Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 94 What I missed
"So you recruited a fifteen year old boy to join the Avengers?"
Iron Man said helplessly: "What's the problem with this? This kid has potential. He voluntarily chose to be a hero, and none of us told him to do so. That's why he was chosen. Why do people think I have ulterior motives? I even gave him a new suit so that he won't make any of the mistakes we made in the past. How is this considered irresponsible?"
In the conference room of the Avengers headquarters, everyone present remained silent after Iron Man finished speaking.
Matt Murdock sat to the left of Iron Man, his hand running over a braille lawsuit he was working on. Hawkeye sat across from the lawyer, his legs propped up on the table, a book in his hands. Hank Pym was sifting through a data pad, looking over some of his research. Peter Parker sat closest to Iron Man, and despite his silence, he really felt out of place right now.
"Do you feel better now?" Hawkeye asked after a long silence.
"In a way, the only time I really feel better is when I'm with Pep, but she's not here right now," Iron Man said.
Matt spoke up: "Now in addition to Mr. Parker's problem, there is also Ulysses Klaue's matter in Manhattan."
"How did someone like this get into the United States so easily?" Hank asked, frowning as he recalled the illegal trade that Crow specialized in.
"In this day and age, it's no surprise that a guy like him can get around so easily, considering the business he's in. There are people all over the world who would give up an arm and a leg for his rare product," Hawkeye said.
"What is he selling?" Daredevil asked.
Hawkeye recalls a conversation he had with Iron Man a few months ago and says, "The rarest metal on Earth - Vibranium. The same metal that Captain America's shield is made of, and it's virtually indestructible."
Daredevil frowned and said, "And this Klaw is now in Manhattan with this rare metal, hoping to sell it to the highest bidder."
Iron Man and Pym both stared at the blind lawyer with half-lidded eyes as the man continued to run his finger over his braille.
It was a very eventful time. Iron Man sighed and shook his head. He looked at Peter who was fidgeting and asked, "What's wrong, kid? Is there something biting you?"
The young hero looked up, "Oh, uh, nothing much, Mr. Stark."
"you sure?"
"Yeah..." Peter Parker paused for a moment, then looked sheepish, "Uh, I really need to get home...homework..."
Hawkeye's face was full of surprise, Daredevil smiled at Peter's words, even Hank shook his head in amusement, and Iron Man stared at the high school student blankly, then rolled his eyes and said unhappily: "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear you say that."
Daredevil joked, "Mr. Stark, those of us who are older must not hinder Mr. Parker's education. After all, young people are the future of this country and the world."
Iron Man said sarcastically, "Well, since you two can't be away from home for more than an hour."
Soon, Peter and Matt were sitting in the back seat of a self-driving car.
There was a slightly awkward silence between the two of them, Peter drumming his fingers on his knee as he turned his face toward the window.
"Mr. Parker," Matt Murdock said suddenly, "could you stop banging your hands on your knees? It's a bit noisy for me."
Peter blinked, looked down at his hands, then looked back at the blind lawyer and asked in surprise, "Wait, can you hear me tapping?"
Matt replied cryptically, "I can hear a lot of things. I can hear your stomach digesting the quesadilla you ate at Avengers HQ, the cars driving on the highway a few miles ahead, and that fly that just flew past the driver's window."
Peter stared at Matt in silence with wide eyes as his brain processed what the lawyer had just described.
"That's... wow, so you have super advanced senses?" Peter asked excitedly.
Matt frowned at the teen's change in demeanor, "Yeah…it makes up for my blindness."
"Wow, that's awesome," Peter praised. "I had a similar experience, but it was really weird, I mean, I could hear and see everything at the same time, but man—"
"It was overwhelming at first?" Matt said to Peter in a knowing tone.
"Yeah, it was weird the first few days," Peter recalled of when he first gained his powers. "Everything was hitting me at the same time. It was trippy."
Matt pointed to his ruby glasses and whispered, "I know this feeling. I had the same reaction when I was blind. I couldn't even sleep well. All I "felt" was everything around me."
Peter leaned back in his seat and said happily, "Maybe this is a good thing? All of us superpowered guys are united."
Matt frowned at the question, although he was a slightly pessimistic person, he was not one to simply suppress negativity for the sake of negativity, on the contrary, he liked to deal with those positive and sunny people, which was why Foggy Nelson was his best friend.
Finally, Matt nodded, "That's a good idea."
Peter looked at Matt's serious expression, but felt a little embarrassed, "I uh... I was just kidding... You - you know -"
Matt nodded at the high school student, a familiar feeling coming over him, "So, I remember you were from Queens, right?"
As the two New Yorkers begin to develop a connection, at Avengers Headquarters, Hank Pym is once again working tirelessly in the lab to better understand the circumstances that led to the Avengers' disappearance.
However, one thing came to his mind, something he had discovered recently and a problem that had been bothering him.
Hank has seen many videos of Hydra scientists conducting experiments, and he was still watching that video when Iron Man walked in.
Iron Man jokingly said, "I don't know what this means to you, Hank...but have you ever considered taking a break? Because the number of rings around your eyes would make Saturn jealous."
"Good humor as always, Stark," Pym said coolly, his eyes never leaving his gaze fixed on the video in his hands.
Iron Man asked, "Pym, what are you looking for? What might we have missed? But I've read this material a dozen times, and I'm sure I haven't missed anything."
"You're sure, right?" Hank asked. "Can you explain to me what this is?"
Hank held up the tablet, showing a graph of fluctuating wavelengths.
Iron Man asked in confusion, "This is the remaining energy of the base. What's wrong? Is there a problem?"
Hank muttered, "I've noticed a few odd things. First, not only has the energy not subsided, but it's spiked several times since they disappeared. You're missing something. We're all missing something important."
Iron Man crossed his arms, thinking about what Hank said, "Well, what do you think we missed?"
“Things we don’t fully understand,” Hanke said. “These energy readings, I try to match them up with quantum fluctuations and so on, and there’s some connection, but it’s completely different.”
"So what? Are you saying Hydra is working on something new?"
"Maybe." Hank looked down at the tablet. "There may be more at the foot of that mountain than we initially discovered."
Iron Man asked, "More hidden equipment and technology? Do you mean we need to go to that base in Eastern Europe again?"
"I couldn't agree more, Stark," Hank said.
Iron Man smiled and said, "Oh? Are you suddenly interested in adventure?"
“I recognize that in this case, it’s not enough to just stay in one place and do research; it requires a more hands-on approach.”
"So, when do you want to go?"
"The sooner the better."
“Friday, make a list of the tools and equipment we’ll need.”
