HP in the name of Slytherin
Chapter 6 A self-sufficient castle
The several levels of cellars under the castle were indeed filled with food. Based on Catherine's own consumption, if Herbo was not allowed to eat it, she might not be able to finish it in decades.
I don’t know whether it is for the convenience of preservation, to exercise the magic power, or to prevent Haierbo from eating it secretly. These things cannot be eaten directly, and the magic power needs to be restored before they can be eaten.
There are also many seeds and branches of food, vegetables, fruits and magical plants that she really seems to have figured out how to grow.
The little Helbo ate smoked fish that was more than ten times larger than its current body. Finally, it felt a little full, and it was enough to turn on all the remaining lights in the castle. For a moment, the dark castle was as bright as day... Of course, it started crying hungry again right after.
Catherine could only remove the petrification of a few smoked fish and let it eat slowly on its own plate...
Catherine could not remember the specific situation of Haierbo. She only remembered that it was a very strange basilisk. If she wanted to know more, she could only go to the study room upstairs to find the answer.
After the castle was reduced to three floors by Herbo, in addition to the first floor which was occupied by the hall, dining room and kitchen, the second and third floors were all occupied by study rooms, leaving Catherine with only one suite.
As Salazar said, she could indeed slowly find some memories by looking at them herself.
There are countless books of various types in the vast study room. Catherine can quickly recall information about spells. As long as she sees the spells in the book, she can naturally recall how to use them.
Many books are marked with notes. Some of the words are hers, and some of the words are unfamiliar. The fonts are all different. It seems that they have been read by many people.
She only remembered one font, which had the most annotations, and belonged to her father, Salazar.
Of course Catherine was very curious about her memory. Unfortunately, there were too many study rooms here. The fourteen study rooms seemed to be filled urgently. There were books on the bookcases, bookshelves, on the floor, on the table, and on the chairs.
It was made of paper, leather, or even carved on bones or bamboo slips. There were some words that neither she nor Haierbo could understand. There were only a few notes on them as notes. The handwriting belonged to Salazar and four or five other people, and was obviously related to her. The memory does not matter.
Catherine closed the book "Spell Guide 3" she had just read, which contained her notes, and looked up at the seemingly endless sea of books.
Only a little bit of the windows surrounded by books can be seen outside. The castle is supported by Haierbo's magic and all the lights are lit, but the world further away is still gray.
The inner courtyard of the castle could be seen clearly, and further away, beyond the masonry fence, there was only thick gray-yellow mist, shouting their ominousness.
Now she couldn't get close and asked Haierbo if she had ever gone out. Haierbo said yes, but how she got out could not be explained clearly.
"The master didn't bring Haierbo with him. The master went out by himself..." Haierbo's mouth can never stop. As long as there is nothing in his mouth, Catherine is not watching. Even if there is an order, it will habitually lift its tail after a moment. Pop it into your mouth.
Catherine forgot how many times she had rescued its tail from its mouth. She wanted to restore the missing section of Haierbo's tail, but as soon as she raised her wand, she knew that if she dared to do this, she would definitely lose it. It will be drained of magic power and die immediately.
"How dare I go out without you if you're like this?" she asked as she reached for the smoked fish.
The result was empty.
The large plate and five smoked fish brought to the study were eaten again.
Haierbo licked his lips and muttered: "Master, let Haierbo sleep by himself."
Catherine paused as she went downstairs and touched Haierbo's cool little head.
The little basilisk didn't feel aggrieved, and rubbed her fingers happily, as if there was only one word in his heart, eyes, and mouth besides her, "Hungry~"
Catherine sighed, "Wait a minute, I'm going to find you something to eat now."
As she unpetrified the smoked fish, Catherine thought about what was to come.
She naturally didn't like the feeling of being locked up. The gray and yellow fog outside was scary. She naturally knew this. Human instinct made her want to stay away. At the same time, it was also human instinct that told her that humans should not be locked up. , lose freedom.
Asking Salazar might have been a good idea, but she somehow knew that if she asked Salazar such a question, he wouldn't answer and would probably scold her.
At least she had to become stronger and better before she could be qualified to make demands on her father.
"Helpo, can I plant something in the courtyard?"
Haierbo raised his head from the pile of fish meat and blinked with black sesame eyes: "Haierbo needs to eat a little full before he can clean the owner's yard... um... um, a lot of smoked fish will do."
"Many, many...how many?" Catherine had an ominous premonition.
Haierbo swung his tail, thinking "Hmm", "Hmm", while not forgetting to take a bite of smoked fish, "The cellar we saw just now, there is a whole cellar of smoked fish."
Catherine was speechless for a moment.
There are many cellars for storing food under the castle. The smallest cellar is sixty square meters. The smoked fish is stored in this smaller cellar. It is neatly stuffed with fish. Catherine can't even count how many fish are in there... This is really a big project.
This big project took Catherine a month. She not only had to restore the smoked fish in a short time to ensure that they would not go bad, but also wanted Haier to eat them all at once, because if she only fed them regularly intermittently, Haier would There will be no brief feeling of fullness.
When the room full of smoked fish that had just been restored disappeared in an instant, Catherine clearly realized what "the castle is Herbo" means.
From the feeling point of view, Haierbo has never left her neck, but the pile of smoked fish did disappear in the blink of an eye.
The little basilisk flicked its tail and told Catherine the next second: "The garden is taken care of, Master."
What it calls good care is just removing the gray layer of lime-like stuff from the courtyard, revealing the color of the plants and the land itself.
That layer of things cannot be removed with Catherine's magic. It seems to be some kind of existence that blocks life, which makes Catherine feel very mysterious and beyond the scope of her understanding and control.
But under Helbo's operation, it had completely disappeared by the time Catherine went upstairs.
I tried digging the soil. The soil was soft and moist and looked quite fertile.
Catherine checked the entire courtyard. There were no trees in it, and the remaining plants were all inedible weeds.
Her magic power reserve has increased a lot in the past month. Her magic power seems to have no upper limit. As long as she continues to use magic, consumes it completely and then restores it, the upper limit can be increased every time.
In addition to taking care of Haierbo and herself on a daily basis, she spent the rest of the time reading in the study, and she only read a few books in a month.
The only good thing is that the number of spells she has mastered has increased a lot, which is basically enough for daily life.
Catherine stood up, took out her wand and pointed at the weeds: "Clear weeds!"
All the weeds in the courtyard were pulled out, the soil was shaken off, and they turned into dust and disappeared.
Catherine lowered her wand a little lower and pointed at the ground beneath her feet, "The soil is loose!"
The ground beneath my feet surged a few times and seemed to become softer.
She took out the seeds, roots and short branches that she had selected early on from the room, opened the package and pointed at them with her wand: "The seeds fly away!"
Seeds of different sizes floated out one after another and fell into the soil in different areas as she expected.
Then she pointed her wand at the faucet: "Here comes the water."
The faucet was turned open by magic, and the water seemed to be guided by invisible energy, flowing into the soil in the direction Catherine wanted.
"Huh..." Catherine threw aside the seed package in her hand, took a deep breath, and pointed the wand at a small area in front of her, "Plant, grow!"
The magic power in the body was drained out, and the tomatoes, potatoes and corn planted in the small field in front grew rapidly. They were just three plants. They had just grown to Catherine's knees and consumed all her magic power.
Catherine took a few breaths. Sure enough, the magic related to life consumes magic power.
But the current results are good. Her magic power can be restored slowly. If she doesn't continue to consume it, she can fully recover in a few hours.
Rubbing Haierbo's head, Catherine was rarely happy: "Maybe we can eat something new tomorrow and the day after tomorrow."
Haierbo didn't understand: "Aren't there also this and this in the cellar?"
The tip of its tail points to potatoes and corn.
If measured carefully, its tail is a little shorter than when Catherine woke up on the first day.
In the past few days, Catherine was occasionally engrossed in reading. She was very hungry after eating, and would secretly nibble her own tail. The scene was pitiful and terrifying.
"Sooner or later it will be used up if it can't get out," Catherine stroked the little fluff on its head, "and when they are ripe, Haierbo can come here to find food by himself when he is hungry."
Even if it is immature, when there is nothing in its mouth, it will chew plant stems and leaves first instead of chewing its own tail.
