My Rebirth and the Strange Adventure of Black Zhen

Chapter 317: Thrall’s Past (Part )

Thrall sent his advisor Eitrigg to oversee the new Horde members. Thrall sensed new dangers lurking in the caves of Orgrimmar, and sent young Horde adventurers to monitor Nerlu Burning Blade. They discovered that Nerlu was actually the leader of the Burning Blade clan and was in collusion with the Burning Blade cultists. Eventually, the Horde adventurers eliminated the Burning Blade forces in Ragefire Chasm. Thrall also sent the orc Gordir to Hillsbrad to deal with the Syndicate's troubles. In the end, Gordir killed the leader of the Syndicate, Lord Oridon Perenolde, and retrieved Taretha's necklace from his mistress Alyssa, and returned it to Thrall.

Thrall sent the Kargath Expedition to explore new territory in the Badlands, and the commander, Gor'shak, was sent to Blackrock Depths. There, Gor'shak was deliberately captured by the Dark Iron dwarves to gather intelligence, and then he learned that Moira Thaurissan was imprisoned by the Dark Iron dwarves. Thrall immediately sent people to kill Emperor Dagran Thaurissan upon learning of this, trying to repair relations with the Alliance. However, Moira was deeply saddened by her husband's death, and she vowed to take revenge on the Horde as soon as her son Dagran Thaurissan II ascended the throne of Ironforge. Thrall then summoned Sylvanas and Cairne Bloodhoof to discuss the matter. However, in the book The Sundering: Prelude to the Cataclysm, it is recorded that the emperor was killed by Magni's elite troops, and there is no mention of the involvement of Horde forces.

Thrall also sent the warlock Fizeruil to investigate the visions at the temple of Atal'Hakkar. At some point, Thrall also sent an emissary to contact the Timbermaw clan on behalf of the Horde.

Drek'Thar informed Thrall of the history of the orc race during the time of Draenor, and began to write a book to record this information. When Durotar and Orgrimmar were finally built, Thrall and his orcs performed ancient orc rituals for the first time, such as Om'ragol. Not long after, a human spy revealed to Thrall that the Prophet Velen and the draenei had crash-landed on Azeroth and joined the Alliance. Thrall was deeply concerned about this, believing that this would endanger the peace between the two sides.

In the year 25 of the Eternal Era, Thrall entered into negotiations with Quel'Thalas regarding joining the Horde. Although Thrall admired the tactical value of the Blood Knights, he clearly expressed his dislike for their way of doing things. However, he eventually accepted the blood elves.

Although the Forsaken race leader, Dark Queen Sylvanas, brokered the deal, she insisted that she had made a huge contribution to it.

It was just that Thrall consolidated the Horde's power in the Eastern Kingdoms continent and reduced the Horde's extreme dependence on the Forsaken race.

In addition, Thrall's move brought a large number of mages, priests, and paladins to the tribe.

He then discovered that there was a group of orcs in Outland that had not yet been corrupted by the demons. This group of orcs called themselves "Mag'har". They were composed of orcs from various clans who were unwilling to join Mannoroth's Burning Legion and were not influenced by Kil'jaeden at all. Thrall immediately formulated a plan to find them. Eitrigg advised Thrall to be fully prepared in case Orgrimmar was taken advantage of during this period.

Later, accompanied by Drek'Thar, Thrall arrived in Outland and met his grandmother Gaiaan. He also showed Garrosh Hellscream the scene of his father Grommash's heroic death and the removal of the blood curse. During the meeting with Grandmother Gaiaan, Thrall learned his true name - Go'el, son of Durotan, the legal heir of the Frostwolf clan.

After returning from Draenor, Garrosh Hellscream and retired gladiator master Rehgar became advisors to Thrall. The two had opposing views on relations with the Alliance, with Garrosh determined to destroy the Alliance, while Rehgar preferred to maintain peace with Theramore and open diplomatic negotiations with the Alliance. Thrall then received an invitation from Jaina to meet in Razor Hill. Jaina told Thrall that Varian Wrynn had returned to Stormwind, and she was willing to facilitate a meeting between the human king and Thrall in Theramore to ease tensions between the Alliance and the Horde. Although Thrall was uneasy about leaving Orgrimmar during the orcs' unrest, he still accepted the suggestion.

Thrall decided to take two of his advisors with him to Theramore, in addition to the Kor'kron guards.[51] Rehgar expressed concern about Garrosh's presence, but Thrall saw this as a great opportunity to change Garrosh's attitude towards humans.

Thrall and his entourage then arrived at Theramore aboard a zeppelin. [52] The summit was held in a peaceful atmosphere, with both sides discussing some historical conflicts and looking forward to the future in a mutually beneficial way. During the meeting, Varian agreed to provide Thrall with wood to meet the Horde's needs, thereby resolving the wood dispute between the orcs and the night elves. In return, the Horde would provide the Alliance with copper and hides. However, Goldshire and Southshore were invaded by the Scourge, and Varian was forced to end the meeting early. Just as both sides were about to leave Theramore, cultists from the Twilight's Hammer infiltrated the city and launched an attack on both the Alliance and the Horde. The cultists had assassins from the opposing factions attack the leaders of both sides in order to confuse the truth and instigate a war between the Horde and the Alliance. In the chaos, Varian saw Garona, and he believed that Thrall had sent her to assassinate him, just as his father had been. [51] During the battle, Med'an appeared and tried to protect his mother, but the cultists tried to kidnap him. Garrosh and Varian accused each other of orchestrating the incident, but Thrall tried to calm the two sides and assured Varian that Garona was not behind it. Varian expressed doubts about the honor of the orcs, but Rehgar and Valeera Sanguinar insisted that neither Thrall nor Varian would sabotage the peace talks by assassinating the other's leader on neutral territory. Thrall and Jaina finally said goodbye to each other, expressing their deep regret that the peace talks had failed. This incident cast a shadow on the already delicate bilateral relationship. Soon after, Thrall returned to Orgrimmar.

Thrall later declined an invitation to join the new Council of Tirisfal and had Rehgar join the council in his place.

After Thrall returned to Orgrimmar, the Lich King carried out his plan and created a zombie invasion. Grand Apothecary Putress found an antidote to the plague caused by the Scourge. Faced with the threat, Thrall met with Sylvanas Windrunner, Garrosh Hellscream, Varok Saurfang, Grand Apothecary Putress, and Rehgar Earthfury in Orgrimmar to discuss how to deal with the Scourge.[56]

Ultimately, Thrall preferred a more cautious approach, sending a scouting force to Northrend before deploying his army, and meeting with Jaina Proudmoore to determine how the Alliance would respond to the Lich King. [55] Garrosh believed that working with the Alliance would only bring danger to the Horde, and planned to destroy the humans first and then attack Northrend, so that the Horde could unite Azeroth. [56] Thrall was angered by Garrosh's recklessness and disregard for orders, and rebuked Garrosh, saying that humans were no threat, [56] and that he would never underestimate the power of the Lich King and send his army into the frozen lands to fall into the Scourge's trap. [55] In order to punish Garrosh, Thrall deliberately used Grommash's story to provoke the young Hellscream. Garrosh, believing that his father had been insulted, challenged Thrall to a duel in the Arena of Valor. [55] [56] The two orcs then began to duel, with Garrosh gradually gaining the upper hand[55] until their duel was interrupted by the Lich King's heralds invading Orgrimmar. Thrall decided to put his differences with Garrosh aside and fight another day[55][56]. Orgrimmar was now under attack from several death knights and numerous abominations and frost dragons.

Thrall and Garrosh led the Horde army to launch a counterattack against the Scourge, and with the help of Saurfang, Sylvanas[55] and Rehgar[56], they defeated the invading Scourge. Garrosh then requested to go to Northrend again, and Thrall agreed and ordered Saurfang to prepare for war.

The Death Knight adventurer who broke free from the will of the Lich King came to Orgrimmar to meet Thrall, asked to join the Horde and brought a letter from Tirion Fordring. Fordring asked Eitrigg to go to Northrend, and Thrall agreed.

Thrall met Trag Highmountain, a tauren whose mind was corrupted by the Lich King. Trag could not erase the violent thoughts growing in his mind. He tried to avoid the tauren and orcs and went to Northrend to succumb to the control of the Lich King. Trag tried to kill Thrall under the influence of mind control, but Thrall still did not give up on him and tried to use the power of shaman to help the tauren overcome their fear. In the end, Trag temporarily curbed the control of the Lich King, but he was still confused about his future. In order to ensure that he would not succumb to the Lich King, Trag declined Thrall's request to stay and decided to take the Horde ship to Northrend to face his own fate.

As the Alliance and Horde begin their assault on the Wrathgate, a rebellion breaks out in the Forsaken capital of Undercity. Varimathras and his demonic minions seize Undercity and execute all members who refuse to pledge allegiance to him. Sylvanas escapes and makes her way to Orgrimmar. Thrall and Sylvanas immediately plan a counterattack to prevent the dreadlord from establishing a foothold on Horde territory. During this time, Jaina Proudmoore brings bad news: after Lord Bolvar Fordragon was killed by plague at the Wrathgate, Varian Wrynn is preparing to bring an army to the Horde to punish him. Jaina is here to seek an explanation from the Horde. Thrall and Sylvanas explain that Putress's rebellion was not initiated by the Horde, and Jaina warns them that Varian will not let it go.

Thrall, Sylvanas, and Vol'jin led the offensive against Undercity. After destroying the Forsaken rebels and demons, the Horde coalition killed Varimathras. As the Horde celebrated their victory, Varian's army had already entered Undercity and killed Putress. Varian announced to Thrall that because of the horrors of the Forsaken in Undercity, there would never be peace between the Horde and the Alliance. Just as the two sides were about to go to war, Jaina appeared and teleported Varian and the Alliance army back to Stormwind. Thrall was disappointed that peace was broken, and Varok Saurfang arrived and reminded Thrall of his responsibilities as the chieftain of the Horde. Thrall ordered Bragon Bloodfist to lead a team of Kor'kron Guards to garrison Undercity to prevent the Burning Legion from reviving.

The orcs are not only on guard against the Alliance, but also the Forsaken. Strengthening the Horde Chieftain's control over the Forsaken race is one of the purposes of deploying orc troops to Undercity.

Brann Bronzebeard discovered that the Old God Yogg-Saron had escaped from the prison of Ulduar, and he told Rhonin the news. Rhonin asked Jaina to immediately summon Thrall and Varian to the Violet Keep to discuss countermeasures. After weighing the pros and cons of the current situation, Thrall and Garrosh quickly set off to the Violet Keep. Jaina stopped Thrall to avoid running into Varian, but at Garrosh's instigation, Thrall still entered Rhonin's room, where Garrosh and Varian clashed and fought. Thrall was unable to stop them until Rhonin appeared and stopped the killing of both sides. Rhonin asked the two sides to join hands again in the face of the enemy, but Varian said that he could not forgive the crimes committed by the tribe in front of the Wrathgate, so he left halfway. Garrosh took the opportunity to declare that a true warchief would never cooperate with cowards, and Thrall expressed his disappointment and dissatisfaction with these words and deeds.

After leaving Dalaran, Thrall followed Garrosh back to Warsong Hold in Northrend. On the way, Garrosh recalled the scene when he first came to Orgrimmar. Outside the fortress, the garrison destroyed a group of invading spider demons, and then received a report from the captain of the Hammer of Orgrimmar, Sky-Reaver Korm Blackscar, that his troops had ambushed an Alliance army attacking Mordressa, the Death's Gate, on the Broken Front. Garrosh realized that Thrall was examining him through this incident, so he recalled Korm to Warsong Hold, denounced his unglorious ambush, and ordered him to atone for his sins. Thrall was quite satisfied with his decision and handling, and expressed his pride in him.

Accompanied by Warlord Garrosh Hellscream, Horde Chieftain Thrall came to Icecrown Glacier to attend the Silver Tournament held at the Crusader Arena. Tirion Fordring, the commander of the Silver Crusade, warmly welcomed Thrall and his party. Afterwards, the two parties watched the trial together, accompanied by representatives of the Horde camp.

During this period, the commander of the Silver Crusade, Highlord Tirion Fordring, indirectly instigated the elites of the Horde and the Alliance to fight against each other, so as to select the best candidate to defeat the Lich King.

However, the Horde and the Alliance each had their own victories and defeats.

The Silver Crusade, led by Grand Lord Tirion Fordring, led the elites of the Horde and the Alliance to attack the Lich King's throne.
