In the distant past, tens of thousands of years ago, C'Thun and other ancient gods descended from the endless dark void and appeared on the continent of Azeroth in an unstoppable manner. They brought the power of decay and destruction, like giant pustules that spread rapidly, spreading the haze of despair to every corner.

The organic matter that seeped out of the decayed bodies of these ancient gods gave birth to the cunning and resourceful Enlaki, also known as the "Faceless Ones", and the tenacious and powerful Aqir Zerg. With the assistance of this group of loyal servants, the Old Gods continued to expand the boundaries of their territory.

As time went by, even the elemental creatures of Azeroth could not escape the control of the Old Gods and became their slaves. At this point, the eternal twilight of the Dark Empire shone on this once vibrant land, plunging the entire Azeroth into a deep vortex of pain, torture and death.

One day in the long years, the powerful Titan Aggramar suddenly felt a mysterious power fluctuation coming from afar. After careful sensing, he was surprised to find that this power actually came from a new life that had just been born - the Pantheon called it Azeroth.

The power of this new relative was so great that even the well-informed Aggramar was shocked. He had never thought that such a young being could possess such earth-shaking power. So, with full of expectations and curiosity, Aggramar decided to go to Azeroth to find out for himself.

Some of the cunning Aqir fled to the southwest and occupied the important place of Ahn'Qiraj. Not only that, these hateful guys also enslaved the Anubisath giants who were originally responsible for guarding Ahn'Qiraj and made them their slaves.

Although the Yaqir Zerg used all means possible, even driving the corrupted Titan creations to fight their enemies, the brave and fearless Gurubashi Trolls were not intimidated. C'Thun awakens in his prison and realizes that the Silithids have gathered around him. Driven by the Old Gods, the Qiraji and the Silithids fall into a killing frenzy and then sweep across Silithus. This is the beginning of the War of the Shifting Sands. The entire Silithus is engulfed by the Qiraji and the Silithid tide in an instant. After a desperate fight, the druids and their allies were on the verge of victory, but they were ambushed by the Qiraji and Valstann was killed in the ambush.
