp edges. However, how could someone who could help her younger brother ascend the throne have no blood on her hands?
Harry looked at Sigmathe in disbelief, his eyes wide open, as if the gentle little witch he had been thinking about suddenly turned into a stranger in front of him.
He couldn't believe his ears that Segnus would say such a thing to him.
Cygnus noticed Harry's expression and smiled, with a hint of amusement in her smile, as if she was looking at a small animal trapped in a trap.
"It seems that our Mr. Potter has not figured out the cause of the incident. Sometimes he either looks pitiful or is the weaker party."
She said softly, her voice full of seduction.
Harry frowned, thinking about what Cygnus said. He looked at Ron, whose face was very red, as if it had been burned by fire.
Ron's eyes were full of anxiety and uneasiness. He waved his hands anxiously, trying to persuade Harry not to believe Sigman.
"Don't listen to her, Harry!" said Ron anxiously. "She's a venomous snake, and she's just trying to whitewash little Malfoy! You can't be fooled by her sweet talk!"
He stamped his feet hard, as if he wanted to vent all his emotions through this action.
"I admit that I may have overreacted, but Malfoy, that brat, his superiority is really intolerable!"
Cygnus stood aside coldly, watching this dramatic scene, raised his eyebrows and said sarcastically: "Weasley, weren't you the first to laugh at Draco's name? Or do you think it is a righteous act to laugh at other people's names?"
Her words stunned everyone present. Ron was choked and speechless. He could only stare at Cygnus with a red face and angrily.
Harry frowned, watching the argument with conflicted feelings.
He knew that Ron was genuinely kind to him, but he couldn't refute what Cygnus said.
At this time, Cygnus smiled gently, turned around, took Draco's hand, and led him back to their small pure-blood group.
She walked gracefully, and every step seemed so calm, as if everything that had just happened had nothing to do with her.
Draco followed Sigman, his face again covered with that proud expression, and when he passed by Harry and Ron, he straightened his back deliberately to declare his victory.
