Chapter 4 Basilisk Castle

There was a burning pain from the wand, but of course there was no scar. Catherine felt the familiar dizziness. It was the excessive loss of magic power that Salazar had said.

But thankfully, Haierbo's bleeding tail finally stopped bleeding.

The round lump was ugly, but she remembered that its tail was pointed, a very delicate and beautiful little cone.

Unfortunately, the happiness lasted only a few seconds. Haierbo spoke again in aggrieved tone, "Hungry..."

It withered to the ground and turned into a snake cake.

Catherine suddenly realized that Haierbo seemed to have become much smaller.

"Helpo, have you become smaller?"

"Well, because I'm hungry..."

She looked at the entire castle again and recalled the appearance of Haierbo at the beginning. She was horrified to find that most of Haierbo's body must have sunk into the ground just now!

The ground beneath her feet was obviously made of stone, but according to the proportions of Halpo's first body, its head and tail should not have appeared at the same time.

"A part of your body was underground just now?"

But now all the floors are smooth!

"The master just thought that Haierbo was too big and would destroy the castle..." Haierbo tilted his head and said doubtfully, "But this is Haierbo."

Catherine looked at Herbo, then at the restored floor, and said with difficulty: "This castle...is you?"

Haierbo nodded, and the gem on his forehead swayed. He was the only non-luminous being in his entire gleaming body.

Catherine vaguely thought that Herbo, the basilisk named after the first magician who cultivated a basilisk, was no ordinary basilisk.

But when she thought about the origin of Haierbo, she couldn't remember it at all.

All she knew was that Herbo was special and that the castle was closely connected to it and existed because of its existence.

This is a living castle!

"So are you calm now?" Salazar asked coldly.

Catherine lowered her eyes, subconsciously stroked the feathers on Haierbo's head, and whispered: "I don't understand, father, everything is happening now."

"You can slowly recall it later. If you don't go find something to eat, Haierbo will eat himself again, let alone whether you can continue to use magic."

It was rare for Salazar to speak such a long sentence, but unfortunately Catherine only noticed the meaning of his words.

Haierbo took advantage of her "daze" and secretly stuffed the tail into her mouth!

"Helpo, don't eat!" She shouted to stop, "Can you make yourself smaller? If you become smaller and the castle becomes smaller, can you consume less?"

Theoretically speaking, the bigger the stick, the more it consumes, just like she just used fluorescent flashes to light up the entire castle and drain her magic power, but as long as the tip of the stick is a little bit, she will have no problem at all.

Haierbo tilted his head and said vaguely: "Yes."

As it spoke, it continued to shrink, until it was as small as Catherine's arm.

"Are you still hungry now?" she asked.

Haierbo said dejectedly, "I'm not as hungry as before, but I'm still hungry..."

It slowly stood up and said, "The owner said Haierbo is very beautiful."

Catherine hugged it dumbfounded and said, "Wait until you find something to eat and then change back when you're full."

She looked at the empty castle again. She couldn't even see the top when she raised her head - it was because the light in this strange space itself was very dim, and it was also because the castle was too tall and too big!

Halbo flicked his tail, and Catherine only heard a sound like the ground was shaking. The space above her head and around her began to fold rapidly. The top of the castle, which was invisible at the beginning, began to drop continuously, and she could gradually see clearly.

Haierpo stopped after a moment. The castle seemed to be only three stories high, and the overall size had shrunk several times. It murmured lazily: "The master said he likes big ones..."

Catherine picked it up from the ground and kissed its cold head affectionately. "We will change back when we are all full. I think Haierbo is very cute now that it is small. I can hold you and go."

Haierbo's feathers trembled and rubbed Catherine's cheek.

Catherine felt that its mood was much better, and whispered: "Make it smaller, Haierbo. You can also wrap it around my neck like a necklace, or wrap it around my hand like a bracelet."

Haierbo fluttered his feathers and blinked his black eyes. He seemed to think this idea was a good one. He swung his tail happily and his body became thinner and smaller. Finally, it stopped at the thickness of Catherine's little finger and quickly ran to Catherine's neck. , surround yourself in a circle.

Catherine touched the cool basilisk necklace around her neck and reminded it in a low voice, "Don't eat yourself secretly. I'll go find something to eat."

Haierbo said "Uh-huh" twice, and it was unclear whether it was acting like a spoiled child or a trick to eat him. He eventually turned into a snake with its tail on the snake's body and the snake's head on Catherine's collarbone.

There is still a part of her father that coexists with her. Catherine does not think Salazar is rushing to kill her. Although she just said that there is no food in the castle, Catherine still wants to go to the kitchen to take a look.

If there isn’t one in the kitchen, you can only go to the courtyard to see if there are any edible plants…

The grass and trees in the courtyard were so dusty that it seemed impossible to enter.

The castle kitchen is usually on the first floor. When Catherine was brought down by Amy just now, she glanced at a place similar to the kitchen on the stairs. Halbo still kept it there after shrinking the castle.

"Are all the important places reserved?" Catherine asked Haierbo.

The shrunken basilisk grunted in response: "Yes, master."

So even though she lost her memory, Halpo and Salazar should know the inside story. Salazar didn't tell him directly, and Halpo didn't seem very smart...

Catherine vaguely knew that this little guy looked very big, but in fact he was still a baby in the group, and his brain was really not enough.

Her father was unreliable. Not only did Catherine vaguely know that her father only liked smart and outstanding people, everything that had just happened also made it difficult for her to get close to her father, and she could only rely on Haierbo.

Since it has been reduced, she still remembers to retain it... Catherine looked around at the dozen or so closed rooms on the third floor, as well as the closed basement, and some independent houses in the castle courtyard. There must be many clues that can be used.

When Catherine came to the kitchen, there was a faint light from Haierbo's body. She didn't even need the fluorescent flash, and she could basically see the details inside.

The stove and tableware were all available, and they looked like they had not been used, but they had not accumulated dust.

There was something like a sink with a pipe on it. She fumbled around for a while. It might have been a long time. Haierbo asked her: "Master, do you want to wash your hands?"

"Well..." Catherine said vaguely.

Haierbo told her very obediently: "Just twist it."

Catherine twisted it as she was told, and it turned out to be very silky smooth. The clear water rushed out from the small mouth, splashing water all over her body.

The Helbo hanging around her neck was not spared. The little fur was wet. It shook its head around Catherine's neck and opened its mouth wide to try to drink all the water that flew over.

Catherine quickly twisted it again, and the water flow was turned off after a few seconds.

Fortunately there was no wind in the castle, otherwise she would be very cold if she was half wet and blown by the wind.

"Master...Master..." Haierbo called her tenderly, "Wet, Haierbo has become wet!"

It kept shaking its head in discomfort, but it didn't want to rub the water on Catherine's clothes.

She is a wizard...

She is a wizard...

Magic is omnipotent...

Catherine picked up the wand with one hand and her soaked skirt with the other, licked her dry lips, and waved the wand: "Dry!"

An obvious surge of power flowed from her body to her arms and finally dissipated through the wand. The hem of her skirt became dry, just as it was at the beginning.

Haierbo tilted his head, as if he didn't understand Catherine's operation, "Is the master experimenting with new magic?"

Catherine asked it back: "What do you think?"

Halbo flicked the tip of its tail to make sure that Catherine was waiting for its reply, and whispered in a low voice: "The master has spent a lot of magic, but the effect is not very good. This spell does not seem to be as effective as 'cleaning up'."

Catherine recited the special pronunciation of Haierbo's "Clean up" silently several times, waved her wand again, and said to the operating table that had just been splashed with a lot of water: "Clean up."

This time the magic flowed more smoothly, and Catherine hardly felt any discomfort. The front part of the wand flashed with light, and the room with water stains everywhere was cleaned up, including her entire skirt.

"It's really useful." She smiled slightly and reached out to scratch Haierbo's chin.

Haierbo rubbed her fingertips lovingly, and the next sentence was the same moan: "Helbo is so hungry..."
