HP Shavings Wizard

Chapter 41 Bickering

Hearing this, Alison's expression relaxed slightly.

Then, she decisively pushed the bowl towards the smiling Grindelwald, staring at her old father, making no secret of her desire to let people taste the food.

Grindelwald raised an eyebrow but didn't refuse, poking the cake with his fork.

"It seems our little warrior doesn't trust the food here."

He smiled and took a bite.

Alison watched his expression.

Grindelwald smacked his lips exaggeratedly, trying to keep Alison in suspense and act mysterious.

"Hmm... this taste is really... special."

Dumbledore shook his head helplessly: "Gellert, stop teasing her."

Bathilda was also helpless: "Alison, dear, this is just an ordinary dessert. No one would poison food."

Grindelwald finally smiled. "I'm just kidding, Alison. This cake tastes good and very refreshing. You should try it."

Alison then confidently used the Cutting Charm and the Levitation Charm to take a piece of cake, explaining to Bathilda while performing the spells.

"It's okay if it's poisoned, I carry the antidote with me. What if it's a trick or something with a weird taste? Like Bibi's Every Flavour Beans, Pepper Pussy or something like that..."

Dumbledore blinked and said, "Alison, you are very thoughtful. However, I don't think the chef of this restaurant would entertain guests in that way."

Alison took a small bite of the cake and felt it was not bad. After hearing this, she looked up and stared at the group of adults calmly.

"…but I don't think you awful adults would miss the chance to make fun of me."

Grindelwald laughed. "You doubt us?"

Alison was somewhat puzzled as to how this happy and wild old man had no self-awareness.

"Aren't you the most suspicious person here?"

Bathilda covered her mouth and chuckled.

Alison ate her cake, staring at them with a calm but accusing look, and spoke vaguely as she brought up the matter.

"Don't think I forgot. You just told me together that sorting is about swimming with giant squids, riding broomsticks through the forbidden forest, and dueling with the Whomping Willow..."

Dumbledore blinked again innocently and playfully, not looking guilty at all.

Grindelwald shrugged and said with his clever silver tongue, "We are only stretching your imagination."

Alison doesn't have a temper towards her gentle and lovely father, and even has a thick soft light filter through her eyes, but it's different towards her father who has an equally bad temper.

She seemed to have found an outlet to vent her anger, sneering and saying, "My imagination is already rich enough! If you continue to expand it, I might be expelled at a young age like you and become a layoff!"

Dumbledore couldn't help laughing.

Grindelwald tapped her forehead and said, "How rude of you, little girl."

Alison deadpanned, "That's really unkind behavior, old man."

Bathilda was also laughing so hard at their bickering.

Dumbledore had laughed enough and calmed himself down, because this childish quarrel subconsciously brought some leniency to the children, even though one of them was his old lover who was only two years younger than him.

"Okay, both of you, put your little paws away."

Alison snorted, gave a truce for the sake of face, and ate the cake obediently.

Grindelwald also shut up and concentrated on eating.

Yorkshire pudding is a food similar to fried dough, but it is served hot with roast beef, barbecue sauce and mashed potatoes. It tastes quite good and is full of aroma.

The roast beef was also very delicious, the meat was so tender and juicy that Alison could hardly stop eating it.

The portions of dishes in this restaurant are quite large, and there were three elderly people and one child, and none of them had big appetites, so what we ordered was enough.

Alison secretly saw someone eating the glowing stew, and found nothing strange about it, so she cautiously served herself a little.

The colors of this thing kept changing, like a magic show or the neon lights in a city at night. It really didn't look like anything delicious.

She took a small sip cautiously.

The taste was a little spicy, but very layered and seemed to include a variety of vegetables and spices.

It didn't taste like anything she had eaten in the past, a little strange, but not terrible.

The sweet and smooth pumpkin juice washed away the strange feeling. Alison drank it all in one gulp, and was satisfied with her meal.

The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and pleasant, with waiters coming and going, serving a variety of food and drinks.

The adults were mostly drinking butterbeer and chatting, and Alison also took a sip of non-alcoholic butterbeer.

Dumbledore noticed.

When there was a little wizard, he always paid some attention to him.

"Alison, are you still used to it?"

Alison looked at this national drink of the British wizarding world with curiosity. Many young wizards would go to the Three Broomsticks to drink this after leaving school during Hogsmeade week. It was considered a traditional culture.

“…butter sparkling water, with sugar added.”

Bathilda smiled kindly, "The children love to drink this."

Alison looked at them furtively, trying to find an opportunity to steal a drink from someone's glass.

Dumbledore chuckled and turned her face away: "Don't be naughty, little one."

Then he went on to discuss some complicated topics with Bathilda and Gellert, some boring questions about the history and current situation of the wizarding world.

To Alison it was boring, to say the least.

Worrying about the country and the people while eating lunch will give her indigestion.

It wasn't until they finished lunch and left the restaurant, preparing to head to Hogsmeade, that Alison perked up slightly.

Alison followed them obediently, chirping animatedly, "Aside from Honeydukes, are there any other snack shops in Hogsmeade?"

Grindelwald raised an eyebrow: "How many snacks do you want to bring into school?"

Alison said confidently: "At least put it in a sack."

After hearing this, Dumbledore smiled at the greedy little wizard and reminded him: "Your teeth will get rotten."

Alison said nonchalantly, "Take it with the tooth-healthy potion! Isn't potion for times like this?"

The adults looked at each other helplessly.

As an educator, Dumbledore tried to persuade the rebellious little witch, although he had never been successful before.

"I think you should still consider your dental health."

Alison was surprised: "How can you, a Dumbledore who likes sweets, say such a thing... Bee is an Old English surname, so the whole family should be fond of sweets, right?"

Alison is also half Dumbledore, and she is very confident.

Grindelwald couldn't help laughing out loud. He knew how much Albus loved sweets, and now he had no confidence in convincing the child.

At this question, Dumbledore coughed twice in embarrassment: "Well... maybe it's because I often eat sweets, so I pay more attention to the health of my teeth."

Alison glanced at him and didn't say that most of the snacks she was going to buy were intended to be given to him later.

"If you have money anyway, there's no harm in buying more. After all, you still need to socialize at school."
