Chapter 13 Diary

Practicing Occlumency isn't fun, it's not a good feeling to be hacked over and over again.

"As far as I can see, Miss Nora," said Dumbledore, "your mind is like a great fog."

"Mist?"

"Yes." Dumbledore told her, "Many memories are hidden. I believe that is not your intention, but the memories themselves that only you can see."

Dumbledore's blue eyes behind half-moon lenses looked at Norah benignly.

After that Nora's life at Hogwarts got busy.

Dumbledore, who has always seen the dragon from head to tail, didn't know where he got so much time to practice Occlumency with her.

Nora wondered how much Dumbledore had peeked into his own mind during this training, but he said nothing.

Nora had always believed that Dumbledore could see through time, and now she believed so firmly.

Thankfully, Nora's progress is also noticeable.Maybe she still has some talent for Occlumency.she thinks.

If you want to describe Nora's studies, you only need one word: partial.Seriously biased.

Her Potions and Herbology sucks, and History of Magic and Astronomy sucks, needless to say.But Charms and Transfiguration got an Honor, and Defense Against the Dark Arts got an Honor under the influence of Tom Riddle.

For the rest of the time, she stayed in the Room of Requirement, working on magic items.

A pleasant surprise is that Tom actually hid a Horcrux here.Ravenclaw's diadem. It sealed part of Tom's sanity, if she remembered correctly.

Nora thought for a while. With his sanity blocked, she is not his opponent, let alone a fully intelligent Voldemort? She eventually put it away and didn't destroy it right away.

Dumbledore must know she wasn't telling the whole truth, Nora thought. Also knew she had something to hide.

She still dreams about those scenes in her dreams. Those miserable futures are tangled together like dense threads.Any slight disturbance can cause deviation, but ultimately point to the same ending.

The future is a ball of yarn, one end of which is a child named Tom Riddle born at the gate of the orphanage, and the other end is a body claiming to be Voldemort lying on the ground.During the period, there was countless blood and fear.

Maybe it was Harry Potter, maybe it was Navelon Barton, or even, she saw that the person who did it was Dumbledore himself, and that man would die.Even though he thought he was immortal.

So every time she woke up, Nora was full of enthusiasm for work again.

After successfully destroying a Horcrux with magic. She understood how important something like remodeling Muggle sex was.Wizards have never seen Muggle guns, which can achieve unexpected effects in battle, and each bullet is comparable to a curse, with huge lethality.

In fact, in the student days, she and Tom had overcome the biggest problem: getting the damage spell attached to the bullet.

But that pistol won't work, it's not strong enough.

Nora could only hope that, out of wizarding dignity, the Voldemort of this world would disdain anything with Muggle ties.Otherwise, he guessed that even the missiles with group Avada Kedavra attached would be almost out.

However, there is one less person around, and the progress is obviously much slower.

Tom Riddle is indeed a genius, in every sense of the word.

Nora scratched her hair in distress, thinking about how to make the magic in the bullet work on the opponent accurately.

"Add the Blast Charm," said a voice.

Nora was startled, and found a phantom figure appeared in front of her—16-year-old Tom Riddle.

"But I..."

"But you didn't write anything in the diary," said Tom. "It was the ring that gave me the power to manifest."

He glanced at Nora indifferently: "So, it is 1997, and you are still 17 years old."

Nora's eyes widened: "Did you hear that?"

"Yes, I hear you," said Tom. "You're deceiving Dumbledore."

"I haven't," said Nora. She guessed how much the current Tom Riddle's soul fragment knew.In theory, he only has Tom Riddle's 16-year-old memory and the part he overheard after he came to this world.

"You've always acted calmly," Riddle said. "I don't think an average Hogwarts student would have acted as calmly as you after finding himself spanning more than 50 years."

"It's not quite true what you told Dumbledore, is it?" he said. "I'm wondering how you managed to master the secret of time travel."

The look on Nora's face betrayed what she really thought.

"Just a simple reasoning is enough." He raised his chin, "I happened to read a few books about time and space travel, and when I connected it all, everything suddenly became clear."

"So, what are you going to do now? Instigate me to open the door of the secret room and release the basilisk?"

"Salazar Slytherin doesn't expect to kill all the Muggle wizards in the school with basilisks," said Tom Riddle, sitting in a chair, looking like a fuzzy white shadow, " Don't rush to drive me away, Nora, can you really solve this by yourself?" He pointed to a pile of messy machines.

"Okay." Nora said discouragedly, "I'm indeed not as smart as you, but you are completely untrustworthy now, so go back to me."

Tom, however, remained motionless.Nora's hand passed through his chest, as if through a void.

"I'm more unreal than a ghost now," said Tom. "Can't touch anything."

"If you don't stay in the diary, I'll destroy it right now," Nora threatened.

"Then destroy it." Riddle said nonchalantly.

In the end, it was Nora who threw in the towel. She continued to wrestle with the pile of parts, trying spell after spell. And Riddle's phantom sat on the side, pointing out words from time to time.

Maybe it was because the scene was so similar to when they used to meet privately in the past.In such an atmosphere, Nora couldn't think of vigilance at all.

How cunning, she thought.

After the second training, Dumbledore suggested that Nora could go to the library and find some books to read.

Nora walked into the first area with Dumbledore's note, holding a bosom full of books on Occlumency—even though she knew she would get sleepy after reading a book, it was always good to have more.

"Hello."

A somewhat familiar brown-haired girl greeted her.

"I'm Hermione Granger," she introduced herself.

"Oh." Nora remembered, "Harry Potter's best friend."

"Uh... so to speak," said Hermione, looking at the book in Nora's arms. "Are you practicing Occlumency?"

"Yes. I think I need more theoretical knowledge...probably..." Nora replied, and all the books fell to the ground accidentally.Hermione waved her wand, and the book levitated.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." Hermione frowned, as if struggling with something, and finally she said, "I met 'you' here, when you were still a..."

"Ghosts," said Nora, shrugging, "but I don't even remember."

She didn't know how many times she repeated this sentence these days, because too many people came to ask this and that. But her ghost is said to be so taciturn that few students and teachers know of her existence.

"You said you forgot the cause of your death," said Hermione, staring at her closely. "Do you remember now?"

"They say it's because of a dangerous spell."

"'They said,' so you have no recollection yourself?"

Nora thought the girl was a tough one.She is so smart.

"Well, I still don't remember," Nora said. "That part is very vague."

"I've heard it's about magic that brings the dead back to life... but I think... I think..." Hermione looked anxious.

"What did you think of?"

"At that time, Voldemort... Tom Riddle and you were still friends, so it is likely that the two of you studied this magic together...or rather, he guided you to 'discover' this magic and go to Try it." The girl said calmly, "I guess it's not a magic that simply brings the dead back to life."

"what do you mean……"

"You were just one of his experiment victims," said Hermione. "Sorry, that might hurt a little. After all, you've always considered him a friend."

Nora didn't feel too sad, and took the books down from the air one by one.

"Actually, they are not very good friends." She said, "and he sacrificed others to satisfy his own desires. He had this tendency when he was a child, and he must have played a lot of tricks behind the teacher's back in school. To say that he It really did, and I'm not too surprised."

"Do you remember? What kind of magic did you study at that time? Even if you have a little impression." Hermione asked eagerly.

"I do not remember."

"Is it about 'time'?"

Nora's hand paused for a moment.

Hermione's eyes were glued tightly to her face, and she asked hopefully, "Did you remember something?"

"No." Nora still shook her head, "I just remembered something else...but it has nothing to do with him."

In the end, Hermione still didn't get a definite answer.

They walked out of the library together.

"Where are you going?" Hermione asked.

"Anywhere," said Nora. She had to admit the fact that she had no friends here, and was stared at like a rare animal every day. Thanks to Slughorn, some students looked at her with anger and disgust.

"I'm going to the Quidditch pitch, Gryffindor team practice today." Hermione said, "Would you like to come together?"
