Hogwarts lazy snake

Chapter 220 Horn and the Basilisk

Horn stepped steadily into the mysterious and deep secret room. The decayed and ancient atmosphere in the secret room was like a thick curtain, wrapping him tightly.

In the darkness, the flickering candles are the only source of light. The jumping flames seem to be pulled by a mysterious force, and the halo flickers, illuminating the surrounding walls covered with moss and patterns.

The stone pavement beneath his feet was bumpy and uneven, with dents and cracks carved on it by the years. Every time Horn moved forward, it seemed as if he was stepping on the echoes of history, which echoed slowly in the empty corridor and caused the dust in the dark to fall.

As he got closer, his figure was gradually clearly outlined by the candlelight. The light climbed and jumped along the contours of his body and snake tail, illuminating his flowing black and red hair. His hair seemed like flowing magma blending with the dark night, dancing lightly in the wind, showing his unruly demeanor.

The two ferocious red horns on the forehead looked like burning devil's flames under the candlelight, flashing a cold and captivating luster.

His face was stern, and his eyes were like deep cold pools, hiding endless mysteries. The unique aura emanating from his body was like a materialized wave, surging and spreading in all directions.

At this moment, the basilisk lurking in the pool beside the ancient altar covered with moss and mysterious runes at the end of the secret room was raising its head alertly.

Its body was as huge as a mountain, its scales were as hard as black iron, and they shone coldly in the dim light. However, its once majestic appearance now looked a bit dishevelled - one of its eyes was blind.

The hideous wound at the eye socket was like a ravine tearing through the dark night, with jagged edges, and the rolled flesh was a strange purple-blue color, with dried dark green blood winding down the cheek.

They all told of the brutal and fierce battles they had experienced. Judging from the shape and depth of the wounds, they must have been injured by some extremely sharp weapon containing tremendous magical power.

At first, the basilisk only captured Horn's blurry figure with its one eye, and its instinctive cruelty and alertness were instantly ignited. It spit out its tongue, and every time the tongue shook violently, it was like a black lightning flashing through the void, and the hissing sound caused visible ripples in the surrounding air.

The poisonous fog that permeated the surroundings was like a ferocious ghost, drifting slowly and wantonly eroding everything around it, as if it wanted to defend its own territory and resist the uninvited guest.

However, as Horn stepped step by step into the core area illuminated by candlelight, his figure became clearer and the light dispelled the hazy shadows in the basilisk's eyes.

When Horn's complete appearance was clearly presented before the basilisk's eyes, its only remaining vertical pupil suddenly shrank, and the originally blazing fire of killing seemed to be poured with a basin of cold water, instantly dimming and extinguishing, replaced by deep awe and throbbing.

There seemed to be a mysterious command shouting from deep within the soul, driving it to submit to the person in front of it.

The moment it saw Horn's human body and snake tail, its expression suddenly became extremely complicated, and a hint of familiarity flashed in its eyes, as if a long-forgotten memory was quietly pried open.

Then, its proud head slowly lowered involuntarily, and its sturdy body like a mountain crouched on the ground. Every trembling breath seemed to be paying the most humble respect to Horn.

The poisonous fog also quietly converged and no longer spread wantonly. Only its huge body remained trembling slightly in the darkness, waiting for Horn's next instruction.

It is like a loyal guard facing the returning monarch, or like a confused believer waiting for the revelation of fate.

Horn saw the movements of the basilisk in front of him, but he did not move at all, as if the basilisk's actions were normal, and instead looked towards the huge stone head in front of him.

It was an old, monkey-like face, with a long, sparse beard that almost reached the hem of the wizard's robe carved from stone, and two large, gray feet standing on the floor of the room.

What a bad taste!

Horn couldn't help but think of this word, because in the books he had read, Salazar Slytherin was described as a cool, handsome guy with medium-long hair, about 1.9 meters tall.

Even though Salazar Slytherin left Hogwarts for some reason, he was not very old. How could he be as old and ugly as the stone sculpture in front of him.

Then Horn felt someone behind him entering the entrance of the secret room, and mist began to condense around him, wrapping around Horn.

As footsteps were heard, the smoke cleared and Horn's figure could no longer be seen.

Harry Potter walked into the Chamber of Secrets at this time, with doubts in his eyes with a hint of red. Just now, he saw that the door and entrance of the Chamber of Secrets were open from outside, and he wanted to come in to see if Tom was planning something again.

It turned out that there seemed to be no one in the Chamber of Secrets. I thought Tom asked the girl named Hermione to do something, but it turned out that he didn't.

What surprised Harry the most was that the basilisk in front of him looked submissive and obedient, and then Harry walked to the basilisk's head.

The basilisk was still wondering why Horn suddenly disappeared, but the feeling on its body told it that Horn was nearby and had not disappeared or left.

He was also very curious about how this food, which he had seen twice, appeared in front of him again, and he couldn't help licking his teeth.

Ron and Neville, who had been following Harry through the back door to see what was going on, saw that Harry was very close to the monster in the Chamber of Secrets, and it looked like it was going to eat Harry.

Ron and Neville's hearts instantly rose to their throats. Ron's eyes widened and he almost screamed out. He quickly covered his mouth with his hand to prevent the scream from breaking through his throat.

Originally, the two were very curious why there was such a scary place in Hogwarts and why it was not shown on the Marauder's Map.

However, when they saw the basilisk that almost took their lives just now, they realized that this should be Slightly's mysterious secret room.

His arms were shaking slightly because of nervousness, and his hands that were holding Neville's clothes were clenched so tightly that his fingertips turned white.

Neville's face was also filled with fear. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead and hit the stone slabs under his feet, splashing up fine dust. He subconsciously clenched his wand in his hand, but because of excessive tension, his arm seemed to weigh a thousand pounds, and he couldn't lift it or put it down.

"Harry, back off!"

Ron lowered his voice and squeezed out these few words from between his teeth. His voice was full of anxiety and trembling, but the deep silence of the secret room made the shout seem to be absorbed by an invisible sponge and dissipated before it spread far.

Harry heard a noise behind him and looked over to see Ron and Neville.

Horn, who was hiding nearby, noticed something was wrong with Harry the moment he saw him.

Then he saw two people not far away. Horn couldn't help but look at the basilisk that was looking for him, and gave an order.

Hoo~ho~

The basilisk, which was originally lying on the ground without any aggressiveness, suddenly stood up its huge body and shouted at Harry, while at the same time, it rushed towards Harry in an attacking state.

"Harry, be careful!"

bang~
