[HP] Don't talk to me

Chapter 4 Cracks

After drinking and eating, we moved directly back to Hogwarts by the fireplace.Led by Snape, the place where they got out turned out to be the principal's office.

It's been a long time since I went back to this castle.

I still remember the last time I was fired by Snape here.At that time, Voldemort was still there, Hogwarts was ruled by Death Eaters, Snape had already become the headmaster, and he sat gloomy in his office chair, making such an inexplicable decision without even looking up at me .

Ever since Snape moved in, the headmaster's office has become less and less the warm atmosphere created by Dumbledore back then. It has become dark and has a Slytherin accent... What an aesthetic flaw!Scanning it carefully now, I found that it was even worse: the curtains and tablecloths were replaced with dark green, and most of the decorations on the walls were gone. The bookshelves were neatly arranged with Snape's potions books, and there was a dark green leather chair under the bookshelves! There is a portrait of Dumbledore among the portraits of the past principals on the wall, but there is no one there. I wonder if the old man is too angry to come back here.

I looked around, and finally turned my head to Snape. "Did you move up from downstairs?"

"No, I still live below." Snape said, "This is where I do my daily work."

"Then why did you make it look like it was redecorated?" I rolled my eyes at him, "It wasn't this horrible a few months ago."

"What is horrible? I have a little spare time recently, so I arranged it." Snape saw me so serious about the arrangement here, and for some reason, he curled his mouth happily.

"The old straight man's taste, really! This place is not as good as Spider's End!" I sighed.

Snape narrowed his eyes and said, "Why, do you want to live in Spider's End? That's fine too."

Listening to Snape and me arguing again and again made it hard for Andrew and the others. No matter how angry I was, I had no choice but to decide that women would not fight with men, leave him alone, and drag Millie and Martha out to the campus.

Today happened to be a weekend, and there were not many people in the school.I took them to visit the classrooms one by one. Along the way, although some students pointed at me or greeted me in surprise, and shouted: "Professor Effie!" But no one dared to come forward, because Snape has never been close. Those who followed from a distance looked at each other coldly.

After a fierce battle, Hogwarts was hit hard.I have also seen reports in the newspapers about the reconstruction process of Hogwarts.Although after returning this time, it can be found that the school has basically returned to its original appearance before the war, but careful observation can still find some traces of trauma caused by the battle, perhaps caused by some irreversible damage spells.

There are really a lot of memories here. As we walk, we seem to go back to that night. Everything we did in this castle seems to emerge as soon as we close our eyes.

Millie seems to like Hogwarts very much, and she will soon be of school age, and Andrew expresses his willingness to send Millie here to study.I happily promised him that if Millie got into Hogwarts, I would do my best to take care of her.

I walked a long way with the mother and daughter, and then visited Hagrid again.I really haven't walked such a long way in the hospital.I walked on crutches to the place where I could see Hagrid's hut, but I couldn't walk anymore, so I sat down on a big rock by the lake, and asked Andrew to accompany Millie and Martha to see Hagrid.

Hogwarts has just entered the early spring, and the lake is a very comfortable place. Although I can't smell the smell, I can see the flowers and plants growing quietly. There is a small white flower that I like the most, with four-petal leaves and light yellow stamens. I don’t do botanical research, so I don’t know what kind of flower it is. I just need to appreciate its beauty.

Snape sat down next to me, and I alerted myself and moved quietly.

"Are you... planning to stay in that room next to the cellar?" Snape changed his ambiguity when he quarreled with me just now, and his voice became very peaceful.

"Can you move away?"

"Where do you want to move, I will arrange it."

"Just over there, where is there such a free place." I said.

Although the light in that room was a bit poor, the windows were a bit small, and the humidity was a bit heavy, the location was excellent—so that no one would notice.

"It's too far from the medical wing, Madam Pomfrey will find it difficult to take care of you."

"I've been discharged from the hospital, and I still need someone to take care of me? You don't have to think of me as fragile, I'm very strong."

Snape was silent for a while, and seeing me staring at the flowers by the water, he said softly, "You still can't smell anything?"

"Aren't you asking knowingly?" I said. "You know my situation very well."

"But I'm a little scared. I'm afraid you're hiding something important from me."

My heart is tight.

"It's right to keep it from you." I ignored Snape's angry grin, and continued, "What do I have to do with you? Do I have to tell you everything?"

Snape said dejectedly: "Can you stop arguing with me just by saying a few words? Tata..." He looked at me with tenderness in his eyes.

I lowered my eyes and refused to meet his gaze. "Don't bark, I didn't allow you to call me by my name! Please call me Professor Efa in the future. We are equal colleagues."

"Alright, alright, Ta...Effa, are you...are you planning to torture me like this for the rest of your life?" Snape's voice became more and more panicked. "You must think so, don't you? Answer me!"

I don't have the heart to answer his questions anymore, I have already talked too much with him today without knowing it.I once swore never to speak a word to him again, but since the second I made the vow, I have been breaking the vow, no wonder I am always unlucky everywhere.

I took out a cigarette from my clothes pocket, put it in my mouth, and suddenly remembered that I hadn't got my wand back, and I couldn't even use a lighting spell.

While I was in a daze, Snape actually reached out and snatched the cigarette from my mouth, and threw it into the lake. The smoke quickly fell to the bottom of the water without a trace.

"Are you really crazy? You still want to smoke when you're not in good health?" Snape's brows were almost furrowed, "And it's this kind of Muggle nicotine?"

I gave him a blank look, but still didn't speak, but stopped in disappointment.

When Millie walked back with her father in one hand and her mother in the other, I thought it was beautiful.Andrew and Martha looked at their daughter with doting smiles on their faces.Millie is like a little angel, bouncing around with her long blond hair.

I'm 27, the same age as Andrew.I seem to have nothing. I have struggled for so many years, but I just rushed to nothing.I'm still alone, what's the difference from when I first left Scandinavia?

Maybe an extra injury is the biggest difference.

It was getting late, we walked quickly back to the castle, had a simple dinner in the dining room, met Professor McGonagall and chatted kindly for a long time. After dinner, Snape called Filch to take the Andrew family to arrange accommodation.Millie's interest remains unabated, and she plans to go to the nearby Hogsmeade village tomorrow, and I agree to go to Honeydukes with her to buy candy.

Reluctantly parting from the Andrew family for a while, Snape and I walked to the cellar, walked through a dark alley, and finally arrived at the door of our room.

I haven't been back here for more than half a year, and everything seems to have not changed.I lost my keys and had to watch Snape open the door and go in first to light a candle.

"Rest tonight," said Snape. "I'll call you later in the morning. If you want, I'll have the elf bring breakfast to your room."

"Wow, that's a good deal." I looked around the room and found that it was not as dusty as I thought, but it was obviously cleaned meticulously, and everything was clean and tidy. "I thought I came back to be a coolie."

"Professor T...Effa," Snape said quietly, "I'm really glad that you're back, I'm... really happy."

I pursed my lips, put the crutches on the side of the bed, sat down on my own bed, and looked up at him. "Good night."

"Good night." Snape seemed to sigh softly, and seemed to have no expression, and turned away.

After Snape left, I hid the bag of scorpion stones in my pocket, washed up and went to sleep with my clothes on, and I had a good night's sleep.

The next day, I was woken up by an elf who had the impertinence to bring in a plate.Seeing me sitting up from the bed, that poor little guy was quite frightened, and he hesitated for a long time before saying, "Good morning, professor... the principal asked me to bring you... breakfast." .”

I nodded, smoothed my messy hair, and said softly, "Thank you."

There was also a house key on the dinner plate, probably Snape asked it to be brought. The elf put the plate on my desk and ran away.I got up, had a quick breakfast, and headed out the door right away.

Unexpectedly, when I opened the door, Snape was standing outside the door. This time the person who was frightened was replaced by me, and I took two steps back.

He raised his eyebrows, probably puzzled by my look.

"Did you run to the door of my room early in the morning to pretend to be a ghost?" I covered my chest. "Scared me!"

"Andrew and the others are waiting for you in the Ravenclaw lounge." Snape said blankly, "Let's go."

I kept repeating that I didn't need him for company, but Snape followed us all the way to Hogsmeade with a stern face.

We walked to Hogsmeade.

I was very tired yesterday, but I had a good night's rest, so I'm in a good state of mind today. But after all, I was just discharged from the hospital, and my physical strength was really not good enough. The Andrew family walked in front, and I moved slowly behind. I felt a slight pain in my right shoulder when I was on crutches.

"Do you need me to help you?" Snape quickly walked up from behind, and asked softly next to my ear, "You've been too tired these two days."

I felt my ears tickle by his snort, and shook my head.

He didn't seem to realize my refusal, and a hand stretched out straight to wrap around my left arm.

"Why didn't you listen to Mendel? He said he could find you a good prosthesis." Snape's voice trembled a little.

I gave him a blank look, but when I looked at him, I found a trace of melancholy flashing in his eyes, and I swallowed back the words I wanted to say.

"...I don't want to add anything to my body for no reason. I am what I am." I said, "I think it's fine now."

We were silent, and we didn't speak again until we got into Hogsmeade.
