My Rebirth and the Strange Adventure of Black Zhen
Chapter 316: Thrall’s Past (Part )
When Thrall arrived at the foot of Stonetalon Peak, he unexpectedly encountered Grommash. He and his Warsong clan were fighting against the human army led by Jaina Proudmoore. The human army occupied the road leading to the top of the mountain. Thrall could only plan to hire the goblin zeppelins to bypass the defenses. However, Grommash lost his patience and launched an attack rashly, and Thrall was forced to join the battle. Thrall eventually got some airships and was able to reach the top of the mountain. When questioning Grommash's rash attack, Grommash argued that "a true warrior would never sneak around the defenses and avoid fighting."
Thrall was deeply concerned about Grommash's recklessness and bloodthirstiness, believing that this would only bring trouble to the Horde, and he ordered Grommash and his clan to remain in Ashenvale while he climbed to the top of the mountain, which Grommash reluctantly did.
Thrall met Cairne Bloodhoof again on the way up the mountain. He found that he could not continue to move up without flying tools. Cairne suggested that they form an alliance with the wyverns of Stonetalon Mountains. These creatures were being enslaved by the harpy witches. After a battle, Thrall rescued the wyverns. In return, the wyverns flew Thrall and his tribe to the top of the mountain and helped them defeat the human garrison stationed there.
In the cave on the top of the mountain, Thrall and Cairne found the Oracle's bedroom and unexpectedly discovered Jaina Proudmoore. Just as they were about to fight, the Oracle appeared and revealed his true identity - Medivh. It was he who led Thrall and Jaina here in Lordaeron as a prophet. He told Thrall about Grommash's corruption and that now the orcs and humans must join forces, otherwise only destruction awaits them. Although very reluctant, Thrall had to agree in order to save Grommash.
Thrall returns to the Barrens to find Grommash and his corrupted Warsong clan, and to fight the demons that have invaded Kalimdor. In the end, an epic battle breaks out between Thrall's Horde and Grommash's army, with countless hellfires falling from the sky and fel flames burning the night sky. With the help of Cairne, Thrall fights his way through the crazy chaos orcs. After defeating countless doomguards, fel hounds and warlocks, Thrall meets his old friend. Grommash taunts Thrall and tells him that the orcs chose to drink the blood of the demons voluntarily, and he knows what the price will be - he will become an eternal servant of the demons. The angry Thrall and Grommash start a duel, and the armies of both sides and the demon army also fight in a group. Thrall eventually gained the upper hand and used the Soulstone to capture Grommash's essence. The demonic power was purified by the shamanism and magic of the night elves. Grommash repented, and to make up for his mistakes, he and Thrall immediately set out on the road to the canyon created by the Hellfire crash site to hunt down Mannoroth.
Thrall took the initiative to attack Mannoroth but was suppressed and his life was hanging by a thread.
Especially the big demon spread out his broken demon wings to protect his body.
Thrall was so surprised that his mouth opened wide enough to fit an egg.
"It's a good shot, but it's not hot enough."
The complacent demon Malonos mocked.
"You should know that this shaman is not one of us. We all have demon blood in our bodies."
Thrall took out his secondary weapon and used shaman enchantment to try to increase the attack power of the secondary weapon.
"Blood and thunder, for the Horde."
The roar of Thrall not only gave himself courage, but also reminded Gromash Hellscream beside him.
The fel energy collides with the shaman's thunder itself.
Gromash Hellscream launches a sneak attack from a blind spot.
The shockwave repelled Thrall's attack.
An explosion of fel energy blew away Gromash Hellscream's charge.
Grommash then struck a fatal blow to Mannoroth, using Gorehowl to slash through the pit lord's armor and into his abdomen. The massive energy that erupted from Mannoroth's body as he died struck Grommash directly, killing the Warsong Chieftain. Eventually, the demon's blood-red eyes gradually faded from the eyes of Grommash Hellscream and the orcs of the Warsong Clan. Before dying, Grommash told Thrall that he was "free at last", and Thrall reassured Grommash that it was not only him who was freed, but all the orcs who had been corrupted by the demon.
Thrall and Jaina then traveled to Ashenvale, only to find themselves in the midst of a new threat: the night elves blamed the orcs for the death of Cenarius and attacked the orcs when they attempted to establish a settlement.[26]
In Ashenvale, demons and undead, orcs and humans, and night elves are all fighting for survival. [27][28] Finally, Thrall followed the guidance of the vision and brought Jaina to a small forest under Mount Hyjal. There they met the night elf leaders Tyrande Whisperwind and Malfurion Stormrage. They were very surprised to see each other. As expected, this meeting was still planned by Medivh. The last Guardian of Tirisfal appeared and told everyone present that they must unite to fight against the Burning Legion, otherwise they will all be defeated. [29] Despite the difficulty, Malfurion and Tyrande agreed to form an alliance to fight against the Burning Legion and its undead minions under Archimonde. [30]
To defend Mount Hyjal and the World Tree Nordrassil, the Allies built three fortresses along the mountain. Thrall's fortress was manned by orcs, Darkspear trolls, tauren, and goblins. All tried their best to delay Archimonde's advance and buy time for the night elves to set a trap.[30]
Eventually Archimonde approached the top of the mountain, mocking Thrall and his race for being so weak and insignificant. Thrall responded that Archimonde's orcs had an extremely strong will, and even if they were defeated, they would die free. Furious, Thrall threw a lightning chain at Archimonde, but was quickly taken away by Jaina's teleportation spell. After a great battle, the coalition killed Archimonde and defeated the invading Burning Legion.
After the victory at Seamount (some say it was shortly after the Burning Legion landed)[31], Thrall gathered the tribes to find a place to live. The orcs defeated the Bristle Boarmen[32][33] and founded Durotar, named in honor of Thrall's father Durotan[34]. The capital was named Orgrimmar, after Orgrim Doomhammer. After a few months, the tribes settled down separately. The orcs spread throughout Durotar, the tauren established themselves in Mulgore, and the trolls established their home in the Echo Isles.
Thrall then met Rexxar of the Mok'Nathal clan. Rexxar had previously met Thrall's messenger, Mogrin, who was ambushed by quilboar and subsequently died from his wounds. He entrusted Rexxar with the task of delivering the message. Thrall hoped that Rexxar would join the new Horde. Rexxar decided to stay, but proposed to earn a place for himself with practical actions. Thrall agreed to his request and sent the shadow hunter Rokhan to assist Rexxar. Rexxar then met the Pandaren Brewmaster Chen Stormstout on his adventure. During this time, Thrall stayed in Orgrimmar and helped with the city construction. [35]
After Durotar's coastal areas were constantly harassed by humans, Thrall arranged a meeting with Jaina. Rexxar sensed a trap behind the meeting and persuaded Thrall to let him attend the meeting in his place. It turned out that the Alliance envoy had no intention of negotiating and attempted to assassinate Rexxar, but failed. Thrall did not believe that such a thing could be done by Jaina, so he ordered Rexxar to go to Theramore with his secret letter to meet Jaina in person to verify the authenticity. [35]
After Rexxar returns from Theramore, Thrall tells Thrall that Admiral Daelin Proudmoore is determined to fight the orcs and has arrived with a large army. Thrall realizes that the only way to stop the war is to kill Daelin. Thrall is aided by Rexxar, Cairne's tauren, and the Stonemaul ogres. [36] However, Thrall is told that Durotar is blocked by Theramore's fleet and that the Horde cannot reach Theramore. As Thrall is frustrated, Jaina teleports to him and assures him that it is her father's doing and that she is unaware and powerless to stop him. Thrall sympathizes with Jaina and tells her that the Admiral's actions will only lead to the destruction of Durotar and the only way to stop him is to kill him. [37] Jaina understands and offers to help, telling Thrall the location of a nearby goblin shipyard so that the Horde can break through Daelin's blockade. She asks Thrall to treat Theramore's soldiers with mercy during the upcoming battle. Thrall promises Jaina that he will do everything possible to minimize bloodshed and casualties and advises Jaina to stay in a safe place before the battle begins. [37]
Using the ships provided by the goblins, the Horde was able to break through the blockade and reach the island to confront Daelin's forces. Rexxar, Rokhan, Chen, and Cairne reached the Admiral, and Thrall tried to persuade Daelin, telling him that the Horde was different from the one he had encountered a few years ago, and that the new Horde had no intention of conquering or killing. However, Daelin, who was blinded by hatred, did not listen to him. Furious, the Admiral demanded that the orcs pay for the innocent humans who died in the genocide of Stormwind and Lordaeron, and vowed that he would never stop hunting the orcs as long as he lived. Rexxar had no choice but to kill Daelin Proudmoore. [38] As Daelin fell, Rexxar announced to the surrounding Theramore soldiers that the battle was over, and Jaina arrived to hold her father's body. Rexxar comforted her, telling her that Daelin was a proud and fearless warrior, and Thrall declared that he had no hostility towards the remaining human soldiers, and that the Horde army would withdraw peacefully from Theramore and return to Durotar, leaving Jaina to continue mourning.
Thrall was very grateful for what Rexxar had done, and he sincerely invited Rexxar to stay, but Rexxar politely rejected Thrall, telling Thrall that he was a child of the wilderness, and that the wilderness was where he should live. At the same time, he promised Thrall that he would always be a member of the tribe, and that he would come back whenever he was needed. Thrall finally said goodbye to Rexxar and continued to build Durotar, and everything returned to peace.
The shaman Kalthar warns Thrall about the unusual movement in the mountains of Kalimdor. Thrall then sends Broxigar and Gaskar to investigate. On the way, they meet Krasus and Rhonin, who are also attracted by the strange phenomenon. The four then travel back to 10,000 years ago. Gaskar dies on the way, and Broxigar dies in the final War of the Ancients. His weapon, the Axe of Cenarius, is taken back and returned to Thrall by Krasus.
Three years passed, and Orgrimmar grew stronger and more proud. A series of minor conflicts broke out between the orcs of Durotar and the humans of Theramore. Thrall and Jaina did their best to keep the peace in the region, but the orcs began to grow out of Thrall's control, and a warrior named Berkus led a group of orcs and trolls to occupy Northwatch, a fortress that Jaina had previously controlled. As the battle began, Jaina informed Thrall that these orcs were secretly loyal to the Burning Blade, and that they had been misled into believing that true orcs must serve the Burning Legion (which was manipulated by the demon Zmodler) if they wanted to rise. Thrall put an end to this madness and rebuked Berkus, who argued that he was acting in the best interests of the Horde, so Thrall swung the Hammer of Doom and smashed his head. [40]
In the end, the dispute was contained by Thrall and Jaina, avoiding escalation into a full-scale conflict between the Alliance and the Horde. In the following years, although the relationship between the two sides has been tense, they have generally maintained restraint. However, some frictions still occur from time to time, continuing the cycle of hatred.
As Warchief of the Horde, Thrall resides in the Great Hall of the Valley of Wisdom. He is considered the most powerful orc alive.[41]
The Shattered Hands that remained in Azeroth became an important part of Thrall's new Horde. With the establishment of Durotar and the Horde's capital in Orgrimmar, the Shattered Hands began to train assassins for the Chieftain. However, their loyalty has always been elusive. A Shattered Hand member named Zandusa claimed to have foreseen Thrall's death, but his contact, the despicable Venix, claimed that Zandusa was a little crazy and his words might not be taken seriously.
After defeating the Burning Legion and Daelin Proudmoore, Thrall still faced new threats. During this period, Thrall received an envoy sent by Sylvanas Windrunner, and the Forsaken wanted to join the Horde. The hesitant Thrall accepted this group of undead under the persuasion of Hamuul Runetotem, and the Horde's sphere of influence covered Lordaeron again.
After the establishment of the new Horde, the Remnanttusks learned of the news and sent envoys to Thrall. At first, Thrall was wary of these trolls, but then he found that the Remnanttusks were very unique compared to other jungle trolls - they were not good at fighting and did not have rich resources. Instead, they were cunning and good at bargaining. The Remnanttusks had an excellent reputation and credibility before meeting Thrall. They were also touched by Thrall's dreams and plans. Despite this, the barbaric old Horde still left an indelible psychological shadow on the Remnanttusks. In the end, the Remnanttusks refused to join the Horde directly, but decided to remain friendly with the Horde and provide mutual assistance.
