HP Shavings Wizard
Chapter 10 Thoughts
Grindelwald smiled and stroked his wand: "It seems that our little Alison is becoming more and more like Albus."
Alison paused for a moment, her expression somewhat bewildered: "…are they similar? I thought he was always the type of person who knew everything, said nothing, and just made plans."
Grindelwald seemed to recall something, with a hint of nostalgia in his eyes: "Indeed, he is as busy as a bee, always taking care of everyone tirelessly."
Alison frowned and commented critically on this behavior: "That sounds terrible, like free babysitting."
Grindelwald laughed and ruffled her hair.
"That's not the case. At least he enjoys it."
The dim candlelight did not make Alison feel peaceful, but rather a little upset. She leaned hard against the sofa, trying hard to immerse herself in it.
"Muggle psychology calls this a dedicated personality: helpful, considerate, sympathetic and responsible, optimistic...but often ignores and suppresses their own needs."
Grindelwald laughed: "...Albus is not a Muggle."
"But he's human," Alison retorted softly. It was only a whisper, but it sounded a little loud in the quiet night.
Grindelwald paused, his expression somewhat complicated.
Alison's expression was mocking and sarcastic, and she felt like there was a fire burning in her heart. "Ha! Saint Dumbledore... I feel like you weren't the only one locked up back then. Don't you think Hogwarts is also like a huge prison?"
Grindelwald was silent for a moment before he spoke slowly.
"…At least, Albus won't be so lonely at Hogwarts."
Alison lowered her eyes, looking gloomy: "...It depends on how you understand loneliness...In my opinion, we are the same kind."
Grindelwald looked at the small photo in the journal and said nothing for a long time.
The room was quiet for a while.
The night was so late that the birdsong outside had quieted down.
Alison half-seriously half-jokingly said: "…At least when I tell a funny joke, I won't be treated as a lunatic, right?"
Grindelwald was slightly stunned and said softly: "...You are very smart."
Alison leaned against him lazily, "Maybe just lonely?"
Grindelwald said nothing, but just reached out and held her in his arms.
The father and daughter snuggled together in silence, and the two dark wizards showed rare patience and tenderness towards each other late at night.
After a long while, Grindelwald finally spoke: "...You are very similar, but you are fundamentally different."
Alison tilted her head slightly to look at him curiously.
"Essence? Do you mean the sense of responsibility, or the arrogance of not treating people as human beings?"
Grindelwald paused and explained softly: "…Albus's arrogance is towards himself."
"Do you take it for granted that you are the strong one and should take care of the weak and protect Hogwarts and the British wizarding world?" Alison immediately understood what he meant.
Grindelwald did not refute and agreed.
Alison sneered: "I don't think this behavior makes sense... The Muggle world's research on biology believes that: natural selection, the fittest survive."
This Muggle theory was too barbaric, and Grindelwald frowned slightly.
Alison blinked, her tone wanton and willful: "There will always be people he can't protect, right? Everyone lives for the first time, why give in to others... Magic is power, and the strong should rule over everything."
She poked the cute Dumbledore pillow beside her, and the soft fabric sank and then bounced back.
Grindelwald retorted in a low voice: "…But humans are not beasts. If everyone thinks this way, the world will end."
"But I think humans are also a kind of animal. We are no nobler than anyone else. In fact, compared to those straightforward and wise instincts, some human disguises and entanglements are even more stupid."
Alison stared at the flickering yellow candle flame with a nonchalant look on her face. There was a hint of seduction in her eyes that she inherited from Grindelwald.
"…One of the reasons why I have no sense of responsibility for wizards is that I don't want to work hard for a race that has made little progress, is unaware of danger, and doesn't know how to struggle and save itself… It's unnecessary. Only the fittest will survive, and those who can't compete will be eliminated."
Grindelwald said nothing, but just looked down at her and sighed imperceptibly.
Alison lazily leaned in his arms, chuckled and asked, pressing step by step: "…Muggles have developed from eating raw meat and drinking blood to today's guns and cannons with their wisdom, so have wizards made any obvious progress?"
Grindelwald lowered his eyes and said in a low voice: "…the wizard's magic is already powerful enough."
Alison looked at him with a smile, her bright and sharp eyes seemed to be able to see through people's hearts: "If you really believed that, you wouldn't have started the war... You felt threatened by the Muggle world... People don't care about ants."
Grindelwald said nothing, but just looked at her deeply.
Alison fiddled with his sleeves casually, as if she was very interested in his skinny, old hands. "Instead of staring at the Muggles and constantly trying to suppress them to catch up with our civilization, why not change your thinking and find a way to develop and evolve magic? Combine it with technology? Or is there any way to increase magic power and lifespan?"
Grindelwald was stunned for a moment, then suddenly smiled: "...Albus will be happy to hear your suggestion."
Even though Alison didn't agree with their ideas, she still had her own way to go. A young and lonely genius, just like them in the past, easily stirred up the whole world.
"You're not happy?" Alison looked up at his expression, somewhat puzzled by this statement.
Grindelwald curled his lips: "...with great pleasure."
After getting the expected answer, Alison resumed her lazy attitude: "Unfortunately, I only like to encourage others, but don't want to trouble myself at all..."
Grindelwald lowered his head and rubbed her cheek affectionately. Alison rubbed back coquettishly.
A voice with some laughter sounded: "...little bastard."
After hearing this, Alison narrowed her eyes dangerously, ready to fight back. She showed an innocent and evil smile on her face, and the devil whispered: "...I am a pessimist in some ways...Do you know? In the history of the Muggle world, when Europe discovered America, it chose to colonize and cut off the scalps of the local Indians to wear as shoes."
Grindelwald paused for a moment, and a dark light flashed in his eyes.
Alison smiled like a little devil, with a wicked and meaningful smile: "Guess? If the existence of wizards is really widely known to Muggles, will they covet those abilities of longevity and magical powers, and try to use technology to analyze them by any means..."
Grindelwald didn't say anything, but his eyes darkened and he tightened his arms around her.
A smile of pleasure and evil flashed across Alison's eyes. She thought that this kind of teasing of her old father and bewitching people was quite interesting. She obviously inherited his words and deeds, but she could use them to control him in turn.
