Harry Potter: Impossibly Cute

Chapter 15: The headache of the century

Ling Bai slept until morning.

"Morning, Draco."

Draco had already washed up. Ling Bai rubbed his head and then he remembered that he seemed to have seen Tom in a daze last night.

Draco snorted lightly, but when he saw Ling Bai rubbing his head, he couldn't help but step forward and ask.

“Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere else?”

Ling Bai shook his head.

"No, I just slept too soundly last night and had a dream. I dreamed that my father came to see me."

Draco had a complicated expression, as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

"What's wrong Draco?"

"That was not a dream, your father really came to see you"

Ling Bai was slightly stunned.

"But why did my father suddenly come to see me?"

"After I found you missing last night, I went to find the class leader. He asked me to go back to the dormitory first. I was worried about you in the dormitory, so I wrote a letter to my father. Maybe my father told your father."

Ling Bai understood, and quickly realized one thing: his sudden disappearance last night was no longer a secret, so someone would definitely come looking for him next, and he had to be prepared.

"So you haven't told me where the hell you went yesterday"

Ling Bai was silent. He could actually lie to Draco, but seeing the worry in the boy's eyes, Ling Bai couldn't say anything.

"Ling Bai, did you go to find Harry? I heard that Harry and Ron killed a troll in the bathroom last night. They couldn't have that ability. Did you help them?"

Draco became more and more excited as he spoke, and his eyes became red.

"Draco, I..."

"I don't understand, what's so good about that Potter? It turns out that the Potter family is just annoying."

As Draco spoke, he reached out to wipe his tears to prevent them from falling because he felt it was too embarrassing.

"Draco, I don't know how to explain this to you, but..."

"Don't you know how to explain? You don't care about me at all. If it was me in the bathroom, would you save me?"

Ling Bai had no choice but to hug Draco.

"I will, Draco. I help Harry because I have reasons to help him, but in my heart you are the most important friend."

When Draco heard this, his tears stopped immediately. He just sobbed and stared at Ling Bai without blinking.

"Really? You didn't lie to me."

Ling Bai nodded seriously.

"If Harry Potter and I are in danger at the same time, who will you help first?"

Ling Bai was helpless for a moment. What kind of question was this?

Even if we were to change the world, the fatal question of who would you save first if your mother and I fell into the river at the same time would still exist.

"Why are you silent again? You were just trying to coax me, right?"

"Draco, I won't let this happen. Harry can't die, and I won't let you get hurt."

Draco's energy was obviously weakened a lot, but he still didn't give up.

"Why exactly? You and Harry Potter are not that familiar with each other."

"Draco, I have a reason that I have to give. I can't tell you for now because I'm not sure yet. Once I'm sure, I'll tell you as soon as I can, okay?"

"Really? Tell me right away."

Ling Bai nodded seriously.

"Okay, I'll forgive you, but you can't do this next time. At least take me with you."

"Okay, but Draco, don't tell anyone except the two of us that I'm going to see Harry, okay?"

Draco hesitated for a moment, but finally nodded in agreement.

As Ling Bai expected, after class, Snape called Ling Bai.

"I heard that everyone went back to the dormitory last night, but you were missing. Where did you go?"

Ling Bai looked at Snape's healthy leg and his obviously changed skin and knew that Snape must have used his medicine.

"The professor's skin has been looking good lately, and he seems to be in a good mood."

Snape was stunned for a moment, his expression a little strange, as if he was embarrassed and at a loss.

"Answer my question, Gunter-san."

"Professor, when I arrived at the door of the dormitory, I found that my wand was lost in the church. Professor, you should know how important the wand is to wizards, so I had to go back to get it."

"Professor, don't you believe it? Well, it's normal that you don't believe it. But when I was about to come back, I met Filch and his cat. Professor, you can go and ask him."

Ling Bai's expression was so innocent that Snape didn't see any signs of lying. Besides, everyone knew Filch's strange temper and strictness on school rules. There was no way he would lie.

But Snape just felt something was wrong.

"After getting the wand, did you go back to the dormitory?"

"Yes Professor"

There's no point in telling me this. It was Headmaster Dumbledore who asked you to go.

Ling Bai's expression was slightly stunned, and then his expression instantly became uneasy.

"Is this considered a violation of school rules? Will Headmaster Dumbledore deduct points?"

"Who knows? Follow me."

After saying this, Snape waved his robe and left first.

The two came to Dumbledore's office, where Dumbledore was teasing Fawkes.

"Oh, hi, Gunter, you're finally here, please take a seat."

Ling Bai sat down a little awkwardly, perfectly expressing the fear and uneasiness of a student seeing the principal.

"Don't be nervous, would you like a chocolate ball?"

"No, thanks"

Ling Bai politely refused, and Dumbledore shook his head with some regret.

The first thing Dumbledore did after he sat down was to stare at Ling Bai, or to be more precise, he stared into his eyes.

“It’s so similar”

"what?"

"Nothing, Gunter. I came here to talk to you about why you didn't go back to the dormitory with everyone last night. I also wanted to ask you some other small questions."

"Principal Dumbledore, I was away last night because I went back to look for my wand, which I left in the church."

Ling Bai repeated what he had just said to Snape.

"I see. I believe in Gunter-san, but you have to be careful next time something like this happens."

Ling Bai nodded.

"Then I might want to ask Gunter a more private question. What kind of people are Gunter's parents? Oh, I don't mean anything else, it's just that the Gunter family hasn't appeared for a long time. The last person I knew with the last name of Gunter was many years ago."

"I'm sorry, Headmaster Dumbledore. My memory of my parents is very vague. As far as I can remember, I lived in the Malfoy family when I was very young. Uncle Lucius said that my parents disappeared after entrusting me to him, so I don't even know what my parents look like."

The delicate, doll-like little girl in front of him showed disappointment and sadness in her eyes, which made Dumbledore feel a little soft-hearted.

"Oh, my dear child, I am sorry to bring up your sad story. No wonder you have such a good relationship with Malfoy."
