Chapter 47 Mission
As soon as the meeting ended, Esther hurriedly left the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix and apparated to Magnolia Road. She couldn't believe that her aunt would really turn her away.
She walked along the street repeatedly two or three times, but she did not see Aunt Connie's house. She sat weakly on the side of the road looking at the empty grass in a daze. She knew there was supposed to be a house there that had been her home.
Esther waited from night to day, and from day to night. The month-long follow-up mission made her very patient. But Aunt Connie seemed to be more persistent than her, and never came out of the room to see her.
Finally, when night fell again, she gave up waiting and went back to her guest room at the Leaky Cauldron. She took out the resurrection stone and turned it around three times, and Wen Tina appeared in front of her.
"Cry out when you feel uncomfortable, child, don't hold back." Wen Tina said distressedly.
Est just shook his head.
"If you regret it, just quit. Aunt Connie will accept you again, just like she accepted me back then."
Esther stroked the resurrection stone without any response.
"Or leave here, all of them have nothing to do with you."
"Is it right for me to join the Order of the Phoenix?" Esther asked suddenly.
"There's no right or wrong, Essie. If you choose to hide with Aunt Connie, you'll suffer just the same. Unless you don't care about them anymore."
"I also care about my aunt." Esther tried to open her eyes, not wanting tears to fall from her eyes.
"She did this to let you have no worries."
"But I miss her."
"It will be fine, child, just sleep for a while, it will be fine after a while." Wen Tina comforted her.
In the evening two days later, Esther returned to the familiar Mulan Crescent Street as agreed.Seeing no one around, she quickly walked across the street and came to Mrs. Figg's house.
Dong dong dong, she knocked lightly on the door a few times. The door was opened by Moody, who asked gruffly, "What's your Animagus form?"
"Bat." Esther replied in a low voice.
Moody turned sideways to let Est go in, looked around again, and closed the door after making sure no one was following him.
Sirius, Lupine, Tonks, Emmeline and Mrs. Figg were chatting in the room.Seeing Esther coming in, Mrs. Figg brought her a cup of black tea.Kick and Maomao circled her feet affectionately. She also sat down at the table and let Kicks jump on top of her, scratching her chin lightly.
It was getting dark, and Dige and Dorje also arrived.Kingsley Shacklebolt soon brought news that the Dursleys had left.Moody beckoned everyone to follow him to Privet Drive to start the evening's work.
Esther entered Aunt Harry's house for the first time. Although she was often scolded at the door before, she never entered.I have to say that she is indeed a qualified hostess, and the room is impossibly clean.
"Where is he?" Tonks asked.
"I remember his bedroom was the backmost one on the second floor," said Esther.
"Then don't waste time, Esther, you lead the way," Moody said.
Esther climbed up the stairs in the dark, walked to the innermost part, drew out her wand and pointed at the door. There was a click and the lock opened.
Everyone looked in the door, Harry was pointing at the door with his wand raised warily.
"Esther? Professor Moody?" Harry said in surprise. "Why are you here?"
"Of course I'm here to save you." Moody said gruffly. "Go downstairs first, Esther, Tonks, help him clean up."
Esther and Tonks were in charge of one side, waving their wands lightly to make clothes, socks, textbooks, and parchment jump into the box by themselves.
"Esther, aren't you preparing for the therapist exam in London? Why are you with Professor Moody and the others? And Grandma Connie is missing, do you know?" Harry asked looking at the jumping objects.
"It's a long story, Harry, it won't be convenient until we get back," Esther replied.
"Is there anyone left?" Tonks looked around, "Go down quickly, there are still many people waiting to see you."
Down the stairs, Harry saw Sirius pounce on him.
"Sirius, Professor Lupine, you are here too." Harry hugged them one by one.
"Of course we will come to pick you up in person." Sirius rubbed Harry's head.
"Don't rush to hug, are you sure he is the real Potter? If you bring back a Death Eater pretending to be him, you will be in trouble." Professor Moody roared loudly.
"My godson can still admit his mistakes?" Sirius raised his voice.
"Mad-Eye is right, Sirius. What is your Patronus, Harry?" asked Professor Lupine.
"A stag," Harry replied nervously.
"Yes, that's him," Lupine assured Moody.
"Very well, it's him. We'll be off at the signal," cried Professor Moody. "Is there any water? I need to wash this eye, it's been stuck ever since that scumbag took it. "
"The kitchen seems to be over there." Tonks enthusiastically helped, but he knocked something down and made a loud crash.
"Keep your voice down, Tonks, don't be messy all the time," Moody complained.
"Where are we going?" Harry interrupted eagerly.
"Let's go to the headquarters, Harry, don't ask here, you'll know when we get there," Lupine said cautiously.
Harry looked angry for a moment, and a strange light flashed in his eyes.
"Are you okay, Harry?" Esther asked cautiously. She sensed that something was wrong with Harry, but couldn't tell.
"Yeah." Harry responded softly.
Lupine introduced to Harry one by one the guards tonight.Esther watched Harry's reaction secretly, and the feeling just now disappeared, as if it was her illusion.
Moody cast the Disillusionment Charm on Harry after washing the magic eye, and led everyone out of the room to prepare. "Keep the formation as we agreed. If someone is killed, the people behind will fill in. If we are all killed, Potter, remember to keep flying east, and follow-up guards will come to meet you. said Moody.
"Is that possible?" Harry asked worriedly.
"No one will be killed," Kingsley said in a calm and thick voice.
"I'm just telling you the plan, get on your broomsticks now," Moody told everyone.
A red firework exploded in the sky.
"This is the first signal, get ready."
A green firework also exploded in the air.
"Let's go!" Moody ordered.
Tonks flew first, Harry followed, Lupine below him, Sirius behind him, Moody on the left, Esther on the right. The rest surrounded them tightly, flying high into the sky like a huge bird.
Everyone kept changing directions according to Moody's orders.Flying at high altitude was very cold, and soon Esther was completely frozen. She remembered training in the snow and ice as a Seeker, as if it hadn't been long ago.
If someone came to attack at this time, he might not even be able to draw out his wand, Esther muttered to himself.Fortunately, Moody was just suspicious along the way, and there was no real battle.
Finally Tonks began to lead the descent, and Esther and Harry kept their distance and followed.A few minutes later, Esther stepped on the turf and finally returned to the ground.
Everyone drew out their wands and surrounded Harry, guarding against possible attacks at any time. But nothing happened, and they entered 12 Grimmauld Place without incident.
Mrs. Weasley greeted Harry warmly, hugged Harry, and told everyone that the meeting had begun.Moody walked into the conference room to tell Dumbledore that the mission was successfully completed.Esther suddenly felt a gaze fall on him.She looked up vigilantly, and found that Snape's dark eyes were staring at her intently.Seeing Esther's gaze, Snape quickly looked away as if nothing had happened. Is he worried about me?As Esther thought to herself, the feeling of being frozen on her body was gradually fading away.
After everyone was seated, Snape read a report on Voldemort's movements. The Death Eaters were redeployed, Voldemort was obsessed with the Department of Mysteries, and Lucius planted the Death Eaters' forces in the Ministry of Magic through Forge, ready to sneak in at any time.
Regarding the Department of Mysteries, Mr. Weasley was given some construction drawings of the Department of Mysteries.Podmore also explained the purpose of the twelve rooms in the Department of Mysteries.
Dumbledore redeployed the Order of the Phoenix in a targeted manner.People who work at the Ministry of Magic are assigned to patrol the outside of the Department of Mysteries to make sure Death Eaters don't get in, especially at night when Ministry security is thin.Lupine was arranged to be close to the werewolf community, trying to delay the time for the werewolf leader Fenrir Greyback to join Voldemort. The job of tracking the Death Eaters falls mainly to Professor McGonagall and Esther, who are Animagus.
After the meeting, Dumbledore left Grimmauld Place first.Esther was about to go upstairs to see Harry's situation, Snape stopped Esther, "Collins, come with me, Dumbledore has a new task for you."
Esther froze for a moment, nodded and followed Snape to leave the Order of the Phoenix headquarters.
Esther thought that he would take him to Apparate back to Spider's End, but when he came out of the twisted pipe, he saw the sign of the Leaky Cauldron in front of him.
Snape put on the hood, cast a spell on himself to disguise himself a little, and said to Esther, "Go to your room and talk."
Esther was a little confused, but complied.Entering the room, Snape waved his wand and chanted a long list of incantations, placing a protective layer around the room.
Just after setting up the defensive spell, Snape's stern voice sounded, "Your awareness of defense is too poor! Living in such a chaotic place, you only use the simplest warning spell! I thought you would be better than others. People are smarter. Fortunately, the Dark Lord didn't find someone to catch you before, otherwise you would be a dead man!"
"I'm sorry, Professor." Esther lowered his head and listened to Snape's reprimand like he did in school, appearing extremely obedient.
"Apologizing won't save your life! Remember the spell I just used, don't let me see you being swallowed by Nagini as a snack!" Snape didn't let her go because of Esther's attitude.
After a while, Snape calmed down, and said in a business-like tone: "In view of the lack of members of the Order of the Phoenix and the cancellation of the original tracking plan, I will tell you the valuable targets and adjust the tracking targets at any time."
"Understood, Professor." Esther, who had just been reprimanded, hadn't stepped out of the student's role, and was still listening to Snape obediently.
"You have no doubts?" Snape asked softly.
Esther shook her head blankly.
There was an angry expression on Snape's face, "Don't you wonder why I told you this instead of Dumbledore? Why did you tell you alone and not inform others? In case this is a trap, Collins, have you thought about the consequences? ?Didn't you see how I can deceive people? You saw me with the Dark Lord, didn't you? I'm a Death Eater, remember? Why can't you be a little bit more defensive?"
"I--forgot..." Esther was telling the truth, she had been thinking about Harry, the Dementor and Aunt Connie in her mind these days, and she had long forgotten Snape's other appearance.
Snape sneered at her words, "I really doubt whether the job of tracking is suitable for you, Esther. You said a few days ago that you saw my wonderful performance, and you forgot it so quickly."
"It may be that your previous appearance has been deeply ingrained in my heart. I really can't treat you as a Death Eater. I was just impulsive that day. In fact, I knew that your behavior was just to protect yourself. Otherwise, the Dark Lord would not be so easy to deceive. "Esther explained with recognition.
Snape frowned and looked at Esther not knowing what he was thinking.Esther was a little nervous, and couldn't help but turned to look at the messy pile of books on the table.
After a while, Snape said again, "In addition, Dumbledore also gave you a task to let you transform and follow me to visit the homes of several Death Eaters. He didn't say what he was going to do, he just said he would take you Just go."
Esther understood after a little thought.Dumbledore was trying to use her sentience to search the Death Eaters' house.Harry said that the diary was given to the little Weasley girl by Lucius Malfossy.Maybe other Death Eaters will have some special collections too.
"When are you going?" Est asked immediately after thinking about it.
"You need to be prepared. Those ancient mansions are not bars or hotels. You can enter if you want. Are you sure you know what you are going for? Don't make the trip in vain." Snape asked, staring at her.
"Probably asked me to find something like a crown." Esther said, "The diary used to open the chamber of secrets was taken out by Lucius Malfoy. Maybe other Death Eaters have it too. You have received similar things Is it?" Esther suddenly remembered and asked.
"No." Snape mused.
"It's a pity, but it's okay, it's not a good thing." Esther smiled relaxedly, "And I'm afraid it will be bad luck if you don't keep it properly. How is Lucius Malfoy recently?"
"No wonder..." Snape suddenly understood something.
Esther waited quietly for Snape to speak, but he told her nothing.
Before leaving, Snape checked Esther's room and asked her to wait for news from him.He put on the hood and briefly disguised himself, then left in a hurry.
In the next few days, Esther was run around under the command of Snape. And she hasn't been to many places, so she can't apparate.Fortunately, turning into a bat and flying over is fairly fast, but it consumes too much energy. This made her eat all the time when she returned to human form.
The day before the therapist exam, Esther finally got half a day to spare to sort out the key points of the exam. She spent too little time reviewing. Fortunately, she remembered what she had learned before, and there were not many knowledge points that required special memory. She watched the dinner time all the time, while chewing the leftover sandwiches at noon, while reciting the diagnosis norms and treatment principles of dragon pox.
There was a knock on the door, and Esther opened the door vigilantly with her wand.It was Snape who entered, and Esther breathed a sigh of relief.
"You put down your wand without being sure of my identity?" Snape said, frowning.
"Okay, what's your Patronus?" Esther asked kindly.
"You should ask something you're sure of." Snape's frown deepened.
"If you were a Death Eater in disguise, how do you know that I don't know." Esther shrugged and said indifferently.
Snape glared at the sophistry little girl, "I hope you didn't use all your brains for words. I went to Malfoy's house with me today, and he invited me to be a guest. This is an opportunity."
"Do you think there will be a second one hidden in his house?" Esther asked puzzled.
"Just in case," Snape said succinctly.
"Okay, professor." Esther put down the "Guidelines for the Treatment of Infectious Diseases" and tidied himself up briefly.
"You can pass tomorrow unless a miracle happens." Snape looked at the pile of books on the table and curled his lips. "This is the price of joining the Order of the Phoenix."
"Let's make a bet, if a miracle really happens, do you want to reward me?" Esther blinked at Snape.
Snape ignored her.
Esther snorted dissatisfied, and cast a spell to turn into a bat and land on Snape's shoulder.
Snape grabbed her, pocketed her, and left the Leaky Cauldron.
At Malfoy's house, Snape was warmly received. This made Esther extremely irritable, she couldn't hear the Horcrux in a noisy environment. She wanted to poke her head out to take a look, but Snape pushed her back with his hand as soon as she moved. She nestled in her pocket helplessly, and yawned as Draco went out of her way to compliment Snape.
The Malfoy family wooed Snape not only because Voldemort held him in high esteem, but also because he was the Headmaster of Slytherin, and Draco was in fifth grade this year, which was the age to be elected as a prefect.
At the dinner table, Draco offered to pour Snape a glass of red wine, and said flatteringly, "Professor, you have always been the person I admire the most."
Lucius took the words, "Thanks to you for taking care of Draco these years, Severus."
Snape showed his rare tact, casually sipped the red wine, and responded to Lucius, "You also took good care of me back then. Besides, Draco is very smart and has great prestige among his classmates. I believe he will be a great leader in the future. A fine wizard."
"But Potter's accusation... I'm worried that Draco will be treated unfairly at school." Lucius said insinuatingly.
"We all know that Dumbledore won't do anything to children. In this regard, he is stupid to make people laugh." Snape snorted coldly, swirling the red wine in his glass.
"It would be a shame if Potter got the prefect badge and I didn't." Draco was far less composed than his father.
"I'm sure you'll get it soon, when he has to make me Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. And as far as I know, Gryffindor's prefect this year is not Potter, he's as useless as his Father." Snape sneered.
"Professor, you are absolutely right. He has nothing but the fame he got from his dead parents. I hope he can be expelled in court tomorrow." Draco said angrily.
Esther moved uncomfortably in his pocket.
"Okay, Draco, it's getting late, you should go back to your room and rest." Lucius said in a long voice.
Reluctantly, Draco got up and left the table, and his mother, Narcissa, also got up to leave and walked away with her son.
"Tomorrow's trial will not go well. Dumbledore will never let Potter be expelled. You have to be prepared, Lucius." Snape said in a low voice.
"I know. I will go to the Ministry of Magic in person tomorrow. Even if Potter's matter fails, I can ensure that the Dark Lord's anger will not be implicated in me." Lucius took a sip of red wine and looked at the glass absently. Red liquid sloshing in.
Snape and Lucius talked until late at night before getting up to leave. As soon as he left the range of Malfoy Manor, Esther poked his head out impatiently.
"Wait a little longer, there is another place to go." Snape touched Esther's furry head and nodded lightly.
Snape used the Disappearance Charm to hide himself, then Apparated to a place Esther had never been before. The house looked deserted for some time, with a thick layer of dust.Snape drew his wand, opened the door carefully, and walked in warily.
Esther got out of Snape's pocket and fell to the ground to become human again. She looked around, "Where is this?"
"Crouch's house," Snape said.
"Are we trespassing?" Esther joked.
"Look for it quickly, don't talk nonsense," Snape said bluntly.
Esther felt it carefully, and whispered Voldemort's name again.
"Would you please stop calling the Dark Lord by his first name at this point," Snape said angrily.
"Sorry, professor, this is a test. But it's not, it's too quiet. And next time it's just outside the door, you don't have to open the door." Esther spread her hands.
Snape gave her a hard look, "Why didn't you say it earlier."
"You didn't ask." Esther said innocently.
Snape led her out and locked the door, saying, "Let's stop here today, and go back for your exam tomorrow."
"I want to go and see Harry, is he going to court tomorrow?" Esther asked.
"Take care of yourself, Miss Collins. You don't need to worry about him. There are plenty of people who care about him." Snape looked displeased.
"I won't delay my business, and don't forget that if I pass the exam tomorrow, you have to reward me. Good night, Professor." Esther smiled mischievously, and Apparated away.

Harry looked angry for a moment, and a strange light flashed in his eyes.
