Chapter 3 Ultraman Slippers

There were several bundles of clothes of unknown age on the bed, all of which were children's styles. The door of the wooden wardrobe decorated with paintings of flowers and birds of the four seasons was wide open, and it kept ding-ding-dong-dong.

"Huh?" Grandma Yao closed half of the cabinet door, rummaged through her clothes without giving up, "I clearly remember being here."

Yao An looked at the mess on his bed, put the composition text that Kang Zi had just brought under the mat, and was speechless to himself.

"Grandma, what are you looking for?"

"The slippers you wore when you were young, aren't they all put together with your clothes? Could it be thrown away?" Grandma Yao wiped her sweat with a handkerchief, stuffed it into her trouser pocket, and started a new round of digging.

"Hey, don't look for it, I'll come." Yao An pulled her aside, knelt on the ground by himself, groped under the bed with his hips pouted, and he really found it.

"Look, it's not here." Grandma Yao said happily.

There was an Ultraman head painted on the small blue slippers, which were dusty. Yao An ran outside and rinsed them with a hose, and brought them back wet.

"I found the shoes, where is the person?" Yao An looked around.

The other cabinet door closed "squeaky-" and Yao Jianqi stood quietly beside the cabinet with a black bag in his arms.

Grandma Yao held his shoulders and led him outside: "Put down the bag, let's go take a shower."

Yao Jianqi was led forward by her, moved his feet forward, and suddenly ran away from him, clinging to the foot of the bed.

Grandma Yao didn't know why, and she was going to lead him again. Yao Jianqi turned away immediately, and hid in the corner between the bed and the wall. His white coat rubbed against the wall, and it was covered with red mud in an instant.

"Hey, this child!" Grandma Yao sighed with her waist in her hands. If this was Yao An, she would have thrown her ears into the tub long ago.

"I'll take him there." Yao An hurried forward and winked at grandma.

Grandma Yao glanced at him worriedly, then at the other, seeing nothing wrong, she clapped her hands and walked out.

Yao Jianqi was still in the corner, still in that evasive posture, with his head bowed and his arms around the bag, his shoulders drooping slightly.

Yao An took two steps towards him, he shrank instinctively, and looked up at Yao An.

"Go take a shower." Yao An hooked the slippers with two fingers and shook them.

Yao Jianqi remained silent.

"You wash it yourself, and I'll take you there, okay?" Yao An raised his hands again to show his sincerity.

He backed up and turned around. After walking a few steps, he looked back at Yao Jianqi and said, "Come on."

Yao Jianqi was dazed for a few seconds before putting down his bag.

The toilet is on the westernmost side of the house, facing a small cliff, and the road is dark. I can only hear the footsteps slow and fast, one step and the other two steps. When moving your legs, break your step into smaller half-steps.

Yao An touched the wall and pulled the small glass bottle hanging from the string, and the blazing yellow tungsten bulb lit up, like a cluster of torches lit in the field.

"The bottom one is hot water." Yao An turned a switch, "The top one is cold water, if you feel hot, just turn it a little bit, I usually turn it so much."

He looked at Yao Jianqi, guessing that the other party must have listened, and continued: "You can't reach the shelf on the wall, just put your clothes on the chair, so they don't get wet."

After explaining this, he took off the shower head and hung it in a low place, pulled the curtain again, and retreated outside the door: "Call me if you have anything, and speak louder."

Yao Jianqi stood inside and was about to close the door, but was effortlessly stopped by a hand.

He raised his head and looked at the owner of the hand in a daze.

"You..." Yao An showed half of his face, and the corner of his mouth twitched unnaturally, "Do you know my name?"

The cool wind swept by, and the surrounding fields were silent.

Yao An dripped with sweat, so he could only say, "My name is Yao..."

He paused.

Yao Jianqi's eyes were covered by thick eyelashes, and he nodded to him very slightly, as if.

The door was closed, and the iron bar got into the lock sheath with some effort, and then there was the sound of clothes being put down.

Forgot to say not to close it so tightly, the door lock is rusty, Yao An thought to himself.

With his pockets in his pockets, he dragged him towards the house, deliberately grinding the floor with the soles of his shoes, as if he wanted to grind a hole.

"Oh, I'm so annoying."

Yao An kicked the wall, ran back, and sat carelessly on the stone steps not far from the door.

The frogs sounded gradually, and the cicadas blew again. He leaned on the edge of the water tank, stretched his whole arm into the cool water, and stirred up circles of ripples, but he still couldn't reach the bottom.

Grandpa walked over and tapped Yao An's leg with his toes: "The child is in the toilet?"

Yao An straightened up, nodded and said, "Yes."

"Your grandma said he refused to take a bath, so let me coax him." Grandpa Yao was quite relieved, "You still know something."

Yao Anchi laughed and boasted, "Your grandson is capable, okay?"

Grandpa Yao stroked his beard noncommittally, and seeing that there was nothing wrong, he walked back to report to Grandma Yao.

As soon as the person left, Yao An lay down on his side again, splashing the water on the surface of the tank from time to time, sprinkling the water on his face like stars.

He was thinking about catching a big grass carp someday and keeping it in a tank.

Thinking about it, Yao An almost fell asleep, tilted his head on the edge of the tank, and woke up again.

Not right.

Yao An turned his head to look at the crack of the door where light was leaking from every corner, and asked in surprise, "How long have you been washing this?"

In the afternoon, Yao Jianqi's pale and colorless face lying on the ground flashed in his mind, Yao An stood up suddenly, and rushed to the door like a fire.

"Hey!" he yelled.

There is no response inside.

"Yao Jianqi, did you hear that?" Yao An thumped the door twice, "Yao Jianqi, Yao Jianqi..."

The door "clicked" and opened from the inside.

Yao Jianqi's toes were curled up in the pair of Ultraman slippers, holding half-wet towels and clothes, his cheeks were flushed by the steam, his brows and eyes were wet, and he was actually a little more angry than before.

He was a head and a half shorter than Yao An, looking up at Yao An calmly.

"...Hey, after washing for so long, I thought something happened." Yao An looked down at him, with a helpless smile on his face.
