#311 - A Certain Scientific Railgun

Even though the Parasite was curled up in the net, on the verge of death, Green Arrow still didn't dare to relax his grip on his bow and arrow. Superman had told him that the Parasite was a cunning enemy, and he couldn't let his guard down under any circumstances.

The Parasite didn't answer Green Arrow's question, only muttering weakly. Green Arrow and Speedy strained their ears to listen carefully before they understood what he was saying.

"Energy..." The Parasite's voice was hoarse, like a withered old man on the verge of death. It was hard to connect him at this moment with the lithe figure from before.

Speedy drew an arrow from his back and poked the Parasite on the ground with it, saying, "He's done for."

Green Arrow frowned and, seeing this, released the drawn bowstring. But at that moment, a sudden change occurred.

The instant Green Arrow relaxed, the Parasite's originally empty eyes turned vicious, and his thin body suddenly swelled, the net wrapped around him emitting a teeth-grinding creak before snapping open with a bang.

Green Arrow's eyes narrowed, and he drew his bowstring again, but this time he wasn't aiming at the Parasite, but at the ground near his own feet. The arrow exploded upon contact with the ground, releasing a cloud of thick smoke.

Without hesitation, Green Arrow tapped his toes on the ground, drew another arrow, turned, nocked, and shot it towards a building not far away. With the arrow shot, a sturdy rope connected the arrow and the bow, the arrowhead lodged in the building, pulling Green Arrow away at an extremely fast speed.

Green Arrow burst out of the smoke, his heart suddenly alarmed, because he realized that he was the only one who had come out. Speedy hadn't followed him out of the smoke. Green Arrow had personally trained Speedy, and knowing him as he did, Speedy would never stand there dumbly after he released the smoke arrow, unless he was in trouble.

With a whoosh, the smoke was blown away by a massive force. Green Arrow's heart sank. The originally thin Parasite had now turned into a giant strongman about two meters tall. His right hand was clutching Speedy's neck, and Speedy was struggling non-stop.

"Let... go of me!" Speedy grabbed the arrow he had used to test the Parasite and stabbed it repeatedly at the Parasite's grabbing hand, but to no avail. The ordinary arrowhead couldn't pierce the Parasite's skin.

The Parasite ignored Speedy, only looking at Green Arrow, who was aiming at him not far away, and shouted, "I advise you not to act rashly, Robin Hood, or I'll drain this little yellow hat's energy."

Green Arrow didn't speak, but he did relax the drawn bowstring. This wasn't because he was frightened by the Parasite's words, but because, if nothing unexpected happened, they were probably going to enter a long standoff, and Green Arrow was just an ordinary person. His stamina was limited and he couldn't withstand the drain of constantly drawing and aiming the bowstring.

"Not bad." The Parasite nodded slightly, obviously very satisfied with Green Arrow's actions. "Fortunately, your assistant let you relax your guard, otherwise I really wouldn't have found a chance to escape."

The Parasite's words pierced Speedy's heart like swords. Speedy's real name was Roy Harper. He was a young man with a strong sense of self-esteem. Although he respected his foster father Green Arrow, he always wanted to surpass him. So, facing the Parasite's words, he couldn't wait to shoot an arrow through the Parasite's mouth, so he couldn't speak anymore.

"It was my judgment that was wrong," Green Arrow had a different view in the face of the Parasite's accusation. "I didn't expect there to be so much energy in your body. The frequent attacks in Star City, the victims not only lost money, but also suffered from weakness. It seems that you are the mastermind behind this."

"That's right, I did it," the Parasite admitted generously. "When I first came to Star City, I was too weak. In order not to attract your attention, I had to disguise myself as an ordinary criminal, but I didn't expect you to find me anyway. It seems I absorbed too much, and you caught me."

After the Parasite finished speaking, he looked at Speedy in his hand. This kid was still restless even after being caught, hitting and kicking him, and constantly stabbing him with the arrowhead. It seemed he needed to teach him a lesson, to let him know what a hostage should be like.

"Ugh, ah, ah!" Speedy screamed. He felt the energy in his body was constantly draining, and the Parasite was enjoying absorbing the pure life energy.

Green Arrow frowned. Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of something in the corner of his eye and resolutely shot the arrow in his hand, ignoring the Parasite's previous warning.

The arrow split the air and flew straight towards the Parasite. The Parasite grinned, having just replenished his energy, he didn't care about this level of attack, and stretched out his left hand to grab the incoming arrow.

"Bang!" "Ah!"

After a muffled sound, there was a scream. The Parasite covered his right arm, and Speedy fell powerlessly to the ground. Green Arrow's arrow was stuck in the Parasite's shoulder.

But this wasn't the reason he let go. The real culprit was the bowling ball rolling on the ground. This bowling ball hit his joint with great force, the great pain caused him to lose control of his palm, and he had to release his right hand.

Before the Parasite could figure out who had hit him with the bowling ball, thin white electric currents surged from Speedy's fallen body, and Speedy flew backwards at an extremely fast speed.

The Parasite looked in the direction Speedy flew, only to see a strongman whose physique was no less than his own, and whose appearance was no less terrifying, catching him with an arm thicker than Speedy's waist.

The strongman wore leather pants and boots on his lower body, his bare upper body was covered with several bolts stuck into his body, and two towering Tesla towers rose from his back, with electric currents constantly flowing between them, looking just like Frankenstein's monster.

"Who are you?" The Parasite released his right arm and pulled out the arrow from his shoulder. He glared fiercely at the Frankenstein, because he had to use the energy he had finally absorbed to heal himself.

"You can call me Electromagnetic Man." Yang Le grinned, and dense electric currents flowed between his palms. A manhole cover not far away was attracted to him.

This was one of Electromagnetic Man's powers. Electromagnetism is inseparable. Electromagnetic Man, who can control electricity, can also control magnetism. He had pulled Speedy over earlier using the metal arrows on his body.

The manhole cover floated in Yang Le's palm. As Yang Le controlled the magnetism, the manhole cover began to spin rapidly, and electric currents surged from it. The manhole cover, which was originally everywhere, instantly turned into an unignorable weapon.

"I advise you to get out of the way." As soon as he finished speaking, the large cannonball in Yang Le's hand slammed towards the Parasite.
