Chapter 12 012 About Flying

In the morning after the dance, Mary woke up hungry. She hadn't eaten much the day before, and after dancing so much, she must be hungry.

The whole Stillwater Manor was quiet, and Mary thought she had to go to the kitchen to find something to eat, so she ran into the house-elf Boram in the corridor.

"You're an early riser, Miss Bennet," said he, "and I'll bring you breakfast after I've delivered this to Mr. Knight."

He trotted while talking, ran out for a few steps, and then turned back, "What would you like to eat?"

Mary didn't ask for anything special, she just asked, "Porlam, when was the dance last night?"

"It's past two o'clock," the house elf drooped its big ears in shame, "I'm really sorry, Miss Bennet, I got up late this morning too, and I've baked some biscuits and bread by now."

"It's all right, Paulam," Mary added hastily to reassure him, "then bring me some biscuits."

She also asked the house elf for a book, and spent almost the whole morning with the book. When it was almost noon, the Hogwarts owl unexpectedly arrived.

Mary glanced through her list of books, there was nothing special about it, and then she heard the sound of a window being smashed, which seemed to be coming from Sophie's room.

She went to knock on Sophie's door, and then heard her lazily yelling from the room, "I need to sleep a little longer."

"It will be lunch soon!" Mary answered loudly.

The door opened, and Sophie, with her disheveled hair and the buttons of her nightgown buttoned up, let Mary in, whining, "Oh, the bloody owl."

"At least it didn't come so early in the morning," laughed Mary.

"Come on, who told you to run away last night," Sophie complained immediately to the person in front of her, "Dear Mary, do you know what time we got last night? I was almost on the sofa in the lobby Fell asleep in the chair."

"I can't last that long," answered Mary, "and it doesn't look like anyone else will dance with me."

"Victor is still full of energy," Sophie continued. "I wonder how he has such a good spirit, and he refused Vincent's invitation to stay and went home by himself."

"At Victor's age, it's bad to be mentally ill," laughed Marie.

Sophie muttered a few more words, and then called the house-elf Midas to come over and help her comb her hair and dress, and when she was done tidying up, it was almost time for lunch.

"The Hogwarts owl has come," Sophie announced loudly as soon as she sat down at the dining table, and then she emphasized, "But I will definitely not go to Diagon Alley this afternoon."

"I'll have more time tomorrow," Mrs. Windermere looked at the eldest brother of the Knight family. "Phibos, can you stay at Stillwater Manor for a few more days?"

Phipps Knight immediately gave an affirmative answer.

But Buddell Knight laughed, "I'm afraid I can't enjoy it here anymore, I have to visit some friends and distant relatives who live in the Alps before the end of the summer," he smiled and looked at the Windermere couple , "Dear uncle and aunt, you know that summer ends especially early there."

"A relative from your father's side?" Mrs. Windermere asked. "I seem to have heard your mother say that they live on the edge of the giants' territory."

Badernet then briefly introduced his distinctive distant relatives.

When the meal was about to finish, Sophie said again, "I'm going to ride Sansos this afternoon," she emphasized seriously, "We're about to start school, but Mary hasn't ridden her yet."

Mary had almost forgotten the Yseron Pegasus, and she hoped with all her heart that Sophie had.I only heard Phibs Knight say again, "The clouds are not too thick today, and it's a good weather for riding a horse."

"Mary, do you need a nap?" Sophie asked again, having already made the decision for Mary.

Even if Mary doesn't have the habit of taking a nap, she will definitely take a nap at noon today.Unfortunately, whether it was due to her latent fear of flying, she didn't seem to fall asleep at all during this afternoon nap, and she still felt groggy when she stood in front of the stable of Iseron Pegasus.

Sophie was already excitedly going to hold Santhos, and Mary looked around boredly. Fortunately, it didn't take long for Phipps Knight to apparate nearby.

He was holding a basket, walked over, took out an apple, and asked loudly, "Miss Bennet, do you want to taste this apple? It's very sweet."

Mary agreed without hesitation. Phipps Knight put down the basket, took out a handkerchief and wiped the apple before handing it to Mary. He then took another apple and gnawed on it.

There are more than a dozen apples in the basket. "Miss Bennet, you will feed these apples to Sansos later," said Phipps Knight, "she has always liked apples, and when she has eaten these, she will be able to get acquainted with you. "

This might be a good way, however, almost at the moment when she was about to raise her head, the Yseron Pegasus suddenly fell from the sky and landed not far in front of her.

Mary took a few steps back in fright, and Sansos tentatively stretched her neck to sniff the basket. Sophie was still shouting something at the other end of the lawn, and Phippus Knight was already grinning. She patted Iseron Pegasus on the head, and stuffed half an apple into her mouth.

Sansos swallowed the half apple in one gulp, and rubbed her big head against Phoebe Snett, who ran her fingers through the long, hanging mane, and called Mary, "Miss Bennett." , quickly bring your apple here."

Mary still had half an apple in her hand, and she fed it to Sansos in the manner of Phippus Knight. "Oh, wonderful," he said, "now pet her."

Just eat a basket of apples like this. According to Phipps Knight, Mary has become familiar with this Yseron Pegasus, so of course she should try to ride it.

"Mary, try it," Sophie encouraged, "I can take you."

"Don't you also want to ride a horse?" Mary still found the last excuse, "You ride first."

Sophie didn't refuse, she got on her horse skillfully and rode away.Mary followed her leaving back with slightly envious eyes. Now, the wonderful enjoyment of flying and the fear of her feet hanging in the air have made her extremely entangled, and she has no idea what to do next.

Phipps Knight had been standing by the side all the time, he suddenly turned his face and smiled at Mary, "Miss Bennet, if you plan to ride a horse, I don't think you would mind if I take you?"

"Oh, Mr. Knight," startled Mary, "it's not necessary," she stammered hastily, "Sophie will take me."

"Sophie's riding skills are not good enough to lead people," replied Phibus Knight, "I know she still can't do without a lady's saddle, but the wings of the Yseron Pegasus are too big, and their At best you can put a lady's saddle on your back."

"Miss Bennet," he looked at her with a smile, "I don't think you dare to ride directly on Santhos's back."

Mary did not dare, and it almost made her give up—riding with Phippus Knight sounded like a terrible idea, and Mary had never ridden with a man before in her life.

So, when Sophie had finally sat down to the ground, Mary had run to ask her if she had ridden alone in the first place.

"There must be someone to take you." Sophie immediately became serious. "Vincent led me to ride for a long time before I had enough courage to ride alone."

Mary then told Sophie what Phibs Knight had said before.

"Don't worry, dear Mary," Sophie only hesitated for a moment, and then replied decisively, "I don't think I need a lady's saddle anymore."

On this issue, Mary actually believed in Phibos Knight's judgment more, so she shook her head decisively, "Dear Sophie, I can't let you take risks."

"Did Phibus Knight offer to take you for a ride?" Sophie asked again.

"Is it all right?" Mary asked back pretending to be relaxed.

"Er...of course," Sophie replied, "if you don't dislike him as a person."

At least so far, Mary hasn't found anything disgusting about Phipps Knight. From this perspective, the suggestion to ride with him is not unacceptable.

And he was already waiting beside him with his horse. Mary smiled at Sophie, "Anyway, since he has already proposed it with good intentions, it would be too impolite for me to refuse."

"That's the only way to go," Sophie frowned, and instructed, "Be careful yourself."

The matter was actually much simpler than they imagined. Phipps Knight let Mary sit behind him, and the back of Iseron Pegasus was actually wide enough for two people to sit on it without being too crowded.

From Mary's point of view, she didn't need to pay attention to who was sitting in front of her at all. In the few minutes after they took off, she really focused all her attention on her feet and the shrinking scenery in front of her. Until Phibus Knight turned and handed her the reins.

"Miss Bennet, hold on to the rein," he said, "Santhos is very smart, she will take you where you want to go, hold on to the rein just to better maintain your balance."

"If you're sure you can sit still, as I do," he added emphatically, "you don't have to hold on to the rein all the time, it's better to spend your time admiring the scenery."

But Mary had enough reasons to hold on to the reins tightly, and she didn't even bother to answer him. The wind was so strong that she could no longer see Stillwater Manor. At her feet, there were only dense forests.

"Oh, Miss Bennet, you won't feel comfortable tugging at Sansos like that," said Phippus Knight again. "Take it easy, look, there's Coneston Hill ahead..."

"How about we fly to the top of the mountain?" he asked aloud.

Mary also saw Mount Coneston, they were already very close to the foot of the mountain, so this mountain looked more majestic than from a distance, Mary had never thought of climbing such a high mountain, but since she is now riding Yi Seron Pegasus, of course you can give it a try.

"Of course!" she answered him loudly.

Mary didn't hear that Phibos Knight gave Sansos any new orders, but it had already started to adjust its flight angle, and they flew upwards almost at the angle of the trees on the mountain. The top of the mountain with white clouds floating in front of Mary's eyes, is rapidly becoming larger and larger.

This is probably the joy of flying. When you are down to earth, it is obviously impossible to see such a view.Soon Mary could no longer see the outline of the summit, of course because they were so close.

Mary didn't have time to make any mental preparations, so when the dense forest in front of her suddenly disappeared and was replaced by a blue sky with white clouds floating, she couldn't help crying out, and at the same time, she heard Phipps Knight also yelled something.

"Miss Bennet," he asked again suddenly, "do you like flying like this?"

Mary knew very well that she liked flying, so she replied, "Mr. Knight, let's go back now, I think I can ride by myself."
