Li Xueyue stomped out, glaring at him with disdain. "If you can always dress yourself, why do you burden me?"

"Why not?" He smiled slowly, finding her very amusing.

"Commander, don't you have more important things to do?" She folded her arms over her chest and uttered the last words.

"Is there something wrong?" Commander Yu Zhen glanced at her and raised his eyebrows. He looked at the confusion on her face with interest, and then he suddenly realized something.

"Handsome?" he teased, taking a step towards her. She took two steps back, scanning the room for a plan to escape.

"You are shameless and have no manners."

"Oh, Princess, I'm offended," he teased, placing a chaste hand on his chest with a hurt expression.

He continued to push past her boundaries until she found herself sandwiched between him and a forbidding table. Her back touched it as his arms held her in place.

She took a breath and glared at him.

Li Xueyue told herself to look away from him. This was exactly the reaction he wanted. She could smell him, a fresh scent of pine and subtle spices with a hint of sweetness.

His scent enveloped her, warm and inviting, and his voice dropped an alluring octave.

"Why don't you teach me proper etiquette?" he murmured softly, his rough fingers gently brushing the loose hair away from her face.

When he leaned over her, her shoulders stiffened.

He said in a sultry, hoarse voice, and beckoning, "I'll teach you etiquette in bed."

She swallowed as his lips brushed her ear. His fingers teasingly brushed her face, feather-soft. She felt a burning sensation wherever he touched, until her face was warm.

As she leaned toward him, Commander Yu Zhen thought he had succeeded in getting her attention, almost as he had hoped, she was mesmerized. A knowing smile curved his lips. She was a ball of flesh in his hands - fuck!

He choked, doubled over, gasping for air. She had just kneeled him in a place he shouldn't have kicked. His fingers clenched on the table beside her, trying to maintain a confident posture.

"Oops," she shrugged, easily dodging his grasping hand and chuckling.

With great effort he turned his head quickly and saw her stepping back.

She clasped her hands behind her back playfully and winked. "I hope to never see you again, Commander."

She gave him an innocent look, then hummed a little tune and skipped out of the room.

Commander Yu Zhen laughed, ran a hand through his hair, and tightened his fingers.

He was played by a woman as harmless as a fly. It was a pity that she would see him again, and sooner than she hoped. After all, she was the only reason he came to Wuyi.

Li Xueyue wished she knew where she was going. She rushed out of the man's room with confidence, but she was lost. She refused to admit it.

Li Xueyue had turned enough corridors and corners, and she knew it would be difficult for her to turn back.

Finally, Li Xueyue stopped and observed the surrounding environment. This place was different from other places in the palace. Except for the occasional splashing sound in the pond, it was almost eerily silent and desolate.

"Miss, do you want to ask the guards for directions?" a maid asked hesitantly. She nervously scanned the empty, dark corridor. She found that there was almost no one in the corridor except them, which made her feel scared.

There were as few guards present as there were people.

"Do you remember the way back?" Li Xueyue sighed and turned to face the servant.

The maid immediately lowered her head and clasped her fingers together. "I'm sorry, Miss... Unfortunately, I didn't know..."

Li Xueyue nodded while searching the surrounding area. Strangely, there was a place in the palace that was not well guarded. It was as if this wing was not important.

Curious, she walked to a door and tried to open it, but it was locked. Maybe it was a storage room? That didn't make sense. Storage places should be closely guarded.

"Well, I guess..." She trailed off as she spotted a shadow in the distance.

Someone is here.

Li Xueyue hurriedly lifted up her skirt to avoid tripping and ran towards the direction of the shadow.

It hit her hard chest roughly, causing her to yell "Ouch!"

Stiff hands grasped her upper arms, steadying her before she fell.

When Li Xueyue raised her head, she was greeted by Wen Jinkai's fierce frown.

"What are you doing here?" he asked sternly, taking a step forward while she took a step back.

\"I'm lost.\"

“What is he doing here too?” Li Xueyue asked herself. As the emperor’s words echoed in her ears, her chest was filled with uncertainty. “Choose the candidate for Commander Wen Jinkai.”

Her eyes fell on his hands, which were large and calloused, holding her tightly. Suddenly, she jerked her arms away, and his eyes widened at her rough movements. He didn't let her go until he was sure she wouldn't fall. When she stood firm, he reluctantly let her go.

"Are you lost? In the Second Prince's Mansion?" Wen Jinkai asked her, with a strong sense of doubt in his tone.

Li Xueyue narrowed her eyes. He accused her of lying. "Yes. Why else would I be here? I didn't even know this was the Second Prince's palace. What on earth are you doing here?"

Wen Jinkai looked at her silently. "Where should you be?"

He ignored her question. So she was right. He was meeting the candidate in the palace. Even so, she was a little confused that Wen Jinkai knew that this was the second prince's palace. Were they friends?

"What do you care about?" Li Xueyue crossed her arms stubbornly. She couldn't help but frown when she heard her words sounded a bit rude.

"I told you," Wen Jinkai whispered, "I will always care about you." He reached out to touch her face, but she pushed his hand away.

"You understood correctly."

"What right? To be able to touch you?" he teased, his lips curled up slightly.

Li Xueyue had a hard time making out her words. She turned her gaze away, except for his stormy eyes. He was handsome and fierce. Her heart weighed heavily on her chest. She told herself that she couldn’t get involved with Commander Wen anymore. He wanted a harem. She didn’t have one.

"I'm leaving." She snorted, frowned, turned her back to him, and took a few steps forward, as if waiting for him to react and catch up.

"What a fool I am," she thought to herself as he still stood there.

She hated herself for freezing for a moment, as if roots had grown from the ground, fixing her in place.

"Take my guard with you. Tell him where you want to go and he'll take you there."

Li Xueyue looked back and saw a man in black falling from the ceiling. She thought he would land heavily, but he made almost no sound when his feet touched the floor. He put one hand on his chest and bowed respectfully.

"Thank you." Li Xueyue said briefly in the most detached tone.

Wen Jinkai's eyes narrowed and her fingers clenched into fists. She told herself that she didn't care about his anger. Why should she do this? It wasn't like he liked her or anything. She held her chin high and strode away, his guards following closely behind her.

"Your Highness, where do you want to go?" the guard asked her politely.

Li Xueyue pondered for a moment and decided, "Take me to the palace." She had something to discuss with the emperor.
