Chapter 14 "Theory and Practice of Time Magic"
So Nora and Hermione sat chatting on the edge of the Quidditch pitch, away from the crowd.
Nora used to be a batsman for the Gryffindor team and has always been passionate about the sport. But now, she's sitting courtside, unable to play in person.Nor did she have much interest in seeing what the level of Gryffindor players would look like 50 years from now.
Nora discovered that even though she was, in a sense, 50 years older than Hermione, they had something in common.Such as the relationship between Muggles and wizards, and boys who are careless.
"I really don't understand why some wizards look down on Muggles," said Hermione. "Don't they realize how deeply they are influenced by Muggles? The Hogwarts Express, newspapers and cameras, all Invented by Muggles."
"I couldn't agree more," Nora said. "I think Muggles are much smarter than wizards. Television sets and microwave ovens, for example. It's amazing. Wizards don't know much about Muggles."
"You know, I also know a Muggle lover who works in the Ministry of Magic. He even modified a Muggle car...but he even screamed at the sight of a rubber duck. And he is already the opposite of Muggle among wizards I understand better."
"Normal," said Nora, "but some wizards have an absolute loathing for Muggles."
In this way, after half an hour, Nora and Hermione officially became friends.
"Boys are always like this, impulsive, reckless, reckless," complained Hermione.
"Maybe it's not because of the boy." Nora, who once deducted fifty points for Gryffindor a year, touched her nose, feeling a little guilty, "You know, we are all Gryffindors."
"But the boys...they're too..." Hermione didn't know how to describe it.Her eyes couldn't help but follow the red-haired goalkeeper, although she forced herself not to do so, "Anyway, a bunch of idiots."
Nora didn't know what heinous thing Harry Potter and his friends had done to make Hermione so angry and aggrieved that she blushed with anger.
"Tell me about... Tom Riddle." Hermione wanted to bring up the subject pretending to be casual. But her awkward look when she talked about the name gave her away.
Nora had been waiting for this question.
"Not a good student," Nora said, "likes to hang out in the dark arts area of the first district, scaring everyone around, and makes no secret of his dislike of Muggles, and by the way, he also hates Quidditch Odd, think that's a waste of time."
"You don't actually believe what I'm saying," Hermione concluded calmly. "You believe he wouldn't send you to die on purpose."
"Well, you're right," said Nora. She was a little annoyed that her mind was seen through, "Just treat it as if I was cheated. But even if I believed that he didn't want my life at that time, so what? He killed so many people... Will I continue to kill me?" Be friends?"
"Maybe more than just friends," said Hermione. She herself felt that it was a bit unbelievable for her to say such a thing.Talk about Voldemort's emotional history? But the words still blurted out.
It must be because she has done too much love coaching for Ginny. She explained it to herself.
"Hey! Could it be that someone really falls in love with a ghoul who enjoys killing people?" Nora asked excitedly.
Gryffindor training was almost over, and Hermione's friends waved to her in the distance.
"Oh, I have to go," said Hermione, as she packed her things. "Goodbye."
"Goodbye," said Nora. She sat without moving and waited until everyone was gone.
She remembered something.
Once she sat courtside with someone, away from the crowd, watching Quidditch practice. She was in high spirits, and the man sitting next to her was not.Yes, he was dragged here by her.
It really doesn't matter which team trains, or even Quidditch itself.
Slytherin's relationship with the other three houses wasn't that bad back then, and Professor Slughorn was kind of likeable.People will not be so surprised to see a lion and a snake sitting together.
"This boring sport can attract so many people." The person beside her said lazily, and he looked around, "That's why their minds are getting more and more empty."
"People need sweat, exercise, and stimulation," Nora said. "You don't understand anyway."
He snorted coldly.Leaning on the seat, continue to read his book.
"Speaking of which, I discovered a magic." Nora said suddenly.
Silence is a signal for her to continue talking.
"It is said that it can bring the dead back to life."
Now, facing the empty stadium, Nora was a little confused, whether it was her original memory or Nora's from this world. Those images came to her mind so naturally.
The smell of fresh grass, the shouts of the field, the bright sun, vague or vivid, like real memories.
Yes, she did not believe it.
Probably because, during her time at Hogwarts, none of the trickery Riddle used on others never fell on her; or maybe it was because, in retrospect, how peacefully they looked walking side by side ; or maybe it was because she did read an expression similar to sadness from his face, sad for her death.
This expression on Tom Riddle's face is as meaningful to the wizarding world as a human landing on the moon.
Nora jumped up suddenly.
She rushed into the library, and Mrs. Pince frowned.Nora didn't have time to say sorry and went straight to the first area.
At that time Tom Riddle was reading a book, a very old book with the words on the cover - "Theoretical Research and Practice of Time Magic".
"You're only 16 years old." Nora, who returned to the Room of Requirement with a lot of information about Occlumency, didn't rush to read the book, but chatted with him casually, as if she suddenly remembered something great, "But I'm seventeen, and now I'm older than you."
"According to what you said, I'm over 70 years old now." Riddle answered her, "enough to be your grandpa."
This Riddle is more patient than the real him.Norah suspected that Tom Riddle must have put all his patience into this diary.
Nora was determined not to destroy Ravenclaw's diadem now.Just kidding, a crazy Voldemort is still difficult to defeat, a sane Voldemort is completely a BOSS on hell difficulty.
"I remember this diary was given to you by me." Nora changed the subject, "14th birthday gift and New Year's gift. I used up all my pocket money at that time, and bought it from a Muggle shop with the last money I had. A diary. I thought you'd never use it."
"I happened to be working on a magic at the time," said Tom, "the magic that stores memories." He looked so real that it didn't look like a memory at all.
"How did you think of making it into a Horcrux later?" Nora asked. "There are many other ways to obtain immortality. Like the Philosopher's Stone..."
"That's not immortality, it's just living in vain," said Tom, frowning in disgust.
"I've seen your Boggart," Nora said suddenly.
Someone is afraid of spiders, someone is afraid of zombies, someone is afraid of a headless ghost, and someone is afraid of a stern professor. When it was Tom Riddle's turn, a corpse came out of the closet and fell straight on the ground.
It was his own body that fell.
"Funny funny." Riddle chanted, his voice steady. The face of the corpse changed into that of a clown.
Didn't pay attention to this episode.Only Nora paid attention.
Everyone is going to die, and everyone fears it.But they never thought about death.
Tom Riddle, no one knows for sure what's going on in his head.
"What's so good about immortality, Tom." It was the first time in a long time that she called his name. "What's the difference between living alone and living with nothing?"
"You won't understand," said Tom, ignoring her, and returning to his diary.Nora interpreted this as exasperation, and took it as a significant victory for her.
Because she was so sleepy, Nora fell asleep on the table.A figure emerged from the diary.Looks as real as alive.
Riddle took Nora's wand.He looked at the girl's sleeping and defenseless face, and said coldly, "Occlumency without home, stupid girl."
The girl made the resurrection stone ring into a necklace and hung it on her chest, and she was holding it at this time.
He reached out and touched her face.He touched the warm, living temperature. If the girl was still conscious, she would have felt the cold fingers slide across her cheek like a snake.
Riddle took his wand and walked out of the Room of Requirement.
"I can't wait to see you face to face, Nora," Riddle whispered. "What will you do then?"
Nora had a rare sweet dream. For her now, a dream without Tom Riddle would be a dream.
She dreamed that she was walking alone in an empty castle.
"Is anyone there?" she asked.
No one, not a sound. The castle was dead silent.
Where did she come from?Where is she going?
She thought about this question and kept walking forward.
A huge library appeared in front of him.
Maybe there will be an answer in the book.Thinking like this, she plunged into the pile of books. But she soon tires of it.
No, there wasn't what she was looking for here.
So she walked on.I saw a dark forest.
Out of a certain fear, she stopped in front of the forest.
It was strange that she was still afraid.Isn't she dead?
died?By the way, she is dead.
At last Nora remembered the fact.It dawned on her.Oh, it turned out she was dead.
Then, she saw a huge, fiery red sun slowly setting down in front of her.The sky, clouds and leaves are all dyed brilliant red.
Sitting on a branch, she suddenly felt intense loneliness. She has no tears because she is dead.
What will I die?she asked her heart.Heart did not answer.
She forgot the reason for her death.
After waking up, Nora told Riddle about the dream with great interest. She told him about the great castle, the library, the forest and the sunset.
"The world after death is very boring, just me," she said, "and I forgot how I died. What do you think I should die of?"
"If that's your dream, the answer should be in there," Riddle said.
Nora got up, her steps were weak, and she almost fell to the ground. She supported the table, and then realized that she hadn't eaten in the cafeteria for two days, and she was dizzy and severely anemic due to hunger.
She had to leave here to find some food outside.
After going out, she happened to meet Draco Malfoy walking towards him, accompanied by two girls.
"You are from..."
"I came out of the Room of Requirement." Nora yawned. "This is the common property of everyone in the school. You have no right to drive me away."
Unexpectedly, Malfoy wasn't angry, he seemed afraid to look her in the face, looking over her shoulder.
"Draco Malfoy?" Nora called his name tentatively. "Did you know me when I was a ghost?"
"I don't know." He quickly vetoed it.Then hurried past her.
The author has something to say: Brother Tom took over the work of Brother Xiao Ma and started to repair the disappearing cabinet, and the progress has been greatly improved
