Chapter 4 The Cyan Crab

Yao Jianqi stayed like this.

At night, she sleeps in the same room with Yao An, sharing an electric shaking head fan.

Yao Jianqi's bed used to be the wedding bed of Yao's grandpa and grandma Yao. It was made of retro wooden hollowed-out twill, with footrests, mosquito nets, and a piece of red-lettered charm on a yellow background.

In contrast, Yao An was like a blanket, a mattress and mat, no mosquito net, no pillow, just like a floor mat with legs.

Yao An has been sleeping for nearly 12 years, and he didn’t think there was anything wrong with it in the past and now. The pillows are too high for him, and the mosquito nets are the mosquitoes in the country. He is familiar with them. One night, and the next day, there were countless mosquito sacs growing from the neck to the limbs, which were conspicuously red on the white skin.

The medicine at home had expired long ago, Grandma Yao sent Yao An to Yan Huai'en's house to get a box of cooling ointment, and went to the canteen to buy a bottle of mosquito repellent water.

Grandma Yao scooped out the box with her fingers, and lifted Yao Jianqi's arm without much thought, but before the medicine was applied, the arm quickly slipped away from her grasp like a little snake.

Yao Jianqi clutched his wrist, silently at the side.

"Let him paint it himself." Yao An said as he put the plastic bag on the trash can and looked at them.

Grandma Yao was inevitably a little helpless, but she wasn't too surprised. Anyway, it wasn't the first time she had encountered this child, and she didn't want to be touched.

She wiped the ointment on the side of the box, wiped her fingers on her clothes, gave some instructions and left.

Yao An blew into the garbage bag with all his strength, and he was submissive, then sat down on the chair next to him, looked at Yao Jianqi who was still motionless: "Paint it, if you don't paint it, I can get started."

After the second hand made one tick, Yao Jianqi applied the cooling ointment on his arms.

Yao An propped his chin and looked at each of the mosquito bags. At first, he thought it was quite strange, but as he looked at it, his gaze changed a little.

He leaned close to Yao Jianqi's left hand, who was caught off guard and almost poked his sticky finger into his eyes, so he quickly retracted.

"You, your part..." Yao An was surprised, "I made it?"

He pointed to Yao Jianqi's tiger's mouth, where there was a broken red mark, which seemed to have scabbed over.

It was he who pinched Yao Jianqi on the first day.

He pinches so hard?

Stop it.

Yao An felt pity in his heart, thinking how tender the meat is! If scars were left, he would be guilty of a big crime.

Yao Jianqi didn't know what nonsense was going on in his head, he glanced at the tiger's mouth, and followed his fingers there.

At a glance, Yao An subconsciously squeezed Yao Jianqi's wrist, and shouted, "Hey, what are you doing, you can't put cool oil on the wound!"

Yao Jianqi was stunned by his yelling, but he didn't have time to break free from his hand.

"Tsk tsk tsk, Yao An, why are you so cruel to your brother?" Kang Zi stood at the door with his hips akimbo, showing half of his body.

Yao An let go of Yao Jianqi, stood up and gave Kangzi the middle finger: "It's none of your business."

"Hi little brother, little brother is so handsome." Kang Zi leaned over and waved at Yao Jianqi, but he didn't get any response as expected.

These two brothers, one has a violent temper and the other has no feelings, and they have a tacit understanding when they get together.

Kang Zi cursed, and jumped two steps to the side, revealing the fishing rod hidden behind his back.

"How is it!" He shook the pole vigorously.

Yao An's eyes lit up, he went to take the fishing rod, felt it up and down, found that the fishing rod was quite new, and the fishing line was also strong, he said happily, "Okay, you."

"Let's go, I have to go home and change my sister's diaper later!" Kang Zi urged him.

Yao An also didn't go out for a long time, and he couldn't wait to play. He hurriedly went to the kitchen, took out a half-sized tin bucket, and ran out joyfully.

When he reached the door, he stopped again and looked back at Yao Jianqi.

"Shall we go fishing together?" Yao An shook the bucket.

Yao Jianqi didn't reply, he applied the cooling ointment meticulously, this time he didn't apply it to the wound.

"Forget it, let's go." Yao An ran out the door.

The two followed the path to the bamboo forest, and the tin buckets jingled all the way.

Yao An winked at the door and let Kangzi go in, while he listened to the corner by the window.

Kang Zi's voice was rough, Yan Muchun's voice was muddy, and Yan Huai'en's voice was low and delicate. He put his ear close to the window frame, fearing that Yan Muchun would not let him go.

After a while, it seemed that someone stroked the inkstone on the rice paper, dipped it in ink, and wrote a word.

Yan Muchun snorted from his throat, with a choking smell of smoke, which seemed dissatisfied.

Yao An thought about it.

"Practice tomorrow." Yan Muchun said.

There were rustling noises in the room. After a while, Yan Huai'en and Kang Zi stepped out of the threshold. Yan Huai'en was holding a book and looked at Yao An with a smile.

"Grandpa asked you to come in and sit next time, your legs are sore while standing."

"Ah, ah?" Yao An's eyes widened.

"You're afraid that we don't know there's someone standing under the window." Kang Zi laughed.

"I'll go." Yao An stomped his foot, raised his leg and was about to enter the door to kneel down to Yan Muchun.

Yan Huai'en stopped him and said, "Let's go, grandpa is going to take a nap, he won't be angry with you."

Yao An glanced at the room, but he had no choice but to apologize in person next time.

Several clusters of tall trees hide several families, and the pond lies sunk in lush green bushes, with many dragonflies hovering on its surface. On the wet mud at the edge, blue-gray crabs are crawling leisurely, and the words "no swimming and fishing" are written in paint on the erected wooden sign.

Yao An and Kang Zi took off their shoes, stooped and groped in the field beside them for a long time, caught a loach and stuffed it into their trouser pockets. When the pocket was almost full, he strung the slippery loach on the hook with great difficulty and threw the buoy in the middle of the pool.

Yao An raised his chin and waited for a while, but there was still no movement.

"Why haven't you taken the bait yet?" Yao An tiptoed impatiently.

"How can it be so fast, wait a minute." Kangzi stared at the lake without blinking, how many times more focused than in the past when listening to lectures.

Yao An was the most impatient, he put his hand into his pocket and grabbed a few times, trying to make the loach inside safe, but one of them suddenly jumped out, drew an arc, and landed on Yan Huai'en's open book .

Yan Huai'en's hand holding the book trembled visibly, and cold sweat formed on his forehead. If he didn't feel sorry for the book, he would have thrown it into the lake.

Yao An stretched out two muddy fingers to pinch, but instead of pinching, two fingerprints were left behind.

Yan Huai'en was speechless, so he had to turn the book upside down, let the loach go back to the ground to find a home, while he moved aside, a little further away from Yao An.

Yao An laughed a few times instead, and said, "Wynn, Mr. Yan shouldn't be raising you like this. He's afraid of loach, and he doesn't dare to touch fish."

Yan Huai'en wiped the mud on the paper with the back of his hand, wiped it on the wooden railing, and replied: "Not everyone likes these."

"Why not..." Yao An said at the beginning, but then stopped, thinking of Yao Jianqi at home.

Yan Huai'en seemed to have a tacit understanding, and asked, "Why didn't your brother come again?"

Before Yao An could answer, Kang Zi, who was listening to all directions, had already answered: "You can't even say a word, why come to play."

"Tsk." Yao An cast a sidelong glance at the man, wanting to refute, but ignored him.

He really didn't hear Yao Jianqi open his mouth to speak.

It's been more than half a month since I came here, and I can hold back a word, and he still doesn't think it's strange.

"Didn't you say that he lived abroad before?" Yan Huai'en guessed, "Does he not speak Chinese?"

Hearing this, Yao An frowned and thought for a while, then nodded with a [-]% possibility.

The other point was automatically excluded by him - Yao Jianqi didn't want to talk to him.

"You need to make him talk more." Kangzi picked his nose, staring at the buoy without forgetting his idea, "If you don't speak Chinese, you won't be dumb in the future."

Yao An pursed his lips, and began to ponder seriously. Before he could figure out why, the pole in his hand was suddenly pulled by some mysterious force.

He froze for a moment, then whispered, "Hey, I'm hooked!"

"Oh, no." Kang Zi looked bewildered.

"Fool, let me tell you!"

Kang Zi was enlightened, he had been staring at his own buoy just now, and he was almost staring at each other, and now he looked over, the buoy at Yao An not far away was pulled under the water surface, and circles of ripples were spreading outward.

"Come and help me!" Yao An's hands trembled a little, this was his first time fishing, so he was very excited.

Kang Zi put down his fishing rod awe-inspiringly, put it on the ground, and ran to Yao An's side.

Yan Huaien also put down his book and stood up, and took a closer look.

Yao An swallowed, and drew up the line excitedly and carefully, not daring to move, for fear that the living thing would slip away. He looked at the buoy slowly moving towards the shore, thinking that the tank at home would finally be safe. After raising a fish, when the time comes, he will pick a few lotus leaves and put them on his head, preferably with lotus flowers and lotus pods.

"It's you again! Don't run away!"

The sharp voice interrupted Yao An's daydream.

A man was carrying a hoe, pointing at them, and ran down the slope cursingly, matching the dark sky, it was a bit of a discord.

"Damn it!" Yao An panicked, gritted his teeth, and pulled the thread with both hands.

"It's too late!" Kang Zi hurriedly pulled his fishing rod, pulling at Yao An's collar, "Run! It's over if he snatches the rod!"

How can there be any reason to let the fish go away when it reaches his mouth, Yao An did not listen to the persuasion, but still held on to the fishing rod firmly, sweating profusely from anxiety, and pulled it loose several times.

Yan Huai'en picked up the bucket on the ground, stepped forward and said, "Let's go, it won't be good if you get caught."

Yao An looked at the fishpond owner who was rolling down from the hillside like a ball at the other end, and then at the fish that could not be dragged ashore, and raised his fishing rod unwillingly.
