"It's better than raw hooves, I guess." I glanced at the hole in her shoe.

Tonks snorted.

"Okay, to reduce the possibility of drinking your coffee again." She pushed the cup away a little. "Jessie and I chatted for a while the last time we were on a mission together." Powerful people', were her words."

Not sure if I should laugh or something, I took a sip of my coffee to find something to do for myself - and didn't spit it out of sheer pride.

"Powerful," I mutter, pushing the glass back a bit as well, no doubt seeing Tonks' titter.

"Of course, you've been in that place for 12 years and you're still sane—sorry." She subconsciously stopped talking, but she didn't seem guilty. "I totally agree with Jesse anyway."

"Thanks." I coughed, "But you still didn't tell me what's wrong with Jace's name."

"Oh, actually," said Tonks, "her real name is Christine Elizabeth Edwards."

"I don't understand," I said.

"Me too," admitted Tonks. "After graduation she used the name Jessica, her mother's English name, when she was looking for a job or renting a house. She insisted that her real name sounded exactly like A ritual offering. But it might have something to do with her penchant for incognito as well, who knows."

"It's not as easy to understand as Nymphadora, right?" I laughed. "A gift from a fairy?"

"Apparently not as good as 'Black'," she said angrily.

I just shrugged.Although not as exaggerated as Tonks, it's no secret that I hate my last name since I was a student.God knows how hard it took me not to meet my "companions" in the face with my fist when they called me "Blake" one by one with obvious malice.

It doesn't make me angry to think about the old days, those guys are pretty much dead after all. When they gave their lives for the peace of the wizarding world, I did atone for the heinous crime behind bars as they expected. I don’t know why this thought makes me want to laugh.

"We agreed on the name when we met for the first time, and I have to say that she is the best of them all." Tonks glanced at me dissatisfied.

This stare has almost zero lethality on me, but she reminded me of one thing.

"Jess said that she and you met in a bathroom one morning, what were you doing at that time?"

"Oh, that." Tonks was a little embarrassed, "I was crying."

"Say it again?" I raised my eyebrows, and she gave me a snarky look.

"You know, I'm a Transfiguration Magus, which is rare. When I first entered school, I couldn't control my abilities, and I could hardly keep the same appearance for more than an hour. Plus my stupid name..." Tonks sighed heavily. "The other kids called me 'Nifah the Crooked' and made fun of my messy hair and nose. The most unbearable of them all was Catherine, one of my roommates. That night I was again After laughing at her, I didn't want to go back to the dormitory to endure her humiliation, so I hid in the bathroom."

"Really bad."

"It's really nothing when I think about it now, but at the time... But anyway, I got to know Jesse because of it, and it's a good thing for me in general." Tonks shook his head and laughed again. "Life is really amazing, isn't it? If it weren't for those guys who turned my life into hell, Jesse and I are in different colleges, and there is a difference of 4 levels, and I probably would never have the chance to be friends."

"Not necessarily, she's been working with Aurors all this time," I pointed out.

"That's very different from making friends, most of them don't even know the name 'Jessica'. She takes on a new identity everywhere she goes, more than I can remember— That's probably why she doesn't contact me often." Tonks shrugged, "She doesn't go to parties, she doesn't have much hobbies, and her boyfriends can't last long." She showed a frustrated expression, "Seriously, so For years I wasn't even sure if she considered me a friend."

Somewhere inside of me was a weird feeling, and I ignored it.

"At least you call her Jessie."

"Probably. It's a major breakthrough." Tonks let himself slump back in his chair. "She won't be happy with what I told you today, but you're the first person I've ever seen who can make her The person who smiles so happily. If you continue to give up on yourself like this, I deserve to drink the coffee you make every day."

"Well, it's not that bad."

To prove my point, I drank my coffee in one gulp.In fact, there is no need to drink like this, I choked immediately.I could bear it, but Tonks reached out and slapped me hard on the back a few times and knocked over her cup, so her coffee splashed in my face and mine sprayed all over her.

Ignoring her apology, I popped three sugar cubes into my mouth quickly, taking the opportunity to clean myself by the sink.

"Sirius, Tonks!" Molly stood at the kitchen door with a half bucket of dead foxes and looked at us in amazement, "What are you doing?"

"Oh," I tried to swallow the sugar in my mouth, "I made some coffee for Tonks, and we... accidentally knocked it over."

Molly glanced at Tonks, nodded understandingly and began to clean up the mess in the kitchen, her hands were as sharp as usual, and so was her mouth.

"You should have called me directly, I was upstairs in the third room on the right hand side. That used to be your mother's room, right? The closet and the curtains were full of vixen, it was horrible, I couldn't believe it There's an elf in the house. And it looks like there's a lot of vixen in the drapes in the drawing room and other rooms. I think I'll send Arthur to get some quick potions of that kind Gilderoy Lockhart mentioned, It's too troublesome and dirty to kill them one by one. I guessed that you would be here when I found out that you were not in the attic just now, do you think Buckbeak will eat...?"

"I'll try," I said firmly, grabbing the bucket and sprinting out of the kitchen, almost tripping over Kreacher. "Go away!"

Changing Buckbeak's menu wasn't exciting, but Kreacher's swearing as we walked upstairs with something he was sure he wouldn't eat didn't spoil my mood at all.
