Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

Chapter 428: The Passionate Duchess of Satine

Satine stood alone in the hall, her guards having been given the day off by her, and the desk removed from the room.

The Duchess looked out over the capital from the window farthest from the throne, a melancholy expression on her face.

"I haven't seen anything like this in years." This statement sometimes made her nervous, but her love was unrequited.

“These hard times have been forcing them away from me. It’s been a bit of an understatement,” Sardin said. “You just don’t see it that much when you’re around.”

"I'm sorry, Duchess. Please forgive this Jedi Knight for his crime of not being able to gaze upon your beauty as you wished.

The blond Mandalorian ruler shook her head, a serene smile on her face, and turned to the man she had called.

She still loved the Jedi with all her heart.

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"If you think flattery will work with me, my dear Obi-Wan, then you'll have to try harder than this. She teased, giving him a false smug smile.

"Oh god, I must have lost my touch." Kenobi said, holding a hand to his chest in fake heartache. "Usually, I leave women bewildered by my compliments."

She glared at him playfully at that. "Oh? Isn't it special that I'm getting this treatment?

"Perhaps not," Obi-Wan said obediently. "There's an entire galaxy out there that has yet to experience my charms. Who am I to deprive them of the chance to be truly wooed by you?

Satine scoffed. “What would your Master Qui-Gon say? Didn’t he tell you that your mouth is as responsible for getting you into trouble as it is for getting you out of it?”

"All the traits and lessons I learned from him," Kenobi said, his tone tinged with pride.

"Master Kenobi, I seem to detect that kind of pride in your voice." The Duchess asked disapprovingly. "This is the immorality of the Jedi Knight."

"I believe you mistake my statement of fact for false pride," the bearded Jedi countered affirmatively.

Satine raised her head and looked away from him.

He just smiled, shook his head slightly, and walked over to stand next to her.

Neither of them spoke until the Jedi Council member broke the silence.

"Duchess, would you like to speak to me alone?" he asked kindly.

"Yes," she stammered. "I did. I just... I wanted to see you alone. Just the two of us."

"doing what?"

The ruler of Mandalore now bowed his head and clasped his hands.

"I just...I just wanted to see you. To be with you again. Without all the troubles of the galaxy weighing on our shoulders. She whispered.

The Jedi realized what she wanted but chose to remain silent.

"Obi-Wan." Satine turned to him, a look of longing in her eyes. "I told you that when I was held in the blast point by Merrick, I loved you with all my heart. I always have, and I always will. Do you remember?

Kenobi glanced down at the ground, thinking back to that day.

"Yes, I remember," he murmured.

She stepped forward until she was within arm's length of him. "Tell me you'll help me if I need it."

The Jedi Master couldn't find his voice to respond as she was getting closer now.

"If I ask you now..." Satine reached out to him and placed her hand on his cheek, gently lifting his head so that she looked into his eyes. "If I asked you to stay with me right now, would you?"

He couldn't tell the answer, but his eyes told it all for the Duchess.

"I see," she whispered, disappointed and heartbroken.

Kenobi's own heart clenched at the broken tone of her voice.

She turned to leave, but he instinctively reached out and grabbed her wrist.

Satine stopped and turned around slowly, with hope in her eyes.

"Satine...I..." Obi-Wan searched for the right way to respond but ultimately remained silent, releasing her hand.

Sadin just sighed, “I know… to this day, I still wonder what it would be like if that happened.

"I'm sorry, Satine," the Jedi said calmly.

She gave him a pained smile. "I know, my love. I know.

Without warning, she threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly while trembling.

Obi-Wan was of course caught off guard by the action, but he made no move as he felt Satine tremble as she held him tightly.

He heard a sob and looked down to see tears streaming down Satine's cheeks, and his heart was torn at the sight.

Without any prompting, Obi-Wan wrapped his arms around the woman he had fallen in love with all those years ago and held her close.

The Jedi Master felt her grip on him tight, almost desperately, as he could sense a dampness in his robes.

"I am afraid, Obi-Wan," she whispered, her voice almost breaking. "You and I saw the destruction of my people in our youth, and I wanted to make sure it would never happen to my people again. But now, not only is it still happening. I...I have failed my people.

"No." Kenobi said firmly without hesitation. "You did not, Satine. I know how this makes you feel, how it torments you, but you have done what few leaders in the history of this galaxy have been willing to do. You have set aside your beliefs, your pride, and what you wished to stand for in order to guarantee the safety, security, and freedom of your people. You have done all of this to ensure that your people could have a tomorrow of their own.

She pulled away slightly to look into his eyes to see if there was any falsehood or embellishment and found an endless sincerity in his gaze.

"Oh, Obi-Wan," she whispered, cursing their situation and pulling him close for a deep, passionate kiss that nearly silenced the Jedi Master.

After a few seconds, Kenobi felt his resolve break and quickly returned the hug, the two former lovers locked in a tight embrace.

After several minutes of intense fighting, they were panting.

Satine blushed but had a glow around her as she gave the Jedi a sexy smile, who simply looked down in shame at his loss of control but did nothing to pull himself away from her.

She continued to smile, holding his face in her hands, caressing his beard and cheek affectionately, then she put her arms around his neck and rested her head on his chest.

Obi-Wan simply placed his hands on her waist and held them there, resting his head gently against hers.

"No matter how hard I try to stay away from it, my heart will always belong only to you, my love," Sardin said calmly. "Now and forever."

Though he didn't say it out loud, Kenobi could never truly deny it as much as he wanted to.

"You will always have my heart," he said to himself mentally as the two of them just enjoyed their embrace and did nothing else.
