"We're going horseback riding," he told her coolly, and began to remove the fancy hairpins from her hair.

Xueyue tilted her head in confusion. Riding a horse?

"But why?" She asked softly, watching him pull out the last hairpin. They had just come back from a run. Wasn't it lunch time?

As he pulled out the last hairpin, he was momentarily surprised to see strands of her dark hair cascading down her back like a smooth waterfall. He tucked her hair into a ponytail and cleared his throat. "Better put your hair up." He nodded to himself and then cursed himself. What on earth was he doing?

Li Chenyang beckoned a maid forward. "Prepare her riding clothes."

When he saw Xueyue open her mouth, he pinched her cheeks.

"Ouch!" she muttered, rubbing it.

"Don't ask anything, just listen to me." Li Chenyang frowned.

Xueyue saw the anger in Li Chenyang's eyes and nodded slowly. She didn't want to break her own boundaries.

She knew that if Li Chenyang came to escort her out of the house personally, it would be an emergency. So she sat quietly and let the maid tie her hair into a high ponytail. Not long after, she changed into a fitted robe suitable for riding.

"Have you fastened the saddle? Where's the reins? Make sure the peddler's in perfect position so you can climb up easily. And are you wearing gloves? Leather is not good for your hands." Li Chenyang chattered again as Xueyue climbed up Black Moon.

"Come, let me see if you are doing it right." Li Chenyang said worriedly while leading the horse.

Xueyue realized how much Li Chenyang thought too much and burst into laughter.

She never expected that this cold and heartless man could be such a worried person.

He looked up at the laughter. "That's not funny," he frowned.

Xueyue's lips curled up, her eyes full of smiles. "Thank you, Brother Chen." She said softly.

Seeing this title, Li Chenyang raised his head abruptly. When he saw that beautiful smile, he felt a strange warmth coming from his chest. Is this what it feels like to have a beloved sister?

"Brother Chen?" He repeated in a low voice, not sure if he heard it correctly.

Xueyue nodded. "This is the nickname I gave you, do you like it?" Because her tone was so light and her words were so innocent, Li Chenyang realized that this was a sincere question.

He looked at her hopeful expression, like a puppy waiting for its owner's approval.

A faint smile appeared on his lips. He ruffled her hair. "It's okay." He said, and kicked off the horse, leaving Xueyue with her mouth open.

It doesn't matter? It doesn't matter? Did she hear it wrong? Did the cold and stern young master finally approve of her words and actions?

"Hey! Wait a minute!" Xueyue called out from behind him, with a bright smile on her face. She urged Heiyue forward.

Black Moon was very happy, finally he could gallop on the grass again. Black Moon rushed into the field dizzily following the direction of Xue Yue's gentle guidance.

Although the horse couldn't see, his keen hearing could hear the sound of Li Chenyang's horse.

Li Chenyang was startled when he heard the sound of horse hooves getting closer and closer. He looked back and saw the shadow of a horse catching up with him at an incredible speed.
