Chapter 011 Parseltongue

Hearing what the blond boy said, Tom narrowed his eyes slightly, "Parseltongue? What's that?"

"Haven't you heard of it? Parseltongue is the ability to talk to snakes." The blond boy replied. He suddenly stared at Tom with a strange scrutiny, "...Actually, this ability is very rare."

Tom said impatiently, "What are you trying to say?"

"No, you definitely don't know, Parseltongue also means..." At this point, the blond boy suddenly stopped talking. He looked Tom up and down as if weighing something. "It's unbelievable," he whispered. "There must be something wrong."

"What does that mean?" asked Tom, frowning.

The blond boy didn't answer him, but continued to stare at him with that weird look.

Tom raised the wand in his hand, pointed at the boy who was a full head taller than himself, and at the same time said in a strong tone, "Answer me!"

Probably startled by Tom's sudden aggressive attitude, the blond boy immediately replied with a stiff expression: "Any Slytherin student can tell you this—Parseltongue is actually Salazar Slater Lin himself has a unique ability."

As he spoke, he suddenly swallowed his saliva, and his eyes suddenly became hot as he stared at Tom, "Besides, it is said that only his heirs have that ability."

Tom fell silent for a moment.

From Eleanor's perspective he couldn't see his expression, so she floated forward some distance.

She saw Tom lower his head slightly, and said softly with a blank expression: "You mean, I'm probably his descendant?"

"How do I know?" the blond boy muttered. He tried to look dismissive, but failed. The muscles on his face twisted, and then he said with a sneer: "You should know this kind of thing better than me."

Tom looked at the point in front of him without saying a word.It seemed that nothing could be seen from his expression, but Eleanor still noticed that the knuckles of his hand holding the wand were a little white.

Eleanor cleared her throat and decided to break the silence, "Children, it's getting late. Don't forget, you have class tomorrow."

At this moment Tom moved suddenly. He bowed his head and said something to the snake coiled up on the ground.

Eleanor swore she saw the snake nodding at Tom.Then it slipped quickly back into Tom's robes.

"That's all for today, Flint." Tom raised his head and said coldly to the blond boy. "If you still want to make trouble, I'm more than happy to accompany you."

After he finished speaking, he strode past the boy, opened the door and left the empty bedroom.

For some unknown reason, the blond boy named Flint didn't stop him, but watched Tom leave thoughtfully.

When Tom walked out of the room, he cursed to himself as if awakened from a dream: "Damn it! What the hell am I doing? I forgot that—"

At this moment, Eleanor floated past him.She looked at the annoyed blond boy, snickered, and finally decided not to tell him the truth.

Just let the two of them pass the night in fear of expulsion.thought Eleanor. This is also a punishment for them.

After Transfiguration the next morning, Tom headed straight to the library without even eating lunch.

This surprised Eleanor, because Tom had always been very strict about his schedule and never missed a meal.He seems to understand the importance of good living habits better than ordinary children.

As a matter of fact, Tom had been a little uneasy since last night's incident. He even went awry for the first time in his Transfiguration class, accidentally burning the bun he was using for the transformation into charcoal.

Dumbledore also seemed to have noticed that something was wrong with this student who had always performed well, and he even asked Tom specifically if he was uncomfortable. But Tom just brushed it off.

"Sorry, Professor," he said, "I just didn't sleep well last night."

Then, as if to prove that he was all right, he quickly transformed the bun into a bar of soap perfectly, earning Slytherin two points.

Of course Eleanor knew why Tom was like this.It must have something to do with what the boy named Flint said last night.

Suddenly knowing that one has great ancestors is exciting for anyone, but Eleanor always felt that Tom was taking things a little too far.

She stared at Tom who was struggling to pull out a heavy book from the upper shelf, and asked curiously, "What exactly do you want to check?"

This time, Tom didn't ignore her question.

"Finding out all about Salazar Slytherin, of course," he replied, and began to dig through the books.

Soon, Eleanor saw an unconcealable smile gradually appear on Tom's face.

He raised his head and said to Eleanor in an almost ecstatic tone: "Look here—Muggles!" Pointing to the book in front of him, he said in a suppressed excited tone, "Flint is right— — Only the descendants of Salazar are Parseltongues! So I must be his descendant!"

Eleanor suddenly opened her eyes slightly.

This was the first time Tom had spoken to him on his own initiative.

He'd never done that before, so that means he's really excited and desperate to share his joy with others.

It was also the first time Eleanor saw real emotion on the boy's face - he now looked like a kid who'd just learned that Christmas was coming early.

Eleanor smiled immediately, and said in an understatement tone: "Oh, that's really congratulations."

"No, you don't understand, you're just a Muggle," murmured Tom, with a sudden, almost frenzied excitement in his dark eyes, "yes, that's right, it must have been from my father." Arrived...he must be a descendant of Slytherin!"

"It may also be from your mother." Eleanor said casually.

The light in Tom's eyes suddenly dimmed, and he said dryly, "That's impossible."

Eleanor looked at him a little surprised, "Why?"

"Impossible is impossible," said Tom impatiently, and slammed the book shut in his hand.

Elinor had a vague feeling that Tom seemed reluctant to bring up the subject of his mother.

"But your father is probably just an ordinary person." Eleanor couldn't help reminding him.

Tom seemed irritated by Eleanor's words, he said coldly: "Don't you still think that Muggle with the same name and surname has anything to do with me?"

Of course it matters.thought Eleanor. But she couldn't say it, because it reminded her of the unpleasant incident again.

Eleanor's sudden silence did not attract Tom's attention.

He began to concentrate on searching for other materials related to the Slytherin family, and soon, a high pile of books was piled up in front of him.

Gradually, his expression became serious, and the previous excitement suddenly disappeared without a trace.

He suddenly closed the book in his hand, and then threw the book aside with a gloomy expression.

"What's the matter?" Eleanor asked condescendingly as she floated in mid-air with her arms folded, "Have you found anything?"

"They say there are very few descendants of Slytherin," said Tom, frowning. "They say it's been in decline for a long time. It's hard to find a successor to his blood now."

As he spoke, his expression suddenly relaxed again, and a smile appeared on his face, "But that's fine." He raised his head and sneered, as if he was talking to Eleanor, or talking to himself, " That makes me look special, doesn't it?"

"Trust me, you're special enough," murmured Eleanor.
