Chapter 177. Chapter 178. Divination Opens the First Customer

A few days passed quickly, and a new weekend came.

On Saturday, after the Quidditch match between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, Eddie couldn't wait to drag Scott into an empty classroom.

"Wait a minute."

Eddie whispered.

"The first guest is a Gryffindor student, Fred and George will bring him."

"They?" Scott was a little surprised, "But they just ended the game."

Eddie waved his hand indifferently, "It doesn't matter, Fred and George both said that their captain Wood's post-match summary will be stinky and long, and they won't participate!"

"I remember Roger saying the same thing about Bruce." Scott shrugged.

"Looks like all captains are the same." Eddie laughed.

It wasn't long before Fred and George walked into the room with a round-faced boy.

The two of them didn't even change their team uniforms, and they were soaked in sweat.

"You two are too anxious." Scott said helplessly.

"Of course, helping classmates is the most important thing!"

Fred said sternly.

He pulled out the boy hiding behind him and pushed his shoulder.

"This is Neville Longbottom, the second year of Gryffindor. He urgently needs your help to solve some problems."

"Hello, Trollope."

Neville gave Scott a timid look, and nodded following Fred's words.

"Just call me Scott, Neville."

Scott gave him a friendly smile, then looked back at the twins.

"You should know that arithmetic divination is not a panacea." He frowned, "To be honest, I may not be able to help this boy."

Hearing what he said, Neville's expression changed, and he looked like he was about to cry.

He turned to look at Fred for help.

"Oh, Scott, help!"

"For the sake of the two of us!"

Fred and George made decent requests.

They begged for a while before Scott nodded hesitantly.

"Okay, I promise to give it a try."

He looked at Neville apologetically.

"Sorry, I don't want to be too public. Besides, I'm also worried that my lack of ability will disappoint you."

"It's...it's okay."

said Neville, flushing.

"Thank you, S...Scott."

"Well, you need to relax a bit."

Scott said something softly to him, and waved to the other three.

"Go out, don't let anyone in."

"of course."

Eddie and the twins moved immediately.

They closed the classroom curtains, raised a magic lamp out of nowhere and placed it on the desk where Scott was sitting, then exited the classroom and closed the door.

Scott noticed that Neville was visibly relieved when they left.

"Sit down, Neville."

Scott said softly.

"I guess you probably don't want others to know about the problem you need to read, do you?"

"Thank you."

Neville nodded honestly, and sat obediently across from him.

"Then let's get started."

Scott looked at the parchment, quills, and inkwells that had been placed on the desk.

These seemed to be arranged by Eddie in advance.

Scott picked up the quill and looked at Neville.

"Tell me what you want to divination, Neville."

Neville looked up at him, then looked down again.

Scott didn't rush him, just waited patiently for him to speak.

After a long time, Neville said softly, "Parents."

"Parents, if you are familiar with them, then this is an easier target for divination." Scott said softly.

Then he heard Neville breathe a sigh of relief.

Scott continued: "What do you want to know about your parents? Location? Safety? Or something else."

"I..." Neville paused, looked up at Scott, "I want to know, will my parents recover?"

"Then we won't know until after divination." Scott said with a smile.

He had forgotten many details in the "Original Book". He only remembered that Neville's parents seemed to be in the hospital or something.

He had to ask Neville about these situations before he could use arithmetic divination.

"Have Fred and George told you that? If arithmetic divination is to be accurate, it needs as detailed known conditions as possible."

Scott spoke to Neville in the gentlest tone possible.

"You have to tell me about your parents."

"them……"

Neville's voice was hoarse.

He paused again, but managed to speak as smoothly as possible.

"My parents used to be Aurors. They were Frank Longbottom and Alice Longbottom. My grandmother said they were heroes."

"God... After the You-Know-Who fell, they were kidnapped by Death Eaters, and I was only 1 year old."

"The Death Eaters tortured them with the Cruciatus Curse, and they went mad and lived in St. Mungo's."

"Grandma sometimes takes me to see them, but they don't know me, and they don't know grandma..."

Neville talked about his parents intermittently.

He remembered what Scott said, need as many known conditions as possible, so he kept searching and writing some details from his mind.

"Mom gave me a gift of Blowing Super Bubblegum wrappers."

"Grandma told me to throw it in the trash, but I sneaked it into my pocket..."

Scott was a little surprised.

As far as he knew, Neville had a notoriously poor memory.

He usually has problems because he can't remember something, and makes a lot of jokes.

Many things have been heard even by him, a person of different grades in different colleges.

But he didn't expect that such a forgetful child could remember every bit about his parents clearly.

Hearing behind, Scott became more silent.

He suddenly felt that the first customer Eddie and the others found had not been chosen well.

He had heard clearly about Neville's parents.

Obviously, those two couples should have been members of the Order of the Phoenix.

In this case, it is impossible for Dumbledore, the leader of the Order of the Phoenix, to ignore them.

But they are still in the hospital now, not getting better.

What does this mean?
It shows that with Dumbledore's ability and connections, there is nothing he can do about the situation of the two of them.

What can Scott do in such a situation?

He also didn't think that his arithmetic divination could yield any good results.

Seeing Neville's honest appearance, he was really ashamed to take his money.

"What... what's wrong?"

Neville's question brought Scott back to his senses.

"Can't divination?"

He looked at him anxiously.

"I'll do my best," Scott said solemnly.

He decided to tell the truth, "I have to tell you, I can't guarantee whether the result can be calculated and what the result will be."

He looked Neville in the eyes and asked, "Are you okay with that?"

"I……"

Neville's fists were unconsciously clenched tightly.

"I can."

He whispered.
