Harry Potter: Impossibly Cute
Chapter 16: The Principal's Test
"Yes, Professor Dumbledore, the Malfoy family has been very kind to me."
"Then I heard that you have a good relationship with Mr. Potter. How did you two meet?"
"Harry? My acquaintance with Harry was an accident, but Harry and I have agreed that this is a secret between the two of us. I'm sorry that I can't tell the principal."
"Is that so? It's okay. It's normal for children to have secrets. Don't do such dangerous things next time. Let's go back."
Ling Bai stood up and when he turned around he saw a photo on the wall. It showed a young boy in Quidditch attire hugging a girl in Gryffindor uniform, and they were both smiling happily.
Especially those beautiful green eyes.
Ling Bai stopped instantly and stared at the photo without blinking.
"These are two outstanding graduates of Gryffindor. They later got together. Coincidentally, they are the parents of Potter."
Ling Bai's eyes were fixed on the woman with a beautiful smile, and his fingers gently touched her cheek.
"You both have a pair of beautiful eyes, don't you? I was shocked when I saw them for the first time. Come to think of it, Potter also inherited his mother's eyes. You two were very similar before."
There was some disbelief in Ling Bai's eyes.
"What does this mean, Principal?"
"Child, sometimes what you know may just be lies woven by others, so don't believe them too much."
Ling Bai walked out of Dumbledore's office in silence and ran straight into Snape.
But Ling Bai seemed to have lost his soul, and his beautiful eyes had lost focus.
"What did Dumbledore tell you?"
Snape's heart skipped a beat.
Ling Bai said nothing, but just lowered his head silently, until big, hot tears fell on the back of Snape's hand.
"Damn"
Snape cursed inwardly.
"I'll ask for leave for your afternoon classes. Go back to the dormitory and have a good rest. Don't think about anything. You can't think of anything with your little head."
As soon as Ling Bai left, Snape strode into Dumbledore's room.
"What did you talk to him about?"
"Oh, Snape, don't be so nervous"
"He is only an eleven-year-old child. He doesn't know anything. Why do you want to involve him?"
Dumbledore's expression also became serious, and there was some sadness in his kind eyes.
"We are all helpless. Even if we don't say anything, he won't be implicated. At least tell him now so that the brothers won't have their wands pointed at each other one day."
Snape's body stiffened, and his tall figure became somewhat sluggish.
"I understand, but he is still young."
"I understand. I will tell him in the most tactful way."
Ling Bai walked back to the room slowly, without saying a word the whole time. When the door was closed and he was the only one left in the room, Ling Bai slowly wiped away the remaining tears on his cheeks.
There was no trace of the pitiful look he had just now.
In the cafeteria, everyone gathered together to eat.
“Have some toast.”
Harry was picking at the food in front of him, which made the other two kids anxious.
"Ron is right, you really need to eat more today"
"I'm not hungry"
As he spoke, a black figure walked over from behind the three of them.
"Potter, good luck. You have proven yourself in front of the troll, so this little Quidditch game should not be difficult for you, even though your opponent is Slytherin."
The man's sarcastic voice sounded, and after saying this, he turned and left.
"strangeness"
"What? What's weird about that?"
Hermione was confused when she heard Harry's words.
"I guess Snape released the troll last night to distract everyone, so he had time to get around the dog, but he was bitten. I saw his wound yesterday, but his wound shouldn't have healed so quickly."
"But why would anyone go back and approach the dog?"
"When we were in Gringotts, Hagrid took something from the vault and said it was Hogwarts business, top secret."
"you mean"
"The thing that the dog is guarding, Snape wants"
"But his legs look fine now."
Ron couldn't help but speak.
"Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. Even if it's a magic potion, it can't repair wounds so quickly."
"This is so strange. Who was it that secretly helped us yesterday?"
Just when the three little ones were puzzled, Hedwig flew in with her wings flapping.
The object landed on the table in front of Harry.
“It’s a bit early to send a letter now.”
“But I never received the email.”
"Stop talking and let's open it up"
Ron looked curious.
The three kids opened the package and found a flying broom.
"Wow, Nimbus 2000"
Ron's eyes lit up.
"But who is it?"
Harry's eyes fell on the main seat, where Professor McGonagall was stroking Hedwig's head. The two looked at each other and smiled.
In the waiting room of the Quidditch match, Wood looked at the nervous Harry and smiled.
"Are you scared, Harry?"
Harry nodded honestly.
“It’s okay, I was nervous the first time too.”
“How was your first competition?”
"Uh... I don't remember much. I was hit by a shortstop two minutes into the game and it took me a week to wake up in the hospital."
Harry's eyes widened in horror and he swallowed.
"Where's your friend? I remember his name was Ling Bai. How come he didn't come to the training sessions later?"
"He is often pulled away by Professor Snape to process herbs for him, so he doesn't have much time."
Wood nodded, but there was some regret in his eyes.
The gates were opened and everyone suited up and mounted their brooms.
The commentator in the audience was giving a passionate commentary, and people from every college were cheering for their own college, and Ling Bai was naturally among them.
Snape asked for leave for him, but he couldn't be absent.
There was a chill in the air, and Ling Bai couldn't help but wrap her scarf tighter around her.
"Didn't Professor Snape say you were not feeling well? Why are you here?"
Draco's eyes were full of disapproval.
"Nothing, after all, this is my first time watching Quidditch, I definitely can't miss it."
Draco sighed, like a little adult.
"Okay, but if you feel uncomfortable, you must tell me."
Ling Bai nodded, turned his head to meet Snape's gaze, and smiled.
The game officially began, and Ling Bai's eyes fell on Oliver Wood.
I have to admit that he is a very good goalkeeper.
Ling Bai just watched Wood being knocked off the broom and falling onto the sand and shook his head helplessly.
It seems that I finally understand why people from the other three major colleges don’t like Slytherin very much.
