That Alien Feeling
Chapter 12
Harry is usually a very good-tempered person, but after a month of suffering, he wanted to strangle Sean to death. His feet ached, his legs ached, and he was disgustingly dirty.
"How did I know that this nasty planet is so ridiculously big?"
Harry didn't answer, and walked forward in silence.Although he never aired his displeasure with Sheen, it wasn't the first time that Sheen couldn't help but defend himself.
He needn't have said it—they had been walking for days from Port Grimsby to London.
From Los Angeles to London, they had wasted a whole month trying to figure out how to make the trek, and it was frustrating. To be fair - and Harry didn't want to shirk responsibility - Harry knew he was at fault too: he didn't tell Sean the exact location, thinking that Sean would ask his friends on Tuskers to teleport them directly to London .But Shane naturally didn't think so much. How did Sean know that Los Angeles and London were separated by half the world? And Sean didn't know that without the certificates and currency of the Terrans, it was impossible to move an inch on Earth. He has never been to a similar "pre-TNIT planet", he thought that the Terrans were still stuck in the middle ages or something, and his whole operation was misguided.
Sean hadn't figured out the operational aspects of the whole plan, and Harry wished he had foreseen that.More than once he wished he still had his phone, or at least remembered Adam's number. But he doubted more than once, even if he remembered, would he have the courage to fight over.
"Anyway, we're almost there." Sean flipped through the map in his hand.
"Our parents will kill us," said Harry.
Sean shrugged nonchalantly.
Harry told himself to calm down. They have been on the road for many days, and their fatigue has made them quite irritable.Quarreling is useless.
Sean certainly didn't mind his parents' wrath, though. His parents have always been obedient to him.Sean always figured out a way to smooth them over.
"Kerza will kill us," said Harry.
Sean finally showed a little panic.
It didn't last long though.
"To hell with Keza," Sheen said. "It won't matter when he finds us. I'll barely feel the bond now." He beamed, looking delighted. "My bond with him has never been strong; it won't last long from now on. Anyway, don't worry about it."
"You said it lightly," Harry muttered, looking down.
Sean bumped Harry's shoulder with his shoulder. "Don't think so much, we're all here. Anyway, you didn't enjoy it when you manipulated the consciousness of those people on Earth."
Harry flinched.
"But I did it anyway," he said quietly. He tricked the New Yorkers telepathically and got on board. He felt a pang of conscience.Choosing to sail to England was enough to upset Harry.Since he was going to use telepathy on Earthlings, he'd rather swindle an airplane seat, but Sean insisted that "those outdated things" would fall apart in the air and kill them.
"We have no choice," Sean reminded Harry.
This is the truth.Sean's communicator couldn't make long-distance calls, so they couldn't notify his friends on Tusksai to teleport them to the correct location. They had neither money nor Terran papers.Telepathy is their only option.
But that doesn't mean it's advisable behavior.
"You could have given us a lift to London telepathically," Sheen muttered. "I've never traveled so far in my life."
Harry glared at him.
Sean is not so indifferent, he blushes. "I am just joking!"
"I hate that," said Harry. "I won't do that again."
"It's not a big deal, I'd say," Sheen said. "You didn't hurt anyone. We just evaded the boat. There could have been hundreds more people on that boat."
"It's a matter of principle."
Shane scoffed. "Since when did you pay so much attention to protecting other people's privacy? Didn't you peek into your sister's brain with a kinship connection before? Isn't that why your parents punished you to come to Earth?"
Harry blushed. "I was just curious! And it's different. It's not about privacy, it's about free will. It's not right to manipulate the will of sentient beings to make them do things. You want your mind to be messed with and forced to do things ?"
Sean shuddered. "Er. That's right. Sorry." He stared at Harry for a moment. "You are no longer a first-level sensor. You also noticed it?"
Harry pursed his lips and nodded. "Are you sure your friend won't forget to contact us in three months?"
Sean obviously noticed that he was changing the subject, but he didn't object. "Do you think I'm an idiot, Harry?"
Harry raised his mouth slightly. The ordeal had done him a little good: Sean had gotten used to calling him Harry. They didn't bother to give Sean another name, his real name was earth-like enough.
"No," said Harry. "But I think you are impulsive and a little irresponsible."
"Irresponsible? Me? At least I didn't run away from home because I wanted to meet someone from Earth." Sean had a pointed expression.
Harry avoided his eyes.Of course, Sean was right.Sean had good reasons for coming to Earth - he wanted to get out of an undesirable bond - and Harry's reasons couldn't be justified at all.
He just wants to see Adam.
He missed Adam terribly, the way he had never missed anyone else in all his life.To be honest, the most frustrating thing about wasting this month was not worrying about his parents' anger, but that he hadn't seen Adam for two months. He was already so close to Adam, but was delayed by such a little negligence, it was really depressing to death.
Besides, as time went by, Harry became more and more uncertain. Two months is not a short time. What if... what if Adam didn't want to see him? What if he gets angry?
What if Adam had forgotten him?
"I really want to know what that earthling is like now." Sean said. "I don't understand why you are so clingy to him."
sticky.
Harry imagined clinging to Adam - tight, without a gap - and a sweet pain running through his body.
Only then did he realize that in addition to emotional desires, he also had sexual desires. He blushed.
"He's been nice to me," Harry explained awkwardly. He still couldn't tell Sean the whole truth.Anyway, Sean is a person with a bond, he can't understand.
"Be happy," Sheen said. "Come on, we'll be there before dark."
Harry's heart beat faster at the thought of seeing Adam soon.Adam, he will ask him to explain. This is also understandable.
How should he explain his leaving without saying goodbye? How could he explain where he was going? How should he explain Sean's appearance?
What if Adam didn't even want to hear an explanation?
