, watching this wonderful dog continue to be ignored and left out in the cold. "Sorry baby," I said to Isaac, "I know I shouldn't be filming it when it's working, but it's not working now, and it's doing a great job today. It really amazes me, You two make a great team."

Before he could speak, the bus pulled up.I've never been a fan of public transport, but I've never been more happy to see a bus than I am at this moment. It saves me from the bad looks Isaac will undoubtedly show me.

But he didn't.He was sitting on the bus with his head leaning against the window and his eyes closed.

"Are you ok?"

"Well," he hummed softly, "I'm a little tired."

I nodded my understanding.Nothing happened, no yelling, no anger.I got his silent treatment.

fuck it.

When we got back to his house, he still didn't speak.Maybe he was tired, though I doubt it.He took Brady off his leash and gave him fresh food and water while I greeted an exceptionally enthusiastic Missy. When we were done, we met in the kitchen.

"Isaac, I'm sorry if what I said earlier about Brady made you uncomfortable," I started, "but you promised we'd talk about this, remember?"

He shrugged: "I'm suddenly a little tired, let's call it a day."

I didn't buy it. "Isaac—"

He cut me off. "I had a good day," he said dryly, "but I'm tired now."

"Do you want me to run the bathwater for you?"

"No thanks," he said, shaking his head. "But can you help set the alarm while you're away?"

He's giving me an eviction order. No fucking explanation. "You know what?" I said bluntly. "I'm really having a good day. Until now. Until you start another silent cold war."

He turned his head and clenched his jaw.But he didn't say anything.

I'm really pissed at him. "Fine, I'll go right away. But Isaac, you know this," I said, and started to pack my things, "Yes, I love you. But I'm sorry I let you down, because I love you too. Brady. I love him as much as I love Missy. I'm a veterinarian. I love animals. That's my job. And you have one of the smartest, most beautiful dogs I've ever seen." Then I stopped Stopped, the anger in my voice subsided.I sighed, "I know you love Rose, and I have no doubt it's special to you. But you're missing out on what's right in front of you. You're missing Brady, and Isaac, it's really Great."

Isaac turned his back to me.I couldn't see if my words touched him, but I'm sure they had an effect on him.very good.I had to say it, and he had to hear it.

I called Missy, and it ran to me immediately.I guess I just drew a line and now it's up to him to decide. "Isaac, I'll call after get off work on Tuesday," I told him from the front door. "You can tell me if you still want to be with me."
