Hogwarts: I am the White Lord

Chapter 243 The Professor's Patronus is So Cool

In the dueling hall, Neville Longbottom stood in a corner, holding his wand tightly in both hands, with beads of sweat on his forehead.

He had been trying desperately since hearing the professor's instructions, but no matter how hard he concentrated, trying to recall his happiest moments, the tip of his wand only flickered a faint light at best.

Silvery white smoke?

Not even a shadow appeared!

Neville's face became increasingly gloomy, and his eyes were filled with anxiety.

He stole a glance at his classmates and saw Percy's lively weasel running happily on the ground.

Cedric's sheep are lovely and charming,

The twin magpies are lively and agile.

And the graceful stag that Harry had just summoned was making him increasingly frustrated.

Why can’t I do it well?

Is it because the Patronus Charm is too difficult, or is it because I am too stupid?

Neville's heart was filled with frustration, he had never thought that he could release a physical patronus in an instant like those geniuses.

He only hoped that he could release silvery white smoke from the tip of his wand like most of his classmates.

Unfortunately, he found that after working hard for a long time, the results were almost the same as those of some second-grade classmates. Although no one said anything, it dealt a serious blow to his self-esteem.

"Don't be anxious, don't be anxious," Neville muttered to himself, "I'm always much slower than others in learning spells."

"But as long as you don't give up and practice more, you will eventually learn it."

Neville silently encouraged himself, then gritted his teeth and raised his wand again.

"Call the gods to protect you."

He tried hard to recall those happy memories in his mind, whether they were memories of family gatherings or warm moments in Hogwarts, but it seemed that he could not find the strength to summon the Patronus.

The tip of his wand still emitted a faint white light, with no change from before.

Just then, he felt someone put a hand on his shoulder.

"Mr. Longbottom, I noticed that you have been frowning. Have you encountered any problems?"

The sudden sound made Neville shudder violently, and his wand almost slipped from his hand.

His face turned visibly paler, and he seemed frozen with fear.

He turned around trembling, his eyes full of panic, and stammered: "I'm sorry, professor, I... I didn't do it... I..."

His voice became lower and lower, as if he was afraid of being blamed again.

Neville's violent reaction attracted the attention of the surrounding students. Harry and the other two were standing not far away and couldn't help but cast a concerned look at him.

Sebastian's hand froze in the air. He was stunned for a moment, then put his hand down as if nothing had happened.

awkward!

Look, it scares the kids.

Am I that scary? Why does Neville see me as if I were Snape?

Looking at the panicked boy in front of him, Sebastian felt a little distressed.

This is a typical "come from behind" character, and he seems a bit clumsy and unconfident at first.

Except for Herbology, his performance in other courses was not that good.

His memory was not very good, and because of this he often made small mistakes, such as dropping his wand, casting the wrong spell, or forgetting the password to open a door.

It can be said that in the early stages of his study career, Neville was always a character who was laughed at and teased by others. Many people, including himself, felt that he was not suitable for Gryffindor.

It was not until the Death Eaters occupied the campus that he showed courage far beyond his peers and became the bravest warrior.

He is the kind of person who looks ordinary and even a little clumsy on the surface, but has a strong and undeniable power in his heart.

It is this inner tenacity and fearlessness that makes Neville one of the most admirable characters in Hogwarts.

Thinking of this, Sebastian smiled gently and said softly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Longbottom, I accidentally scared you."

"No...you don't have to apologize to me, Professor," Neville waved his hands desperately, "You don't have to call me Sir, just call me Neville."

"I didn't encounter any problems. It's just that practicing the Patronus Charm wasn't going well. I was a little anxious."

"Everyone needs time, don't rush," Sebastian said encouragingly, "The Patronus Charm is a very complex magic, and even many adult wizards have difficulty mastering it."

"Your wand can summon light, which is a very good start."

"But..." Neville glanced at the classmates around him and said unconfidently, "Other students can already release non-physical patronuses. I am really too stupid."

"Everyone has his or her own pace," Sebastian gently comforted him, "There's no need to blindly compare yourself with others."

“The only person you can ever surpass is yourself.”

"Based on my observation, your efforts are unmatched by many people, and your spell skills are actually higher than at least half of the third-year students."

"You are actually very good. All you have to do is be confident. Don't forget, magic is the power of belief."

"How about this, you use the Patronus Charm now, and I'll help you see if there's any problem."

Neville's eyes widened in surprise at Sebastian's encouragement.

More than half of the third graders?

Am I that great?

The professor is not lying to himself...

Although he still had some doubts, he couldn't help but feel a hint of joy in his heart, and even his body stood up straighter.

He raised his wand and chanted the spell again: "Expecto Patronus!"

Sebastian let go of his magical perception and focused all his attention on Neville.

After a while, he figured out the clue.

The first is that Neville is too unconfident, even to the point of inferiority complex.

He always felt that he was stupid and clumsy, and he always doubted whether he could succeed.

Under this psychological suggestion, he simply did not have the strong willpower to control his magic power.

Secondly, Neville's wand doesn't match him and can't cast spells well.

According to Sebastian's inquiries, he learned that this was Neville's father's wand, and he wanted to carry on his father's will.

Under these two conditions, it would naturally be much more difficult for Neville to successfully cast the spell than for others.

The Duel Club's training was coming to an end unknowingly, and as the clock struck nine forty-five, Sebastian announced that tonight's practice was over.

The students put away their wands, walked out of the dueling hall in twos and threes with excited smiles on their faces, and excitedly discussed the Patronus Charm they had just learned.

Many students did not forget to say good night to Sebastian when they passed by him.

Sebastian stood at the door of the duelling arena, his eyes fixed on Neville.

Despite his own assistance, until the end, Neville could only barely summon a wisp of silver-white smoke, which was still far from being an intangible patronus.

Heart disease also requires heart medicine.

If you want Neville to become more confident and show the demeanor of the Gryffindor swordsman in the original book, you have to start with his family.

I should find some time to have a good chat with Neville's grandmother later.

Just then, a loud noise interrupted Sebastian's thoughts.

"Professor Swan," Fred said with an expectant smile on his face, "Can you please fulfill our little wish and let us see your patronus?"

"Yes!" George immediately replied, "We have been curious all night. If we don't see your patronus, we will definitely not be able to sleep at night."

Hearing the twins' shouts, the students became interested and gathered around Sebastian.

"Professor, please show us your skills."

"Yes, Professor, we have seen most of the professors' patronuses tonight, and yours is the only one left. You can't be stingy."

"Come on, Professor, be open and honest. Let us all open our eyes."

Listening to the relentless booing of the little wizards, Sebastian felt overwhelmed.

In fact, the Patronus is not something that needs to be kept secret. After all, this spell cannot be used as a killer.

If it were in the past, the guardian angel would have let it go if he said so.

But since practicing Animagus with dragon blood, the form of his Patronus has changed drastically, from swan form to dragon form.

Looking at the students' curious looks, Sebastian shook his head helplessly.

Oh, the students are so enthusiastic.

I originally wanted to keep it secret for a while longer.

In that case, take this opportunity to show off.

He stretched out his wand and whispered, "Expecto Patronus!"

Accompanied by dazzling white light, a giant dragon made of silver-white light soared into the sky.

Under the shocked eyes of the little wizards, it flapped its wings and rushed towards the school gate, raising up dark shadows in the sky.

Fred and George looked at each other and couldn't help but shout.

“This is so cool!”
