HP in the name of Slytherin

Chapter 5 Refrigerator and Rune Magic

Catherine scratched Herbo's chin, and pushed its head further away from its tail, and asked quietly: "Did we live here before?"

Haierbo tilted his head: "Not at first, but later...well...not entirely..."

Its words were very messy, and Catherine couldn't think of the reason for the moment. She could only ask more importantly: "Have you lived for a long time?"

"Well, it seems like Haierpo doesn't remember the time..."

Catherine Tuqiong asked: "Then what will we eat while we live here?"

Haierbo raised the snake's head and looked out the window: "The master will bring food back from outside."

Outside was a dusty courtyard with seemingly no living animals or plants.

Haierbo turned to look at the row of large cabinets on the side of the kitchen: "And here."

Catherine walked to the cabinets. Some of these cabinets were made of wood, and some seemed to be made of metal.

She opened one of the wooden cabinets and placed some fruits and vegetables layer by layer inside.

There are those that look like stones, and there are also those that are shriveled...

She took a step back and pulled Herbo back, who was leaning over to take a bite.

Even if she had no memory, these things should be inedible.

"Master, master!" Haierbo twisted his body eagerly, "Helpo is hungry!"

"This..." Catherine wanted to say that this was inedible, but an idea flashed in her head, and she saw all kinds of inedible food in the cabinet.

Haierbo seemed to be sure that these things could be eaten and couldn't wait.

She asked Halpo in a low voice, "Did I use any magic when I got these food?"

"The master will use 'restore as before', 'remove petrification', 'clean up', 'inject vitality', and..."

Haierbo recited a long series of incantations, wagging his tail anxiously while chanting, and finally ended with the familiar "Master, Haierbo is hungry."

Catherine recited the spell silently several times, pointed her wand at a petrified apple, "Unpetrified."

The stone outer layer of the apple quickly faded away. Catherine took out the apple and knocked it, making a crisp sound.

Haierbo was almost twisted around her neck, and something like saliva flowed out in a daze, making Catherine's neck wet.

I didn't bite it directly.

Catherine had no choice but to hand the apple over and said, "Eat it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Haierbo dived into the apple and began to bite it quickly. Almost in the blink of an eye, only a small piece of the snake's tail was left outside, waving it happily like a puppy's tail.

Catherine got another apple, but as soon as she took a bite, Helbo poked his head out again, and there was no dregs left on the first apple in her hand.

No matter how long the apple has been petrified, it still tastes good after recovery, crisp and sweet.

Catherine licked the tips of her teeth, and finally prostrated herself under Helbo's small black sesame-like eyes. She handed over the apple she had only taken one bite of, "Do you want to eat it?"

"Long live the master!" The last syllable disappeared in the sound of chewing apples.

Catherine poked its tail, dumbfounded, and the little tail quickly got into the apple. This time, Catherine could clearly feel the apple becoming lighter and disappearing between breaths. Haierbo would eat all the pulp and core from inside. , and finally swallow the entire peel.

Catherine quickly de-petrified three more apples, gave one to Halpo, took a quick bite of the other, and waited for Halpo to finish eating the remaining one.

She was also so hungry that she wanted to put Haierbo on the table so that she could eat it by herself. After moving a few steps, she realized that her body also felt very heavy.

Her magic power was a little overdrawn again.

The good news is that she feels her magic will be restored soon, but the bad news is that she has only restored five apples.

"If you still have some common sense," Salazar's cold voice came from his mind, "the magic power consumed for 'living things' is naturally higher than for 'dead things'."

Catherine pondered the meaning of Salazar's words and quickly realized, "I'm sorry, father, I understand."

Salazar didn't respond to her anymore. Catherine closed the wooden cabinet and looked at other cabinets while waiting for the magic power to be restored.

There are a lot of fruits, scattered vegetables, and boxes of seeds that are sorted and labeled with names...

After Halbo finished eating two apples, he saw Catherine observing the cabinet and suddenly appeared at the soles of Catherine's feet - he could go anywhere in the castle instantly, but he did not dare or could not jump directly to Catherine, and could only follow Catherine's feet. Climb up.

Catherine held its little head and lifted it up.

She had finished looking at the wooden cabinets, and what was left were a few metal cabinets. After opening, water gushes out of them, and there is also the smell of rotten food...

Catherine choked and coughed.

"Ouch..." Haierbo kept poking his head or not, as if he was debating whether to eat this thing or not.

Catherine quickly took a step back, cleaned up and threw it over, and the rotten food and sewage disappeared.

"What is this?" she asked Helbo.

Haierbo thought for a moment, "Hmm", "Hmm", "The master said, this is called a refrigerator."

"A refrigerator?" Catherine stretched out her hand and tried it. She didn't feel the ice, but discovered other details. "This wasn't in the castle from the beginning, was it?"

Those wooden cabinets were all carved with magic runes that she couldn't understand, but these refrigerators were not. The inside of the one she opened was very smooth, and the others... She didn't want to open the others for the time being. They thought they were similar to this one... …Probably everything is broken.

Haierbo's body trembled, and his voice began to sound guilty: "This... refrigerator was brought back by the owner later..."

Catherine said "hmm" without meaning.

Haierbo said in a loud voice: "The master asked Haierbo to remember to power them up so that they would have something cool to eat, but Haierbo fell asleep, oooooooo!"

It was crying, and this time it didn't even dare to cry out that it was hungry.

Catherine had no choice but to wipe the tears of the little basilisk and ask it at the same time: "Can you provide power? What is power supply?"

Seeing that Catherine was not angry, Haierbo quickly said: "Even if Haierbo makes these appliances come alive like a castle, Haierbo doesn't know how the owner does it. Anyway, as long as Haierbo eats a little more, he can energize the appliances in the castle."

Its voice rarely became fast and clear, as if it was afraid that if it spoke slower, Catherine would throw it out.

Catherine was confused by what she heard, but she roughly understood that this should also be an item for storing food, but now everything inside was broken.

Unlike the things in the wooden cabinet, the things in the wooden cabinet are locked in time by various magic spells, and maybe she doesn't have the ability to carve magic runes on the refrigerator? Not stored as long as the contents of the cupboard anyway.

Wait, speaking of which, what are magic runes?

"The runes on these cabinets..." She poked Helbo.

Haierbo knew that she was not angry, and his voice returned to a delicate tone: "You and a group of young people did it~"

Since the owner is not angry, it started its traditional performance again: "Master, Haierbo is still hungry~"

"I know, I know."

Catherine found new food this time that was more suitable for them - some petrified smoked fish, bacon and hard blackened bread!

Since Salazar said that using magic on living objects will consume more magic power, then these things that are already dead and processed should consume less.

In fact, as she thought, the magic power required to unlock ten smoked fish and a large piece of bacon was about the same as the magic power required to unlock a few apples. She could also use "Restore to Original" to restore the softness of the stone-like bread.

As for these things being very dry...

At least the water from the faucet didn't cost her magic power.

What's even better is that after she took away the food, new smoked fish, bacon and bread were hung up after a while. She looked back at the cabinet at the beginning and the apples she had taken away were also back.

"Where do these things come from?" she asked Haierbo.

Haierbo was engrossed in chewing the hard smoked fish. Hearing this, he raised his head and said with fish residue in the corner of his mouth: "There are many, many stored in the cellar, and the magic will pass them up."

"It seems that we will have to check out our food reserves later." There are still many seeds in the cabinet. Restoring the vitality and planting of the seeds should not consume too much magic power.

She couldn't eat bacon, fish and bread all the time, it was too fishy and dry!
